Chart Chat! 11/28/16

Alright... I'm a little surprised at this week's chart chat... but let's just jump into it! I'm also super tired... so I feel like this will be an abridged top 10!

10) The Edge of Seventeen I want to see this... but I'll probably wait till its on TV. It looks good... but there are so many movies out right now and this doesn't seem like one that you need to see in theaters the way I think Fantastic Beasts or even Moana is.

9) Hacksaw Ridge - Sounds good... but too serious compared to the kids movies at the top of my "To See" list. Lol.

8) Almost Christmas- Probably not a bad movie... probably won't see it because again... it looks sad!Just realized I don't need an Again here... I wrote this list backwards... so that's why some of my phrasing doesn't make much sense. Again I'm getting ready for a nap.

7) Bad Santa 2- I never saw the original Bad Santa... I probably should someday but its so sad its not really on the top of my list of movies I really want to watch at Christmas. I feel like a sequel to this is something people are probably skeptical of... but with Kathy Bates as Momma Bad Santa... it sounds a lot better.

6) Trolls- Cute... definitely thought this would have been higher on the box office this weekend... but I guess with Moana, Fanstastic Beasts and Doctor Strange all being family movies, this one kinda falls short on the list of "Ohhh yeah we have to see that." Despite having a good soundtrack and probably a great cast of voices as well.

5) Arrival- Again... I want to see this but its a movie I think you really really need to be paying attention too.

4) Allied- I want to see this movie when its on TV... Sandy Kenyon said that this movie was pretty bad and that the chemistry between the two leads was abysmal... but I can get past bad on screen chemistry for a movie... idk. Maybe its because I watch a lot of TV and when there's bad chemistry on a TV Show (I'm talking to you Sookie and Eric) its a little hard to watch... but if the story in a movie is okay, usually it isn't terrible to at least half watch... and I think this is going to have a good story with it. I don't see how the "is she a spy? Is she not a spy?" Aspect can be all that boring... it sounds a little like Mr. and Mrs. Smith... but better.

3) Doctor Strange- Again... I don't really know what this is about and I'm not super interested... but Benedict Cumberbatch looks pretty hot and People seem to really love this since it is still doing so well!

2) Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them- I think I'm seeing this tomorrow... so I will hopefully have a review on this soon! I'm excited. Apparently it doesn't really feel like Harry Potter until the end. I think Grindelwald and Dumbledore are involved... idk either way it sounds like a really great movie on its own and its pretty cool that there really wasn't a book to go with this. I'm excited for it!

1) Moana- Judging by how excited I am for this movie and how much I love the music of Lin Manuel Miranda and I love the Hawaiin theme and The Rock and the new girl who is voicing the princess... I shouldn't be THAT surprised that this is #1 this week... but I really really thought Fantastic Beasts was going to win it again. It just goes to show you, Disney is smarter than ever now! They have a very charming team with the two leads in this movie and Miranda... plus a new Disney Princess that is Polynesian, which we've never seen before... and it seems like its just as fun for girls as it is boys. A lot about this movie reminded me of Hercules and Mulan. Those movies are kinda just kids movies, not girl movies or boy movies... just plain kids movies with adventure and singing and fun. So yeah! Smart move, Disney!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
