Random Beauty And Fashion Tips Tricks and Quirks

Sooo I'm not a huge expert on this subject, but these are just some random tips that I have noticed over time/ some things I like to do/ things that people seem to like. I just thought these things were worth mentioning.

1)Don't throw out the spongetip applicator!!!- I think this an important part of a drugstore eyeshadow palette. There are a lot of drugstore shadows that don't have the same pigmentation or application as a higher end shadow does... so a Brush really won't do you any good for applying them. I just bought this NYC shadow collection and I really like the colors, but they aren't super pigmented when applied with a brush. They seem a bit easier to use with a spongetip applicator. Also those little brushes that come with blushes sometimes probably make contouring and highlighting easy. I don't do that all that much... but thats what I have heard. Everything comes with a palette for a reason and its part of what you're paying for, so you might as well keep it.

2) Want to make your hair look voluminous and touchable? Touch it!- So I've been using some different stuff in my hair than the Ouidad stuff that I usually use and in order to get the same "effortless curl" look that I like I figure actually touching and playing with my hair makes it a little better. I would use something like the L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Restorative Dry Oil and kind of use my hands to smooth it out. This is something I literally just tried and as of right now I kind of like it. I also use a sea salt spray to sort of give it a really great beachy curl. The L'oreal oil and the sea salt spray actually work really well together. I must say I'm super impressed.

3) Accent Nail Fingers- I love accent nails and I always tend to do mine on the same fingers. On one hand I will do it on my pinky finger and my ring finger. On another I do it on my thumb and index finger. This kind of started off as an accident. I started out wanting to do one finger, then I liked it so much I did another... and I did the same thing on the other hand without realizing I did the wrong fingers. I really like the way that this turned out though and I still do it today. It looks so polished because its adding glam to your fingernails... but its still kind of fun and topsy-turvey cause its different on the other side. I also kind of do this keeping in mind which fingers I wear what rings because I wear a lot of rings and I don't want them all to be on accent fingers, but I want at least one on an accent finger... so yeah. That's kind of my thing there.

4) A plain solid colored t-shirt is time to get creative- If you've followed me on instagram you may or may not have noticed that I usually wear the same plain purple shirt... in fact its been in a few posts here lately...but depending on how you accessorize it, it can be a different top every time you wear it! They look great with scarves, statement necklaces, cardigans, all different types of earrings, beanies, hats, hair styles, make up,shoes, bottoms even if you're crazy enough... seriously the possibilities for styling a plain solid colored shirt or t shirt are endless. Even some of my American Eagle T-shirts with Logo T-shirts can be totally different depending on what I wear with them. I feel like I'm going to rock these simple t-shirts with different accessories a lot this spring and summer.

5) Women will compliment a cute bag of any price- This is pretty basic. A handbag is a handbag is a handbag. Women love handbags. They will compliment you whether you got it for $200 at a coach store or whether you got it for $15 at Target. I have a purple Coach bag that I absolutely love and I have a gold bag from Target that I love just as much... and other people love them just as much as well. If you live in a city or something, women tend to notice handbags, ask where you got it from or just tell you that they like them and seriously I feel like I get the same amount of compliments for whatever bag. I do think that there are some benefits to having a good designer bag, they will last you forever and bags are something that you will need to get a lot of use out of... but honestly Target has just as cute bags as Coach does. And I pretty much wait to get all of my Coach things on sale or at the Outlets because they may be "out of season" but that doesn't mean they aren't still cute. And I like to make my own rules instead of following others rules!

Bonus! Notice what people notice- This goes along with the last one, but I like noticing what people notice about me, and what I notice about myself. Don't go crazy with it, just take note. If you're boyfriend notices that you look cute or something, think about that when you see him. Sometimes maybe you see people looking at your shoes or they ask you where you got them. I've noticed lately that I think guys I don't know find me more approachable if I'm wearing my glasses. I'm not totally sure, it used to be that people thought I was really smart when I wore them, now I wear more hipster-ish glasses and I think people think I'm friendlier or something because of them.

Not saying change who you are based on what other people think, but if you're wearing a make up look or an outfit that you really like and someone notices and compliments you on it...that just proves that you're doing something right. Even like when I take a selfie on Instagram, if there is one I didn't like... I still try to post it because it doesn't look as bad as you think most likely. I feel like its a bit of a self-esteem boost to do that because its like "hey these are my insecurities. You can see them, you can like them or not. I don't care, still posting." #yolo lol.

Anyway that is it... I like doing these kinds of posts. Might try to do more, but I don't think I have a whole lot of tips and tricks... but still!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
