So this is a fun one! The Red Bank Wedding Walk is always a big deal in NJ. And Red Bank is sort of a touristy area... if you know NJ, you probably know Red Bank... but yeah I went there for that and it was fun... lots to do, lots of good ideas and stuff so I'll get into it.
So basically you walk, or take a shuttle, to all these different stores in Red Bank that are trying to showcase why they are necessary for weddings, and they give freebies and pretty much everywhere had refreshments and candy and all of that kind of stuff.
So this event wasn't necessarily the most useful for us because my sister's wedding is almost here and we already have most of what we need... but we had fun anyway and we want to go back next year! Lol neither of us will be a bride next year... probably. Lol. She won't I probably won't as I have no boyfriend... but whatevs you never know. Lol. And there are things you wouldn't really think of getting. Like there was a tea and spice shop and they mentioned that a lot of people throw lavender at weddings because you can't throw rice anymore because it kills birds! So lavender is good to have. Plus it makes a nice favor for the wedding or for showers or whatever. Good groomsmen gift...
So the brides get the free swag... the friends and other people did not get the swag... which was upsetting. But I did get a free thing or two... and there was a ton of free food. Like the first place we went to had a make your own candy bag and and they had sour patch watermelons... so I was happy.
Also red bank just has a lot of cool stuff! So its just fun to look around regardless of the wedding walk. So yeah. I did some damage at the Alex and Ani store... we had lunch there at an okay but very pretty restaurant... and yeah. It was nice. It was a fun time, like I said, we're doing it again next year. Lol.
And they had danishes everywhere! Lol. Like every place had free breakfast foods, and I didn't quite know why because the hotel that it started at, Oyster Point, had breakfast food... so yeah. I felt like they were bombarding us with free food and danishes... not a bad thing, but they were everywhere! Lol.
And we didn't win anything, but they had a lot of really great prizes. And they had like 10 grand prizes or something and they had a bunch of different places and other things thrown in together to make a really really big prize... so that's pretty cool. I thought that made it really special. My sister had some of it already... but we saw someone we knew in the crowd, we'd let them have something if it was someone you already have. There were lots of friendly people... so if you're going and pretending to be a bride, like I'm going to do... you can do it. Lol.
And it was a lot of walking, but they did have a free shuttle. We barely used the shuttle cause we wanted to do well for our fitbit challenge (which I won btw. My sister was like "you're only winning because I didn't sync yet" and I'm like "err no. Take yourself down a peg." Which I did... by 14 steps! lol.
But yeah. All in all, fun event. I recommend going, even if you aren't getting married or whatever... so yeah!
