Scribbles About TV: Fuller House Review

If you like Full House, if you still think the jokes are funny even now in 2016 and you want a remake with the same types of jokes just slightly more 2016... you'll love this show. If you're a teenager or a little kid or you're looking for a family friendly show to watch with your teenager or little kid... this is a great one. I can totally 100% recommend this as a show that is fun to watch with your family and you'll probably enjoy it a lot that way. It really isn't a bad show... but its also sort of just as bad as Dr. Ken. And if you like Dr. Ken, that's fine, you'll probably really love this if you love Dr. Ken... but you know... I don't lol. So yeah the jokes were... trying. They really tried and they did a good job for the audience of the show and I'm not in that category. I wasn't excited for the remake, I liked Full House when I was little... but idk. I've seen them all. It was cute, but not my favorite show in the world. But it jus

Scribbles About Food: Kane Morning Bell Beer (with Rook Coffee)

So if you are a beer drinker or a coffee fan in New Jersey... you probably know about Kane Brewery and Rook Coffee... and they have a beer together called Morning Bell and I tried it a few weeks ago... and its interesting, so I figured I'd do a review on it. I've only done one other beer review on this blog for Not Your Father's Root Beer... and I'm not really a huge beer drinker... but I feel like I know about it enough to talk about it here... so yeah. Please only try this if you are 21 or over and drink responsibly! I'm 24 btw... people usually think I'm younger...so I'm just clarifying that in case anyone is like "Why am I taking beer advice from a teenage girl?" I'm not a teenage girl... so yeah. Happy Women's Appreciation Month! Lol. So this is basically beer combined with black coffee... which is weird. But the beer is good and Rook Coffee is not terrible black. As I said I'm not a huge beer drinker... but I also don't re

Scribbles About Music- What's Inside: Music from Waitress by Sarah Bareilles review

So this is sort of a different and exciting Scribbles About Music for me. This is another Musical, but the songs aren't the musical soundtrack... at least I don't think it is... idk. Basically there was a movie called Waitress that recently got turned into a musical and Sarah Bareilles wrote the music for it... and this soundtrack is her singing all of the songs... but I'm pretty sure she isn't actually in the musical. Got it? Okay lol. So really... I don't think this is a play that I'll end up seeing. I didn't see the movie, but it didn't look like something I'd really like. It seems sad, and I don't really want to see a sad musical. If this ever came out locally for a good price I'd see it maybe... but yeah.It looks good, but not my cup of tea... and I've got my eyes on Hamilton. Lol. But the music for this is fantastic! Sarah Bareilles did a great job on this. I love that the theme of being a waitress is featured pretty much in a l

Chart Chat: 1.28.16

Alright exciting Chart Chat this week! Movies  5) Allegiant- The Divergent Series last hurrah. I haven't read Divergent yet... need to do that. Then I'll see the movies now that they are all done. I'm not one to really keep up too much with these movies... but I like Shayleene Woodly and I loves me some Ansel Elgort... so yeah. I'll see this in 3 years or something maybe. Lol. 4) Miracles From Heaven- This is one of those movies that you don't hear a lot about but they come out around Easter and they get pretty high on the charts quickly because churches go to see them as a group... kind of a gimmick for ticket sales... but this movie actually looked good to me. Idk. I like Jennifer Garner and I'll watch her in almost anything, so I'd want to see this. 3) My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2- I know this got horrible reviews but I can't wait to see this... people really don't understand My Big Fat Greek Wedding and I think they are getting this one eit

Weekly Wrap Up Easter Edition! 3/27/16

Favorites  Pure Leaf Iced Tea- I might do a review of these soon cause I love them and I've tried most of the flavors and I like all but one... so yeah. These have been a big favorite recently. So far I think my favorites are Peach and Raspberry. I like the Iced Tea Lemonade too. These are great. Dance Lessons- Yep I'm taking Dance Lessons and its really fun! So I'm saying its a favorite! I like it a lot.I'm not great... but I'm doing okay and I'm having fun with it. Instagram- Was this a favorite last week? I've been really liking it, I actually just started a new account for beauty reviews called Shannonsreviews. Its been fun. My regular instagram is called Shannonsface if anyone wants to follow that. Highlights  Thursday was a big day. I won a radio contest, went to Ulta, took dance lessons and then at 1am I was actually able to order the Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette that I've been waiting for! Friday I had dance lessons again and Saturday

