Scribbles About Movies: The Incredibles 2 *spoilers*

Alright! I know I'm reviewing this a little late... but I don't get to see many movies- so I finally got to see this and I absolutely LOVED it!

First off... Jack Jack... very accurate representation of what a 1 year old is like. I babysit a 1 year old... it's exactly the same as the way they showed watching Jack Jack. It was so funny how exhausted and proud Bob was when he was watching him alone... it was so cute to see how proud everyone was of Jack Jack... his powers are the absolute coolest from any superhero ever... it was just really cool in general. So funny. I don't live anywhere near Disneyland and I probably won't get to go there for a long time, but this makes me kind of excited about Pixar Pier and how they have the Incredicoaster to go along with the movie... and Jack Jack's Num Num Cookies... those just look super yummy and I really want to try one. And I don't know if I could really stomach the Incredicoaster and I'm terrified of upside down coasters... but I think if I ever go there I need to try it just to see!

Also... I loved seeing Edna babysit him. The Incredibles has never been one of my favorite Pixar movies... but Edna's been one of my favorite characters forever... so I'm always excited to see Edna. Especially since she didn't design Helen's new supersuit. That was pretty funny!

Now let's get to Elasticgirl being the big hero of this movie...

Elasticgirl is another great character from the first movie. She's a strong, independent woman. She's more than just  a "mom" or "Mrs. Incredible"... not that anyone said that, but she really always uses her strengths to be the best Mom she can be and to help her family... and in this one we actually get to see her using her powers to help save a city! WHICH IS REALLY COOL! Okay... I may have accidentally hit the caps there... but still! I just really liked how she was always on top of what was going on, she always had a plan and even when everything seemed "solved" she was able to figure out who the real villain was. It was really cool to see, she's a great female influence. I love when movies have very strong mom characters... because sometimes I think Mom's aren't given enough credit for their strengths... and this movie definitely did give them a lot of credit.

They also show other strong female characters including Violet, Void, Edna of corse... and Evelyn Deavor... who if you can't guess by the name... is the villain of the movie! While I didn't think this was a shocking reveal... it was still a really good one that played out well and you could tell that there was a twist there.

And I always think any sort of hypnosis is really scary for a villain. The strobing effect in the movie also added a really creepy ambiance to all of it- which of corse there is a warning about. I think the Hypnosis thing scares me because for whatever reason that seems like the most "real" thing a villain could do and I think it could also obviously create a lot of damage... and I don't want anyone in my thoughts!  I really liked how they did that.

Also... frozone... another super underrated character that I thought was really great in this. I would like to see a Frozone movie too... I think that could be "cool." Hahahahaha get it! Cool! Because he's frozone!

So yes... I think I need to rank my Pixar Movies again... so I'm going to kind of do that now. I haven't seen Cars 2 or 3. This list sort of changes often... so keep that in mind. I recently watched The Toy Story movies... and that's kind of changed on my list.

18. Brave
17. Cars
16. The Good Dinosaur
15. A Bug's Life
14. Monster's University
13. The Incredibles
12. Finding Dory
11. Ratatouille
10. Incredibles 2
9. Wall E
8. Finding Nemo
7. Up
6. Toy Story
5. Toy Story 2
4. Toy Story 3
3. Coco
2. Inside Out
1. Monster's Inc

And... I think I can stand by this for now. I'm surprised its in the top 10 for me because I do really love Pixar and I just never really loved The Incredibles... but I think maybe this just came out at the right time for me because of Jack Jack. All these movies seem to come out at the right time though... So- that makes sense!

Anyway I hope you like this review or found it helpful and fun!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
