2014 Emmys Recap: Winners, who should have won, and important moments

This years Emmys was an award show I was actually excited to see. A lot of shows I watch were nominated, plus Breaking Bad is one of my favorite shows ever and that was up for bunches of awards, so yeah I was pretty excited.

One thing I did not know was that Seth Meyers was the host. He was actually a really great host. It makes sense because he actually writes for these awards shows, but I thought he was really funny all around. His monalogue was good, i loved that he did Billy on The Street as a sketch. I thought the Big Bang theory and How I Met Your Mother jokes were incredibly funny. Overall just a funny award show that I actually was paying attention to mostly. There were a few speeches and awards that I fast forwarded cause I watched the first half on TiVo and caught up. And basically if Louie Ck and Mike Judge didn't win, I fast forwarded. But I didn't skip the jokes or anything!

Other funny moments of the show: The Weird Al song was sooo soo funny. I didn't know most of the theme songs for most of the songs that he was parodying, but the Game of Thrones parody at the end was really great. And Andy Samberg as King Joffrey was too funny. Especially when Lena Hedley got onstage to announce. It was really awesome overall. The Bryan Cranston and Julia Louis Dryfuss kiss was super super funny too. Those two should star in more things together because they are too funny and look like they have a great time together. The part where it was a town hall type of thing was funny too. It was a funny night.

The music of the show was terrible I thought though. It was just so weird! It seemed like the theme of the night was "Bad 90s music" or something like that. It was just weird and didn't go with anything. The performances from Weird Al and Sarah Barielles were great. When they played the Breaking Bad song it wasn't bad, but they added an extra twinkly type of noise that wasn't very badass like the Breaking Bad song actually is. I thought that there was some sort of musical toy in my bedroom or a Christmas ornament or something going off... But nope. They just decided to add a twinkly sound for no real reason. Weird.

The reason I really wanted to watch was for the Robin Williams tribute of corse, which I thought was very special and very profound. They didn't show clips from all of his movies, or even any clips from him on Mork and Mindy. They just had Billy Crystal talk about him as a friend and a comedian and how great he was and then they showed a few clips of him on talk shows. It was really a special tribute and it was very very heartfelt in my opinion. The award show was poking fun at a lot of things like how much money people are asking for in television and stuff like that and that's how I tend to think of most celebrities. But I thought it was really coming from Billy Crystal's heart because he really does miss his friend. I saw David Lettermans tribute also and I thought the same thing. It's just nice to see that there is some good in the entertainment industry and that these people really do care about each other and support each other till the end.

Now for the actual winners... The only show I really watch that won anything this year is Louie who won for best writing. And I didn't actually watch that this year because I prefer watching it on Netflix and it's not on Netflix yet, so I haven't really watched it. I also caught a few episodes of Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory and Veep this year... And they really aren't my favorites. I like Ty Burell and Jim Parsons and it's nice that they won... But come on! How can Louie not win? He's so good on the show. I also really wanted TJ Miller to win for Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor for Silicon Valley and I was really rooting for him... And then I realized he wasn't even nominated. What the actual hell! How did he and Nick Offerman not get nominated! Another funny moment was when TJ realized he was on camera during the show and got Kumail to get on screen too. It was just so funny and great because they were like little kids and it was just funny.

And I will say I would have rather seen Silicon Valley or Louie win for outstanding comedy series... But if there's one year Modern Family actually deserved to win it was this year. I thought that the wedding between Mitch and Cam was really a great storyline and it's something that hasn't been done before and it kind of made history to do it on the show. It was a good time to see it win.

And Breaking Bad obviously won everything and deserved to win everything. I was really happy that Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn and Aaron Paul each won. They had great speeches and they really did a good job this final season and they deserve it. They've all won before, but their characters change each season really and this final season they really came full circle and did a fantastic job!

I think that's about it. Another thing I noticed were the speeches... They really didn't give anyone time to fully accept their speeches. I was pissed when Best Comedy was up there and they started playing the music right away pretty much! They didn't do that for Juliana Marguelies and she's not as important as the people that actually won the big award! That was rude. I get that the award show was almost over, but let the people make their speeches! For the big awards they shouldn't be allowed to cut them off unless it's ridiculously long.

Now that's it. What were your favorite moments?

BYEEEE!

P.S- Louie Ck also looked really handsome! Same with TJ and Kumail even though I only saw them for a second. And Matthew McConaughey just looked too beautiful for the Emmys!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
