Throwback Thursday: Rugrats

There are some shows that you watch as a kid and love, and then you watch them as an adult and they aren't as amazing as you remember. Dinosaur was one show I always looked forward to watching on Disney Channel after school and stuff... And as an adult, it just wasn't funny or good at all! It was one of the biggest disappointments of life, even though Jessica Walters is in it!

Rugrats, however, is one show that I actually like even more as an adult than I did as a kid! There's some humor in it that's just more for grown ups and it's super funny and just absolutely great all around. I appreciate the parents and grown-up characters a lot better than I did as a kid, and I even find the babies cuter and funnier than I remember them being. Didi is super funny, her parents are really great, Stu's relationship with his brother and his dad is funny. I love seeing the "bromances" with all the dads and the female relationships on the show also.

I also love how close everyone on the show is too. All the babies are so close and the parents are all so close that they're like siblings or cousins even. The parents are always real and they get annoyed with each other sometimes, but they have a real, genuine friendship that I find really powerful. It's hard to have that as adults and it makes me think that the babies will all be besties when they grow up as well. I even like All Grown Up for that very reason!

In particular, I saw the pilot again recently, and it's just super clever for any tv show. Not just a kids show but in general, just really creative. It showed Tommy's first birthday party and Didi and Stu were planning the perfect party with the perfect present and everything, while Tommy just wanted to eat dog food and become a dog. The party planning is something the parents can all relate to, and I'm sure every kid at some point has wanted to eat dog food! I can imagine kids putting this on and their parents seeing it and liking it just as much as the kids! It's pretty brilliant.

Overall, I just really like this show. As a kid it was my favorite and I still find it sooo sooo funny! Definitely love that they have The 90s are All That now so that I can enjoy these all over again! I wish they did something like that for ABC Saturday morning shows or something like that! Lol.

Byeeeee!

Scribbles about TV: Jane The Virgin Review!

This I think is a surprise hit, so of corse I needed to watch it for myself to see! It's been getting a lot of critical buzz because it has been reviewed as "one of the best pilots of the season" and I also have been hearing a few critics saying that they don't think it will last because the word "virgin" is in the title... which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin and if a show is good, its good and people should watch it... plus this did bring pretty high ratings for The CW so the critics that said that can suck it! Lol. Overall I really liked this show. One thing thats been bothering me a lot about the new Fall shows is that the characters aren't interesting enough. Especially the female characters. I thought that this showed a lot of really strong female characters that were interesting. This had a pretty big cast with A LOT of stuff going on for a pilot and most of the characters were female. That is a powerful thing to see on TV...

Top 10 Dating Tips/ Suggestions

So I've been in a relationship for about 2 and a half years... but before that I was single... for a very long time. And I was on dating apps for about a year or so before that... so here's what I learned from those apps. If you want more specific relationship advice I have from being in a relationship... that one might be a little harder but I guess I could do a blog on that too? Idk... I'm not an expert but I think I have some good tips.  Find an App That Works For You  I feel like not all apps work for everyone. I started on Bumble- and I like the app. I love the idea of girls taking the first move- but... I HATE making the first move apparently. So I would just match with a bunch of guys... and never really knew what to talk about. Plus I like having A LOT of info in my bio and Bumble just doesn't give enough space for me. I only went out with 1 guy from Bumble I think and it was bad.  So after that I tried Coffee Meets Bagel... which is terrible. Maybe depending on...

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de...
