Scribbles About TV: The Family

So I was kind of half paying attention to this... but I think I was still watching it pretty closely because I was pretty into it! Its a good show!

So... I don't think the acting is... the best. Most everyone is good... but the guy that plays Adam just isn't very good. I don't want to be mean because he is a kid, and I think he's doing his best. He might be doing a great job because he kind of has to act like a bad actor... but I just don't like him. But I do think its a hard role and he's doing a better job than I could have done... so he's not really a reason to not watch the show.

And the other characters... I didn't think anyone was amazing to be honest... but I think they may just need their characters to develop a little bit better and I think there's going to be a lot of character development.

The show has a lot going on with it... The main story focuses on a missing boy who was assumed dead when he was 9 years old and he shows up 10 years later... a DNA test proves its him... but he isn't acting like his old self and he's doing suspicious and questionable things... so it is hard to tell if it really is him or not.

And all the characters are a little suspicious themselves. The mom is focused on winning an election... she's a local politician I think she's running for governor. Her husband is an author and he was working on a book tour and is having an affair with the main detective of the case who is beating herself up because she accused the wrong man and is upset about it. The guy that was accused is out in the real world and he's creepy... not going to lie. He says he wished he did it, he's having a hard time transitioning to the changes... and the siblings of Adam. I think the sister works with the mom... and they didn't show her much... I think she was in the confessional and she was supposed to be watching Adam and she didn't... I think she works with her mom... I don't remember her all that much. Lol. Is that sad? I'm saying this was a good show and I don't remember it. The brother was an alcoholic and he was making out with some girl when Adam went missing and then he runs into her at a bar and she kisses him and then gives someone money... so thats weird.

And the mom doesn't believe the older son when he has questions about Adam. She just says "You're a drunk" and dismisses him for that... so thats weird too right? Someone in this family knows more than they're letting on... and it seems to be the mom. She's too obsessed with politics... she seems to be doing it for the votes. It probably isn't that... just because thats so obvious... but yeah.

So overall... I thought they did it well. I want to watch the rest of the series from the pilot. I don't think its as good as Secrets and Lies so far... but Secrets and Lies had an almost comically bad pilot... so yeah.

Alright! That is everything. I know I got stuff wrong, let me know below what really happened. Lol.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
