Scribbles about Food: Lay's Do Us a Flavor Finalists

So now that I've gotten to try all of the Lays do us a flavor chips and I have eaten quite a bit and I know what I like best and the order of them and everything I will tell you what I think. Before i had tried any, I thought that Mango Salsa and Cheddar Bacon Mac and Cheese sounded the best to me. I thought Cappacino sounded weird, but I had been hearing good things about it. And I don't love Wasabi on it's own, so I didn't expect to like that very much at all. I also prefer Kettle Cooked Chips and Wavy chips as opposed to regular chips, but it didn't think that would factor in to making them taste better or anything. I also thought the clear winner would be cheddar bacon mac and cheese.

So first one I tried was the Cappacino, which I had heard was really good. I opened them up and at first I didn't think they were bad. I thought they were a lot better than I expected... But after eating them more and more... I noticed a weird aftertaste after I ate them and I didn't like that. I thought it would taste like Cappacino but with more of a salty and sweet type of balance... But it didn't really do that. It was just kind of icky tasting to me. Not something I would ever buy again.

I tried Mango Salsa after eating one of the cappacinos and I really really liked them. I thought the flavor was super amazing, this had a wayyyy better balance of salty and sweet than the Cappacino. And it really tasted like they got the flavor completely right and it was just amazing. And it wasn't like cheap crappy mango salsa, it tasted like legit delicious Mango Salsa. Really like this flavor and I definitely would buy this again.

Then I tried Wasabi Ginger, somewhat reluctantly and somewhat excitedly. I was reluctant because I didn't think I would like wasabi on it's own, I didn't know if I would like the ginger flavor with it... I was a bit skeptical. I do love kettle chips better than any other kind of chip though, so I thought that might make a difference in me liking it better... And it totally did because I loved these. They don't taste too strong like wasabi, they really aren't spicy. The ginger just gives it a nice tang and combines super nicely with the wasabi and with the crispy texture of the kettle cooked version... It was just delicious. Absolutely amazing.

Then I tried the Bacon Cheddar Mac And Cheese, a flavor that they surely wouldn't be able to screw up... But I don't really love the fake bacon flavor that a lot of chips have. It was very flavorful and the cheese tasted really really good, but overall it wasn't my favorite. If it had been a kettle chip I would have liked it way better. These weren't amazing for me.

Here is my ranking overall:

1) Wasabi Ginger- just a great flavor overall and it being on a kettle chip makes it all that much more delicious. If I had to pick one, this would definitely be it.

2) Mango Salsa-Amazing flavor, they really created something unique here that just worked amazingly well. I really like the flavor and it is a very close second.

3) Cheddar Bacon Mac and Cheese- Good flavor, I don't love fake bacon tastes but this is pretty good. It's definitely something I would buy again, but it can't compare to the flavors of the other 2.

4) Cappacino- Yuck. Did not love.

So there you have it! Congratulations to all the finalists and May The Odds Be Ever In Your Flavor! Hehe.

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
