Throwback Thursday: Shannon's Awesome Mix Vol. 1

This is my "Guardians of the Galaxy" mixtape of all the songs I liked most in high school and that I think are important to my life.

1) Feeling This by Blink 182- I wasn't all that into Blink 182 until I was a senior in high school and they reunited and I saw them in concert. This song might not be my favorite of theirs, but it's a good way to start off the Awesome Mix. There was a boy I liked senior year and I listened to this song and it gave me the feels and whatnot. It's a song I still like to listen to when I am first noticing that I like someone. It makes sense for that.

2) Shots by LMFAO ft. Lil John- They played this like 4 times at my prom. Or maybe this was just the only good song they played at my prom. Either way, this is a completely inappropriate prom song, and it was hilarious when my principal, who is a nun, heard them say Buttery Nipples. Side note: now that I can drink I've still only ever had one shot and I kind of want to know what a buttery nipple consists of cause it sounds good. I think I'm gonna google that after. Anyway this song is embarrassing, but it's on the Awesome Mix

3) The Church of Hot Addiction by Cobra Starship- This was the hottest song ever back in the day! It still probably is lol. I love Gabe Saporta, I was completely in love with him when I was in high school and he's still totally hot even though he's old and married now lol. This is my favorite song on their first cd, which is probably my favorite of their CDs. It's just so cool and sexy and different and I still really really like it and I'm fangirling a little bit over it. Pull yourself together,Shan! Lol

4) Vegas by All Time Low- This is just a nice song that reminds me of my friends in high school and all of our crazy and fun times together. This seems like such a road trip song, and I've never really been on a road trip with my friends, but this just makes me think of fun and crazy times. Lol it's a fun song and one of my favorites.

5) Don't Wake Me Up by The Hush Sound- I was obsessed with this song for quite a bit when I was younger. I still really like this band and I just recently started listening to them more. This is still an amazing song and one of the best actual performances I've ever seen live in a song. There's one part where Patrick Stump sings in the song and they were touring with Panic at the Disco and they got Brendon Uriel to do that part. It was awesome!

6) Just Dance by Lady Gaga- How could I not include Lady Gaga on this playlist? I was in Germany when I first heard this song and saw the video, and it must have been really popular there before it got popular in the US because all of my friends from the trip knew who Lady Gaga was before she got popular in America, and I have to say that is why I'm probably so obsessed with Lady Gaga today. The video was really cool and she looked awesome and I've just always been a huge lady Gaga fan since then... Even though I didn't love her last cd, she's still one of my favorites.

7) Miss Delaney by Jacks Mannequin- This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I don't know what it is about this particular song, but it's just so beautiful and sad and just really meaningful. Again I listened to this a lot when I was in Europe, I don't know why it became my favorite song then, but I couldn't stop listening to it, and I'm still a big fan of Jacks Mannequin today. Everything in Transit is one of the best CDs ever and I should find the cover art because it's beautiful!

8) Jizz in Pants by The Lonely Island- I loved comedy in high school almost as much as I do now, and this was one of the earlier comedy songs that my friends and I were all super into. I think in general the song is good other than just being funny. I cannot wait for the Lonely Island movie... I hope Andy Samberg EGOT's!

9) Sleeping with Giants (Lifetime) by The Academy Is- I knew I wanted to include one song from this band, and I couldn't think of which one to pick... But if I were going to get lyrics tattooed on me, "Are we wasting time or is it wasting us" might be one of the ones I would choose from. I don't think I could actually pull off a tattoo, other than of Waldo somewhere on my body that I wouldn't tell anyone where. Anyway I like this song and the guys in this band are all super nice! I met them at bamboozle and I told Sisky his brother should have won survivor, I high fived the Butcher really hard and he said "that was a good one" and Mike Carden and I had a super nice convo about the Cobra Starship shirt I had on! Lol good memory.

10) Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenousaurus by Flight of The Conchords - Again, I've been a comedy nerd for forever and Flight of The Conchords is one of my favorites. Someone in my bio class started singing this one time and I joined him of corse because I was probably the only other person in the class that knew all the words to the song. The cheerleader in the class said "I guess we know who the cool kids are now." Yep. Lol.

11) I Write Sins Not Tragedies by Panic At The Disco- This was popular before I was in high school... But again I couldn't choose a panic song that I wanted. I remember when I first heard this I thought "this is like the weirdest song I've ever heard" but it was still catchy and I really liked it. It also sounded a little like fall out boy, which is why I really liked them. Girls, if you want to find out how much a guy likes you: know their opinion about Panic at the Disco before dating them and then after and see if it changes. When I was in 8th grade some guy made fun of me for liking Panic at the Disco, but he liked another girl that also liked Panic at the Disco and I heard him say "this song is catchy." I believe I've heard other guys listen to panic because their girlfriends make them... And I really don't think many guys will like this band otherwise. I think I told a guy that he wouldn't hate them as much as he hated Fall Out Boy, but I've never tested that theory.

12) Saturday by Fall Out Boy- I went to a lot of concerts in high school. Mostly Fall out Boy concerts. I actually saw two Fall Out Boy concerts in 3 days which was crazy and I loved it. This song would always be the last song that they played and it was awesome and it was always. Super emotional and just an amazing performance. Idk if Fall Out Boy still plays this at any of their shows, but I have a feeling they do. This is one of their best songs. They were my favorite band back in the day, they still are pretty much and I don't think I will ever be into any band as much as I was into Fall Out Boy. Other than maybe David Bowie. Lol.

Alrighty that is my Awesome Mix Volume 1: Volume 2 may come up soon...

Byeeee!

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de

Disney Store Closing Haul

So if you read my post from yesterday- you know that I love The Disney Store, but it is unfortunately closing. I did pick up some things from the store that I thought I'd share with you guys! I did get a couple of t shirts. One is a Star Wars shirt, which is technically a men's shirt but I thought it looked really cool and I don't like that Disney doesn't carry the same things for men and for women. For the most part they look unisex to me and a lot of their men's stuff has characters I like better. Like the star wars shirt for women was grey with pink lettering and had no pictures, but the mens shirt had a really cool metallic silver logo on black clothing with pictures of all the new characters and Luke inside of the letters... much cooler! So I got that! The other shirt I got is really funny and it has Sleeping Beauty on it and it says "I Woke Up Like This." Which I really liked! Super cute and funny and my niece likes it when I wear shirts with c

Scribbles About Life: 3.10.16

Soooo... I don't really want to post about my day... but I don't really want to post anything else either. I started writing something about female characters in movies and TV... but I just didn't like what I was writing and... idk... I was a blog writing machine this week and now I feel defeated. I wrote a ton on Monday and Tuesday and now I just don't feel like doing a post today... but I want to write still... So I'll talk about things that I guess are on my mind lately... Idk. So I got this Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor... and for some reason... I'm addicted to the way that it smells. Idk why, it smells like cherry medicine... but I also sort of like it. Its more cherry than medicine... and I can't smell it on my lips... but Idk. I keep smelling it in the tube. I got some cute stuff from American Eagle yesterday too! I got a dress and a romper... I do not own any Rompers... except this one... but it looked good on me and it didn't make me look f