Scribbles About Life: I Won a Radio Contest

So a couple days ago I actually won a radio contest! I know its nothing that unusual or special... but it was the first radio contest I won! And I was happy with it. The prize was a chocolate bunny filled with butter cookies from a local chocolate shop... that I've actually won something from before at a gift auction... I have good luck with things... Maybe I'll talk about that too. So the question was one I knew right away because it was an english related question. Which author was born on the same day as a Hailey's Comet and died 2 days after a Hailey's Comet... do you know... I'll wait for you to guess... Mark Twain! It's Mark Twain lol. So I knew it right away and I was like "should I call? I kinda want those cookies and chocolate..." And so I did call and the woman was really nice. I thought I was going to be nervous and sound stupid, but people on the radio are very nice and friendly... and she really was. She had to ask for my birthday and

Bridesmaids Diaries: Dance Lessons-1

So yesterday was my first dance lessons! My family are all really really horrible dancers. Elaine from Seinfeld looks really good compared to us... so we were all kind of dreading this. And honestly... not the worst thing! I actually had fun, I think my parents and the bride and groom had fun too. I didn't have an actual partner, so the instructor was my partner... and I think I did a little better than all of them because of that... lol. My parents told me I did a really good job and I said "its because I had a professional instead of one of you idiots!" They thought that was funny. The instructor was really good too. These are real teachers and they're really really good. They'll tell you how to do something and then they'll start talking to you and you'll just sort of do it without really noticing. So that's the best way to do it. The one thing I tried not to do was look at my feet. You're supposed to look at your partner and not at your f

Bridesmaid Diaries: Red Bank Wedding Walk Review

So this is a fun one! The Red Bank Wedding Walk is always a big deal in NJ. And Red Bank is sort of a touristy area... if you know NJ, you probably know Red Bank... but yeah I went there for that and it was fun... lots to do, lots of good ideas and stuff so I'll get into it. So basically you walk, or take a shuttle, to all these different stores in Red Bank that are trying to showcase why they are necessary for weddings, and they give freebies and pretty much everywhere had refreshments and candy and all of that kind of stuff. So this event wasn't necessarily the most useful for us because my sister's wedding is almost here and we already have most of what we need... but we had fun anyway and we want to go back next year! Lol neither of us will be a bride next year... probably. Lol. She won't I probably won't as I have no boyfriend... but whatevs you never know. Lol. And there are things you wouldn't really think of getting. Like there was a tea and spice sh

Feeling Slightly Uninspired...

So I'm not totally uninspired... lol. I've had the ideas but I haven't sat down to write them... so here's what I'm writing now. I'm watching periscope right now... and I was going to do a rundown of the day... but I don't feel like it. Lol. Expect a Bridesmaid diaries tomorrow... and maybe Friday... I want to do a review on the new Shondaland show and I have a cool Scribbles About food about a beer coming up. Lol. Byeee! -SHannon

Scribbles About Food: Lay's Korean BBQ

So this is interesting. I've never had Korean BBQ before... so this is my first experience with it... and idk that I'm going to judge Korean BBQ just on this... lol. I still want to try it... but this was not my favorite. This isn't bad, I'll start off with that. I'll finish the bag, I only have a small bag... but it has kind of a weird after-taste. Idk if that's because I don't really like anything fake-meat flavored... idk why I've tried some that I like... but its still a weird thing to me. I would prefer it just be barbecue sauce and I think this might have some sort of a chicken or pork taste to it and thats what's making it a little weird... or maybe I just don't love the Barbecue sauce in it... but its not the best. And its hard to explain... the other day I tried an Iced Tea that tasted like Nail Polish Remover... and this is sort of like that... but its not quite as strong. Its like there's a tanginess to the sauce that made it t

Scribbles About Food: Dove Chocolate Cream and Coconut Cream Eggs (and a random story)

