Scribbles About TV 3/6- Emotional This Is Us, How To Get Away With Murder Season Finale+ More!

Alright... so I think I'm combining some weeks here so this might be extra long... but we'll see what happens I guess?

Monday 2/20

Jane The Virgin- This was a good episode. It gives us more insight into what Jane is like now. We can see her getting over Michael's death and stopping her therapy treatments because she thinks she is ready for that... and I think they did that in a pretty good way. It was nice to show that Jane does get anxiety and Panic attacks and what she can do to help... and how she doesn't always handle it the best.

Side note: I kind of think Jane's going to date that guy... and I don't totally trust him... I'm still team Raphael even though it looks like he's been up to some shady business.... and I love Petra. Idk why, I think even though I might seem like I'm like Jane... I'm really just like Petra. Lol.

Tuesday 2/21

The Middle- I didn't fully pay attention to this show... I was eating dinner at the time... it wasn't bad though. I liked Axl's storyline with the Winnebago and I liked Sue's story with the guy and that he had a girlfriend and I was just yelling at Sue the whole time like "SUE! HE LIKES YOU!" lol. It was cute.

American Housewife- I don't think I really saw the whole episode of this either... maybe I did. I like Katy Mixon a lot and I love Jessic St. Clair, who played her rival in the episode... I thought that they did a great job as frenimies who were really just enemies. Also Katie was sitting on the chairs... it doesn't matter if Chloe (Jessica St. Clair) grabbed the tag... THEY'RE CHAIRS! Whoever is sitting on the chairs gets the chairs!

This is Us- I'm not gonna cry... I'm not gonna cry... OKAY I'M CRYING! I kind of knew that this was coming. I follow Jasmine Cephas Jones on Instagram and she posted about it and how she was proud of her dad, Ron Cephas Jones, who plays William on the show... and I knew that was it. And it was a very sweet episode... also one thing to note: there were no white characters on the show except for Milo Ventimiglia's character Jack... That's something I'm trying to notice when they do on TV because it is so rare to have an episode of TV on a major network without most of the cast being white, or without straight white men. Crazy Ex Girlfriend actually did 4 episodes in a row without any Straight White Men... and that was pretty unique. I didn't know that but then I saw This youtube video. That's kind of a big deal because of the lack of diversity of TV and... yeah. I won't get into that... it's just nice. It was a good thing for This is Us to do that. I'm all about Equality here!

Wednesday 2/22

The Goldbergs- Yayyyyyyy! I watched this one on Tivo! I missed it live for the most part... but I was so happy at the end! I like that Erica finally confessed her love and she got the guy! It was really sweet!

Speechless- Wasn't paying much attention... but I think it was okay. I'm sure it's something a lot of parents can relate to- especially with Special Needs Teenagers... I think they had a group get together and Minnie Driver's character was trying to one-up the moms.

Modern Family- Kinda forget what happened... I think I mostly paid attention to Cam and Mitch's story... I don't really remember much though. Can't tell you what it was about at all... lol.

Blackish- I was tired this night and loosing interest in things apparently... this one stood out though because Andre was on a jury... and the kid in question of the crime was black and although evidence was strong that he committed the crime... nothing really proved it and it wasn't really "a jury of his peers" because Andre was the only black man on the trial... so it's just kind of a problem I'm sure happens often. I've never had jury duty... so I can't really comment on the diversity of it all... but this was an episode that stood out when I wasn't paying attention to the others.

Thursday 2/23
Life In Pieces- Another funny episode! I love this show! It was a pretty cute episode too... the "awkward" storyline was funny and cute and the "bra" storyline had me cracking up.

How To Get Away With Murder- This was the best episode yet! I go back and forth about how I feel about this show... sometimes its too hard to follow and unrealistic... and some episodes just nail it... this episode nailed it. Viola Davis gave a great performance, the twist with Laurel was awesome! Everything just worked for this!

Monday 2/27
Jane The Virgin- I love this show! I thought the episode was really great too... I wasn't too big of a fan of Abby or Ally or whatever Minka Kelly's name was... but I figured they would have some sort of twist with her because they wouldn't get a big name like Minka Kelly for a boring role. And I liked Jane's struggle as a writer... and as a mother! And I loved the editor... she's really good!

Tuesday 2/28
Fresh Off The Boat- This was cute! I was going to give a full synopsis of what happened because I didn't remember but the youngest kid (Evan?) found out about Dishwashers and then Jessica got mad because Eddie used it without telling her and then Eddie got accused of stealing a cd that was his and she didn't believe him. And Louis was having trouble acting in a commercial. It was very genuine how Randall Park portrayed it! It seemed like he was genuinely messing up!

The Real O'neals- I don't usually watch this show... but I watched it! It was alright. It was a Valentine's Day episode and it was good. It had a Christmas Carol vibe and a first love breakup type vibe... I kinda wish this show was set in the 80s or 90s like The Goldbergs and Fresh Off The Boat... it just seems like an old school show and I think it would translate better in one of those decades.

Wednesday
The Goldbergs- This was a really good episode! Parody of the Karate Kid... also a parody of the twitter feud between the actor Adam Goldberg that played Chandler's roommate Eddie on Friends and Adam F. Goldberg- creator of The Goldbergs. Plus Erica and Jeff were getting together... even though I think in the end they sort of didn't... it was a good one. One of the best maybe... yeah. I would say one of the best!

Modern Family- This was pretty funny... and kind of had a good twist at the end even. I wasn't paying all that much attention... but it was good! I liked it! I'll have to watch it again to get the full effect.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
