Scribbles About TV: The Real O'neals

So when I saw the commercials for this I thought it looked like the worst show of all time... and it actually wasn't! It wasn't the greatest show of all time or anything... but it certainly wasn't bad.

So the show follows this teenager mostly and he knows he's gay but isn't ready to come out of the closet yet... and I thought that seemed really real. I've never been through that situation so I can't really tell... but it felt very repressed and awkward and to me it felt like he was learning it about himself instead of just coming out to everyone else. I don't know... it was interesting.

One thing I kinda had a problem with but also sort of liked was the male anorexia thing... I think its powerful to have it in the show and I applaud them for that... but I don't think it should be something that should really make fun of. I feel like male anorexia is probably almost as common as female anorexia but males don't always talk about things. I don't know. But it definitely happens often... so cool that they acknowledge it... but idk. I didn't laugh at the "man anorexia" joke... and then they sort of ignored it and it just wasn't my favorite thing about the show.

Also... I didn't like Shannon. I love that there is a character named Shannon. I've been waiting my whole life for a character named Shannon... and I like that she's smart... but she's such a weirdo! Lol. I think I'll end up liking her. I can't stand the commercials with the "I made it in woodshop" thing... ugh. I don't even want to explain it... don't google it its gross. Lol.

And I kind of like shows where they are like "our family is a bunch of weirdos, but that's why we love them." And I didn't really get that from the mom in this show... which I think is a real situation that a lot of moms probably have. And there are a lot of things you just don't say. Very repressed... which I think most people are in some way or another. So... that makes sense.

I also just kind of didn't think the dad and the oldest son were that funny. They weren't bad, I think they'll have funnier situations... but yeah.

There were also dream sequences... idk. It wasn't the funniest... I feel like they'll get better though. It was a little weird and random... but it was creative.

Overall... I think it'll get a lot better. I would watch this again, I have faith in this show. It has good moments... I kinda think it's not boring. I think it'll be solid next year.

So yeah. I'm happy it didn't suck! Lol. I liked it! Kind of. Haha.

Byeee!

It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea...

Blogmas Day 12: The 12 Days of Christmas Gift Guide

So I thought it would be fun to do a gift guide that every gift corresponds with the price. So like for the first day of Christmas $1 gift that would be good and then up from there. These would be good stocking stutterers and things I just think are unique. $1- Solar Powered Dancers!  My mom loves getting the little dancing solar powered people. We get most of ours from Dollar tree... other dollar stores have them too, they're super cute and fun for $1. Its good to put near any plants that you have that way you know they're getting sunlight. It's a good gift. $2- Mini Coloring Book!  At 5 Below they had some mini travel sized coloring books for $2. I thought these were pretty cool. I got the Botanical one I believe. Really cute and fun! I would recommend! $3-   Ceramic Truck w/ Christmas Tree  I saw this at the Target Dollar Spot and I thought it was cute and would probably make a great gift. If you know someone who has a truck or likes the sort of "rustic C...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...