So my mom and I were a little confused about the Dove Chocolate Cream Eggs. My mom didn't know what the filling was, she just thought the Chocolate part was because they are chocolate eggs. She thought the Cream would be coconut... I said probably not coconut because it would have to say its coconut for allergy reasons. So she was disappointed when she bit into it and it was just a chocolate cream egg. And then she realized "Ohhh Chocolate Cream Eggs." And it took me until just now to realize it practically... lol. I'm smart but I've been slow with things lately:  Side Story: I saw the Oscars and when Brie Larson thanked her boyfriend Alex Greenwald, I was like "that name sounds familiar." And then I read an article about how you knew Alex Greenwald. It mentioned that he was in the movie Donnie Darko as the guy that bullied Donnie Darko and I was like "Ohhh the guy from Phantom Planet was in that movie as the guy that bullied Donnie Darko. They

Weekly Wrap Up: 3/20/16

Favorites  Big Love- This has been mentioned before... but season 2 is wayyy better than season 1. Season 1 wasn't bad... but there were a lot of storylines they just kind of gave up on and never mentioned again. Season 2 hasn't been like that and I'm almost done with it. Instagram- I've been having some fun with Instagram! I created another account called Shannonsreviews and I like it a lot. Coach Outlets- I really like the Coach Outlets. They had 50% off this week. I may or may not have gotten 2 bags in 2 days... lol. Highlights  Sunday and Tuesday I went to the fancy mall. Friday and Saturday I got coach bags at the outlets... oops. Noteworthy Snacks  I tried an Irish Cream Nut Chiller from Gloria Jeans and I really liked it! I tried the Superman Cereal and it was awesome! I may do another scribbles about food... if I haven't already. There are so many Scribbles About Food this month its not even funny... I'm sorry lol. I had a frog cupcake f

SKN: The Shannon Kahermanes Network- Fake Reality Shows

So a year ago today (March 16th) I wrote the funniest Facebook status updates I ever wrote... and I may have done a blog on this already... but I'm writing it again anyway because it still makes me laugh. How it started:  "Just so everyone knows... there is a show on the Oprah Winfrey Network called 2 Fat 2 Fly. This is where we are in the world right now." "Now I'm just going to write things that aren't reality shows, but should be all day... " The SKN Lineup:  "The Mopp-pets: A show following rich people learning how to use a mop." " The Full Housewives: A show where we just make families live in the full house house for a year and re-enact the zany antics that were on the show in real life. Without Modern Technology." "Coming Soon to the Shannon Kahermanes Network (or SKN) A new game show called Is It Poison? It's like Deal or No Deal, but with a deadly twist." "SKN regrets to inform you that Is It

Fitbit Friday: 3.18.16

March 4th  I'm terrible at doing logs of these... so this might be boring... but I know I said last time I wanted to keep it around 5,000 every day in March... but I had my time in this round... and I know I didn't do that many most days because I just didn't feel good because of that and I didn't want to move... so I know I didn't make my goal of that being the lowest. Maybe April... idk. Lol I want to do that one month. I need to actually log these every day cause I suck with that... and I haven't been doing that at all... it is March 16th and I'm writing this... ughhh! lol. March 5th  4,496 alright not bad. I think I slept in this day... and I was in the car a lot this day. I went into Ulta and thats how I got most of my steps... but other than that... not too much. So yeah. That was okay! 1 March 6th  I don't think I even wore my fitbit that much this day because I just felt crappy. I only got 1,959 steps. We also were driving a lot this day

March 2016:It List

So here are my favorite things for March! I feel like this is a tricky one cause so far I've been liking things for a few days and then getting bored with them... so lets see what happens. Lol. 1) Big Love- This is weird... idk why I started watching this really... but I sort of wanted to watch a movie, but it was too late to watch a movie, so I started watching this. Its an older HBO show... but not too old. Its about a man that is a polygamist and he has 3 wives and it shows their struggles and a polygamist compound that his parents live in... its crazy. A lot of stuff happened in the very first episode. And the rest of the show is kind of the same. A lot of times there's a lot going on, and sometimes its just like a regular family show... its such an interesting shift and its pretty good. Chloe Sevigny, Ginnifer Goodwin and Amanda Seyfried are all in this show. And Deb from Napoleon Dynamite! Which is pretty cool! 2) The Wicked Soundtrack- I've been into musicals lat

