Throwback Thursday: Crazy Ex Girlfriend Season 1

One of my favorite shows is the very underrated Crazy Ex Girlfriend... and when I say underrated I mean the ratings are bad... I'm pretty sure there is a lot of critical hype that is very real and worthy of that sort of hype... I honestly didn't watch it live at all this year until the finale... it was all in my DVR... I had lost a little bit of interest to be honest after the first episode... but I bingewatched it all in one day pretty much and it was great... but that's season 2... let's go back to Season 1.

If you're only familiar with Season 2... Season 1 isn't quite as dark. It's definitely more silly than Season 2. It isn't like the darkness and the drama isn't there, it just isn't quite as dark. I have a feeling the show is getting progressively darker, and the Season 2 finale was definitely the darkest so far.

The show is meant to be a different spin on a Rom-Com. The girl moves across the country for a guy that has a girlfriend already, she barely knows him anymore and she quits her job where she just got promoted at... its just a funny story of a girl going kind of "crazy."

And even with all the musical numbers and fantastical elements... this feels very real. Like this is what really happens when a girl tries to move across the country for love. There are more issues and it doesn't always work out right away... it takes time and even then... it doesn't totally work out.

I can relate to Rebecca too. I had a boyfriend that moved away and I didn't move to where he moved to to be with him... and I don't think I'd ever be happy living where he lived... but the thought came up a lot and... now thinking of it I'm like "That's crazy! You wouldn't like that state." But you know... Rebecca learned to love West Covina and even has a key to the city... so maybe I'd like it... but no. I'm not moving there, It's not a thing that's not going to happen... but you know... I could relate.

I also used to be very into musicals... I still am... but this isn't a stretch from the way that I would think about things... which I've never admitted but I've never really admitted the thing above either... so we're just confessing things on this one and it's very chill... lol. Like if a teacher yelled at me I'd imagine singing a song about her or I'd think of a tv show and write a musical episode for that show. Or I'd listen to Lady Gaga and imagine a play about my life with the music of Lady Gaga... it's something I'm familiar with. Lol.

I really like Greg. I'm not upset that he's not on the show anymore... spoiler alert if you don't watch it regularly... but it's pretty good still without him on the show... and I would love for him and Rebecca to end up together... but this is a more realistic show and realistically the Rebecca/ Greg relationship wouldn't work. And I think it made the show as a whole overall better, as much as I loved Greg's character and would like it to be a little bit more of a fantasy and for them to end up together... but this just makes more sense.

Also I like the areas in Season 1 a lot... In Season 2 Rebecca moves out of her old apartment... they aren't at Home Base as much because Greg doesn't work there... and it's just a lot of stuff at Rebecca's office... which is really the only familiar place from the first season... so it shows that there is quite a contrast between the first 2 seasons.

So yeah... good season to re-watch. This is a show I can probably watch over and over and over again... not much of a throwback... but I still love it! It's really really good!

Byeee!

Scribbles about TV: Jane The Virgin Review!

This I think is a surprise hit, so of corse I needed to watch it for myself to see! It's been getting a lot of critical buzz because it has been reviewed as "one of the best pilots of the season" and I also have been hearing a few critics saying that they don't think it will last because the word "virgin" is in the title... which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin and if a show is good, its good and people should watch it... plus this did bring pretty high ratings for The CW so the critics that said that can suck it! Lol. Overall I really liked this show. One thing thats been bothering me a lot about the new Fall shows is that the characters aren't interesting enough. Especially the female characters. I thought that this showed a lot of really strong female characters that were interesting. This had a pretty big cast with A LOT of stuff going on for a pilot and most of the characters were female. That is a powerful thing to see on TV...

Scribbles About TV: Jane The Virgin Finale Review (SPOILERS)

So.... Can we talk about all the twists because there were a lot! I didn't even see all of them coming! Alrighty we start out in typical Jane The Virgin Mode with Jane's choice between Raphael and Michael... I'd be okay with either but I think I'm team Michael. Jane has a weird moment with Raphael and thinks she's better off without him and just having him be the father of her child. She's also starting to have some feelings for Michael again. Then she almost has the baby on the bus and some woman helps her and gets the bus driver to take her to the hospital. Rogellio and Xo are in Vegas and they get drunk and can't remember what happens, but they make it just in time to see Jane deliver a baby boy. I knew it would be a boy! Lets pause on that a little and go to Michael and his ex partner/friend with benefits who comes back says she has a lead on Sin Rostro, gives him an address where the plastic surgeon is and by the time Michael gets there, he's de...

Top 10 Dating Tips/ Suggestions

So I've been in a relationship for about 2 and a half years... but before that I was single... for a very long time. And I was on dating apps for about a year or so before that... so here's what I learned from those apps. If you want more specific relationship advice I have from being in a relationship... that one might be a little harder but I guess I could do a blog on that too? Idk... I'm not an expert but I think I have some good tips.  Find an App That Works For You  I feel like not all apps work for everyone. I started on Bumble- and I like the app. I love the idea of girls taking the first move- but... I HATE making the first move apparently. So I would just match with a bunch of guys... and never really knew what to talk about. Plus I like having A LOT of info in my bio and Bumble just doesn't give enough space for me. I only went out with 1 guy from Bumble I think and it was bad.  So after that I tried Coffee Meets Bagel... which is terrible. Maybe depending on...
