Throwback Thursday: A Very Potter Sequel

So here's what I thought was the better of the Very Potter Musical series years ago... and this time I have to say... I didn't like it better than the original. I liked that it was kind of a sequel and a prequel and there were a lot of great scenes and jokes... In this one we actually see James and Lilly and that I thought was a nice touch that was missing from the first musical... and we get to see a little of what Harry and Ron's lives were like before Hogwarts... which is also cool.

I thought a lot of the characters in this one were really funny, or they had funny bits as opposed to the original movie. I always thought Umbridge was really funny, I liked the Scarf of Sexual Preference, Sirius, Lupin, Wormtail, Arthur Weasley.... just a lot of really funny. Lucious Malfoy was good too... and I have to say I wish he was in it a little bit more. He's a really good singer and he was in the end of the musical quite a lot and I just kept thinking "I wish he had been in the beginning a little bit more."

I did like that Dumbledore had a little more of a big role. He's very talented, he also played Jafar in Twisted and I just really like him. I liked his flirtation with Umbridge and then he found out that she was a woman and disapparated. It was just really funny.

The problem I have with some of the Starkid musicals is that it gets kind of weird in the 2nd act... this was a little weird in the 2nd act. I didn't like when Umbridge's mother was haunting her... I just thought that was a little too much. Idk it was funny... but if they didn't have that in there, I would have thought Umbridge was still crazy and evil. It didn't do all that much and it was just a little too weird.

And the character "bits" in this one were pretty funny. Malfoy's diaper, Lavender Brown crying, Cho Chang as the "mean girl", Ron having a crush on Hermione and not noticing it, just a lot of funny stuff that I thought was good and a fun change from the first musical a lot.

I also don't love the Prisoner of Azkaban... so maybe that's why I didn't love this one a whole lot... they aren't bad... I would still recommend reading the Prisoner of Azkaban, seeing the movie and seeing this too if you really like Harry Potter and if you like musicals. It's just a funny thing. I like the Starkid musicals a lot... this just isn't as good as the first Very Potter Musical. It was still really funny... just less good than I remembered.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