Scribbles About Food: Filled Cupcake Oreos

So I have a ton of Food Scribbles this month... and I just did one yesterday... but Idk how limited edition these are and they need to be mentioned because they are pretty amazing. So I had to eat 3 of these to really appreciate them. At first I liked them, but I didn't really see the difference of them and regular oreos... then I tried another one and it seemed almost like a cookies and cream type of thing. Idk like there are little crumbs on it and that was really really tasty. Then I twisted it open and ate it like that... and thats kind of the key to eating these. If you do the Twist and Lick, these are for you! So you can kinda see when you twist it open, you can tell it has icing like on those Drake Cakes Cupcakes... so good! And the little cream in the center is just really good. I really really like it. Its different and it just tastes really good. Like its different but its not like "What the hell, this isn't an oreo its a cupcake." And Oreo has brownie

Scribbles About Food: Cadbury Egg Cookies

So like these are very much like the crunchie cookies, but these ones taste a lot different than the Candy Source Material. Don't get me wrong, these are delicious. The Chocolate on the outside is good, the cookie on the inside is good, and it is pretty wonderful to have a bit of the Cadbury Cream inside of a delicious cookie... but the problem is its just a bit. With the Cadbury chocolate eggs, you get a lot of cream within the egg itself... not so with this one! It isn't bad, I kind of like that its just like a kiss of Cadbury Cream in the middle... but I want more. Which sounds inappropriate but I just expect my Candy Cream Filling to be a little more present and not just give a slight hint of a taste. So are these good... they aren't bad. But do I think they aren't as good as the Crunchie Cookies, they aren't as good as a regular Cadbury Cream Egg... and they just would not be my first Easter Candy Snack of choice... so I'd say no. These aren't bes

Story Time: Spencer and The Bird

So here's a cute and sad story that really did happen today. We have this big open window at my house, and my dog Spencer likes to look out the window and bark at anything he sees. But today it was a little different. Spencer was looking up at the sky and he was crying. And it was such a sad sound and we didn't know what it was. But then I said "Is there a birdy? Are you crying at the birdy?" And there was a bird on  the wire all alone... and that was sad! My mom noticed that she thought it was a Morning Dove or a Love Dove and usually those are in pairs, but it was all alone on the wire. And it was a rainy, gloomy day so it was kind of a sad day anyway... especially for a bird all alone on the wire. And Spencer kept looking up for him and barking and howling at him and scratching on the window to get out. It was really sad and really sweet that he was looking after this bird. I thought of the bird as his "Woodstock." Like Snoopy's friend Woodstock

Weekly Wrap Up- 3.16.16

Favorites  Wicked Soundtrack- I've clearly been especially into musicals lately... and I decided I wanted to listen to the Wicked Soundtrack... and I love it. It makes me kind of weirdly emotional. I want to read the book soon, even though I know the book is different. I kind of want to see the play again too... lol. Maybe eventually. Idk I saw it when I was a teenager and I kind of want to see it as a grown up. Its got such good music and from what I remember its the best set and the best effects for a play ever. So yeah. Not the most fun musical I've ever seen... but its good. I'm a little disappointed that the soundtrack is so short though. It only has 12 songs... what the heck? Hamilton has so many! Lol. Something Rotten Soundtrack- This I started listening to after I got bored with Hamilton too... lol. I loveee this play. The cast is the best I've ever seen... so the soundtrack is perfect! My favorite song this week has been Right Hand Man. I sang Make an Omle

Scribbles About Music: Shuffle the First 6 Songs... Hamilton Edition

So I did this before... and I thought I'd do it again, but with a twist... I'm going to do my favorite album of the moment and give mini reviews on the first five songs. Since my favorite album of the moment is the soundtrack to Hamilton... I thought I'd share 5 songs from that! 1) Non-Stop- This is a great one because it kind of has a little of everyone. It has Hamilton, Aaron Burr, Eliza, Angelica a little Washington... all really great parts. This is also the last song of Act 1... so its an important one. It sets up that Hamilton has succeeded, he's become Washington's right hand man and has everything he could want... but he still wants more for the country and he is very ambitious, and that does kind of lead him to his doom... but its still better to be a Hamilton than a Burr. 2) Farmer Refuted- This song is really clever and I think its kind of an underrated one. Hamilton is arguing with a Loyalist and he's rapping while the other guy is singing and th

