Marvel Monday: Spider Man Homecoming Review

Okay so I've been trying to watch this movie for several weeks... and it isn't that I haven't been loving it... it's mostly that I start watching it at 1am or something and then I get too sleepy to finish it.

I feel like there are sooooo many Spider Man movies and I feel like my biggest problem with the first Amazing Spider Man movie was that it was similar to the first of the Toby Maguire's Spider Man movies. This one is good because they don't really go into anything that they do in any of the other spider man movies... You know that he was bit by a spider- you get the feeling that something maybe happened to his uncle... you get pretty much the full story without having to sit through the same thing for a third time... which is good. It gets right into the story and the action.

I feel like the action is pretty well paced alongside setting up the actual story of who Peter Parker is outside of Spider Man and what makes him who he really is. It sets up the high school really well- there are good callbacks to Captain America: Civil War... some references to the fact that he hasn't met Thor or The Hulk yet- which I think is kind of setting up Thor: Ragnarock a little. I just thought that that was cool.

I also like how the Marvel movies can change genres... and I think this movie is a good example of that. It's like a regular high school movie... but with a super hero and crazy weapons. And it's kind of cool that it shows us this is what High School is like in a world where there are Avengers. It's actually pretty cool.

I think my favorite part of the whole movie is when the lady buys him the churro and he tells Happy and then he says "I shouldn't have told him about the lady with the churro... and then Iron man brings it up... it's just super funny and it shows how young he is and how much he kind of values his city and all of the people in it. And I love when he's stuck in that one building and he talks to "Karen" the computer in his suit. It's just really funny and it just makes it so fun.

So is Tom Holland the best Spider Man... I'm not sure. I think Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield are really good too... but I'm kind of happy Tom Holland is our current Spider Man. I think he's really energetic and fun and I just think he's done a great job with it. Everyone involved in this Spider Man Movie definitely made it feel like its own thing and it definitely stands out with all the spider man movies and is a good way to introduce Spider Man to the MCU!

So that is my review of Spider Man Homecoming... This might be one of my actual favorites! I thought this was super fun!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
