So I am no Valentines day expert... As a matter of fact I don't really like the damn day all that much. It's not that I'm completely unromantic... I just don't see why people just celebrate their love on every February 14th. Why not February 15th or whenever it moves you? But for whatever reason, I do like doing girly things and getting dressed up and stuff so why not have essentials. It doesn't have to be for a date, it could be for girls night out. And guys there's some advice for you too. These are just little tips and tricks I think are useful.
1) I mentioned this yesterday, but in case a Deodorant review wasn't exciting enough for you to use, I'll say it again. I received the Dove advanced care deodorant from Influenster for testing purpose. On the box it mentioned that it was supposed to moisturize your underarms after shaving... So I thought why not try it on my legs after shaving? It made my legs so smooth and beautiful. Usually my legs get super itchy, but I have had no problems after using this. It's a nice deodorant also... But this has made it a miracle product for me. I would also suggest using a moisturizing shaving creme instead of a gel. Those will make your legs feel smooth and soft and lovely. I have been loving skintimates dry skin shaving creme, eos also has a good one though. Whatever you can find, it'll give you a great shave if you are wearing a dress, or even if you just want a boost of confidence. It just makes me feel really nice and confident when I have smooth legs.
2) Hair bows- these are a super easy accessory that instantly makes any hair look pulled together, cute and really feminine. And like my guy actually noticed and complimented me when I was wearing a bow. I mean he's someone that notices little things like that, but the fact that it actually got his attention shows guys actually notice that stuff.
I also always want to do something different with my hair on Valentine's Day literally just because on season 2 of the office Pam wore her hair differently in the Valentines day episode... And every Valentines day since that has shaped my life.
3) Scarves and Perfume- you want your perfume to last a long time? Get a scarf and spray perfume on the scarf. It'll stick on the scarf really long, but it won't overpower the scent. Also if you really want to go the extra mile say "sorry I probably smell bad," when you know you don't. Works lol.
I would go with a lighter scent for this trick. Bath and Body Works Pink Chiffon, Paris Amour, or velvet sugar are all good ones. Pinks Warm and Cozy is also excellent, or of you want more of a perfume or floraly scent, I'd go for Poppy by Coach. That's nice for day or night and it's a smell that lasts and I could imagine works well with anyone (if you live by a coach outlet, you can get them for around 30 bucks!)
4) Make up- If you are going on a date- don't overdo it! Go for a softer romantic look. Guys tend not to notice make up- so I wouldn't personally do anything like a dark smokey eye on a date. I mean I guess depending on what you're doing, but I go for lighter "girl next door" type of looks.
That being said if you are going for a girls night out go all out. Girls will totally notice your make up and if you're good with doing nighttime looks, I think this would be a good way to do it. They'll get what you're doing.
5) Hand creams- It's freezing out. You don't want him to hold your hand and it be all dry and crackd and nasty. I recommend Udder Cream- you can probably find this at your grocery store and it works really well. It doesn't smell great, so I use bath and body works hard working hand cream to help it smell a bit nicer.
Actually Burt's Bees has a really nice Almond hand cream too... Idk if they still make it or not I haven't used it since high school I think. It worked really well and smelled really good.
6) nice moisturizing lip balm or something- you don't want to make out with someone with nasty dry lips! Also if you are making out like a lot your lips may get chapped and you will need lip balm... maybe. Idk I really don't have much making out experience, I might just be doing it wrong...
.... actually maybe just question all of this advice in general.... I really cannot stress how little expertise I have on this subject. Just do what you want, be happy and have a fun night. If you're out with a dude, thats awesome. You should tell them about this website because why not? If you're out with girl friends that's just as fun. If you're home alone eating candy, listening to blink 182 and probably watching 30 Rock, I've been there and that is awesome. Let me know you're plans and if this advice is honest or helpful whatsoever.
Byeeeee!
