Blogmas Day 15: Throwback Thursday- The Manger Scene

Another thing I liked when I was little was the Manger scene my parents had... because I liked playing with it! I'm sure a lot of kids do this, even if its not toys... we'll play with whatever lol.

And I kind of wonder... what I did because I didn't really know the story of Jesus that well. I knew he was a baby and the 3 Kings traveled to bring him presents... didn't know much else... so I'm curious.

We had a lot of angels in there that I don't think went with the manger... but I guess my mom put them there I guess because it kinda went. I'm not sure... anyway those were my favorites because they looked kind of like dolls or little girls. I think I broke one... we still keep it in there though.

And then when we got my first dog Lucky... we put it inside our glass cabinets because we thought that Lucky would get it... and now we have another little dog that will get anything in his path... but yeah. It looks nicer now. Sometimes we put it underneath the little tree that we put upstairs now and that looks really nice. I'm kind of a stickler for tree decorating... to say the least, and that looked really nice. Although we did also have a John Belushi ornament from Animal House in there too... but that just makes me laugh.

Speaking of scenes, last year I did a winter scene downstairs. We were going to put the extra decorations that don't fit in the glass cabinets... but they didn't really fit that well and we had this table out anyway for decorations... so I did like a winter scene on there and my mom liked it... so we kept it there. And it was nice! Everyone liked it, I liked it... again, huge stickler for decorating and I was happy with it!

So yeah... random tangent, I'm just excited to decorate.

Hope everyone is equally excited about decorating. I think they do actually make toy mangers now, so that might be a good thing if you wanted a manger and you have kids or grandkids because... its just dolls to kids. Lol.

Hope you liked this little story!

Byee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