Scribbles About Food: Cadbury Crunchie Cookies

So this is pretty new... I haven't had a Crunchie Bar in a long time... but they are my favorite British candy. They are the best! I really like them. And them in a cookie form just makes sense! There's another british cookie called Fox's... I can't get them where I used to before because the store is no longer open. Idk if they are readily available anywhere in the US. Maybe World Market or somewhere would have it... I haven't seen it in years... but yeah. So these taste like the Crunchie bars, and also kind of like twix. The cookie... or biscuit lol. Is just like a shortbread cookie. Its really good. Its got a nice honey flavor to it, and the chocolate and the cookie mixed with the honeycomb flavor is just awesome. I feel like this combines my favorite food of all nations. Twix is probably my favorite American candy bar, Crunchie is my favorite british candy bar... and together ... so I thought this was going to be an all together win anyway... but its extra g

Scribbles About Life: 3.10.16

Soooo... I don't really want to post about my day... but I don't really want to post anything else either. I started writing something about female characters in movies and TV... but I just didn't like what I was writing and... idk... I was a blog writing machine this week and now I feel defeated. I wrote a ton on Monday and Tuesday and now I just don't feel like doing a post today... but I want to write still... So I'll talk about things that I guess are on my mind lately... Idk. So I got this Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor... and for some reason... I'm addicted to the way that it smells. Idk why, it smells like cherry medicine... but I also sort of like it. Its more cherry than medicine... and I can't smell it on my lips... but Idk. I keep smelling it in the tube. I got some cute stuff from American Eagle yesterday too! I got a dress and a romper... I do not own any Rompers... except this one... but it looked good on me and it didn't make me look f

Scribbles About Food:Lay's Smoked Gouda and Chives Potato Chips

This is part of the Lay's Flavor Swap Challenge. I think this is different than the Do Us A Flavor... I don't think this was created by anyone other than Lay's... but you vote for which one you like better for a chance to win money. I like the idea a lot. So for this one they are comparing it to the "old" Cheddar and Sour Cream Flavor... which I don't think I've ever seen... I've never tried... I'm going to compare these to regular sour cream because that's kinda what they taste like to me. When you first bite into these its like "Wow. That is Cheese." But then there's a bit of a sour cream flavor... and its pretty good. If you really like cheese, I think you'll like this. And these to me taste a little more like chips with french onion dip than the regular Sour Cream potato chips. Maybe because of the chives? Not sure. I was a little scared of these cause I tend to not like the new flavors... I don't love sour cream

Scribbles About TV: The Family

So I was kind of half paying attention to this... but I think I was still watching it pretty closely because I was pretty into it! Its a good show! So... I don't think the acting is... the best. Most everyone is good... but the guy that plays Adam just isn't very good. I don't want to be mean because he is a kid, and I think he's doing his best. He might be doing a great job because he kind of has to act like a bad actor... but I just don't like him. But I do think its a hard role and he's doing a better job than I could have done... so he's not really a reason to not watch the show. And the other characters... I didn't think anyone was amazing to be honest... but I think they may just need their characters to develop a little bit better and I think there's going to be a lot of character development. The show has a lot going on with it... The main story focuses on a missing boy who was assumed dead when he was 9 years old and he shows up 10 yea

Chart Chat: 3.7.16

Alrighty! I think I'll do box office, music and iTunes movies... to see if the Oscars made a difference in that. So here we go! Start off with music! Music  5) Stressed Out by Twenty One Pilots- Lol. I was watching a Periscope with Brendon Urie from Panic at The Disco... which is absolutely crazy btw... there are so many people on at once, I'm never able to comment and the people that do comment ask the dumbest questions that he doesn't answer over and over and over again... so that's annoying... but someone kept asking "Are you the singer from Twenty One Pilots" and he's not... lol. Anyway... this song I liked when I listened to the sample a few months ago... then I heard it on the radio and I was like... nahhh let's see whats on the other stations... and now I'm okay with it. So that's a weird journey for a song to take. 4) Work by Rihanna ft. Drake- Not really in a place to listen to the sample and comment on this right now... but I

