Scribbles About Movies: Cars 3 Teaser Reaction+ Thoughts

So I wasn't really planning on doing this... but EVERYONE is talking about the new teaser for Cars 3... and I needed to do this after watching the teaser.

Slight warning: This teaser involves a Car Wreck where the car spins around and looks pretty bad. If you have children... maybe wait until the official trailer comes out, I was a sensitive kid, this would have made me cry. Also if you are an adult that has been in a car accident... this could be kind of triggering. People get PTSD after being in bad car wrecks... this could easily trigger something in a lot of adults too... it is a little hard to watch. Cars are scary. I'm guessing they are showing this before Moana and maybe Rouge One... Just be careful if you are going to see any movies in the near future. If you see animated cars, it might be a good time to look away or leave the theater for about a minute.

So yes... this starts out normal. All the cars are racing, it looks like its rainy out, Lightening McQueen takes the lead and then he flips and starts spinning. You can hear labored breathing from him, so I think he's okay and he's still breathing. But then text reads "From This Moment Everything Changes." And then it says "Summer 2017" and that the film is not yet rated.

Okay... so if you thought the Sausage Party trailer was bad before a Pixar Movie... this might be worse... but there are some things to realize.

1) I'm sure Lightening McQueen is fine! As I said there is labored breathing... so you can hear that he is still breathing and that I think means he is okay.

2) Pixar often does not use the moments from the teasers in the movies themselves. I'm sure this definitely sets the tone of the movie... but it might not actually be in the movie itself. The movie might take place after McQueen gets in a wreck.

3) This is dark for a Cars movie and pretty Dark for a teaser... but it seems about the same level of darkness that most Pixar movies do have, so I can't imagine it being too different from the Pixar movies we know and love. It will probably have a similar message as the other movies. I kind of think Cars was missing that quality and while I think that is a good thing for kids... it also makes sense to include something in here.

I personally think it might be a Cars movie for Adults. As someone who loves Pixar... I've only ever seen the end of Cars 2 and I've seen the first one only a few times. I love John Lassater and I think he really is an artist and that Cars Land in Disneyland California Adventure totally proves it! I think this will make me appreciate cars a little better... I don't think it will be too much darker from the average cars movies... but the teaser is certainly pretty dark! I can't wait to see the official trailer!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