Weekly Wrap Up: 3/6/16

Heyyy guys! Happy Sunday here's whats good for the week! Favorites  Big Love- The most random show to start watching at the most random time... but I like it. It isn't your typical show... but it shows ordinary people living in a different way than most people. Not your average family, it is about polygamy... but its interesting to watch and the characters are all really great! What We Do In The Shadows- So I'm trying to watch more movies and do posts on them... and I'll explain why I'm doing that when I finally post... but this was the funniest movie! It's so well done and clever... Its a fake documentary about vampires and its just really funny. One of my favorites I would say... really great. Can't wait to see We're Wolves. I hope they keep making these... I'd love to see a tv show of this. It's just a great concept. Birdman- Figured I'd mention this movie too cause I really liked it. No one I know likes this movie... but I thought

Scribbles About Movies: Trailer Reviews! Finding Dory and Ghostbusters

So I used to do these a lot... and I haven't done one since the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 trailer... but 2 important movies are coming up... so why not! Finding Dory  If you want to know what I'm talking about you can watch the trailer right  here . I love Finding Nemo. Its one of my favorite Pixar movies... and probably just one of my favorite movies. This is one of those movies that I can watch any time its on and just always enjoy. And this seems like the way to do a sequel for it. In the original, Dory mentions that she has a family... but she doesn't know where they are. She also talks in her sleep... and now she's started sleep-swimming and she remembers where she came from and she has to find her family. I like that this really plays off the original movie, but its about a character we know and love already and I think it will be a fun one to watch. Its a good follow up and I think the original movie is so loved and so good that it will seem like no tim

Fitbit Friday: 2/19/16-3/3/16

February 19th  Did not get to 10,000! I just got to 6,960. I'm not quite sure why. I think I was a little dizzy that day or something. But 6,960 is not bad. I think this was the day I saw Deadpool and hung out with my friends... so it would have been rude to try to walk around in the movie theater or while I was with them. February 20th  Eeek 3,930 steps! That isn't very good. I think I slept in that day and didn't want to move much. Lol. February 21st  3,007... Again... I was busy this weekend! We had people over... so it would have been a little rude. February 22nd  This must be when I went to the fancy mall. I got 10,195. February 23rd  Lazy day again. 2,356... yikes. February 24th  10,153. Must have went to the mall again or something... lol. February 25th  10,000 even! I think this was the day I was walking all around trying to get 10,000 and I got over but it wasn't measuring. Really frustrating! February 26th  4, 597. Again, I had something

Scribbles About TV: The Real O'neals

So when I saw the commercials for this I thought it looked like the worst show of all time... and it actually wasn't! It wasn't the greatest show of all time or anything... but it certainly wasn't bad. So the show follows this teenager mostly and he knows he's gay but isn't ready to come out of the closet yet... and I thought that seemed really real. I've never been through that situation so I can't really tell... but it felt very repressed and awkward and to me it felt like he was learning it about himself instead of just coming out to everyone else. I don't know... it was interesting. One thing I kinda had a problem with but also sort of liked was the male anorexia thing... I think its powerful to have it in the show and I applaud them for that... but I don't think it should be something that should really make fun of. I feel like male anorexia is probably almost as common as female anorexia but males don't always talk about things. I don&#

Scribbles About TV: Random Review- Big Love

So this is probably the most random show I've ever reviewed on this blog... its an older HBO show called Big Love. It started in 2006 and ended in 2011... and no one ever really talked about it much. It was under some controversy for an episode that showed a very private Morman ceremony... idk. Haven't gotten that far and don't remember much about that... but it made me curious to watch although that seems wrong to show a private ceremony... but it seems interesting to see. Lol idk. So what Big Love is about is polygamy. A regular guy owns a hardware store and happens to have 3 wives. I've only seen the first 2 episodes so far... but a lot has happened already! First off you meet his 3 wives. Barb, Nikki, and Marg. Barb is sort of the "control freak" if you could call her that. She's the first wife, she's the most... together I would say at this point and she's in control of the money and the days that each wife gets to be with him. I don't t
