Okay... so right now it's June 18th and right after The Bachelorette ends- a show called The Proposal starts... and I'm confused as to what it's about. So I'm going to talk about it... discuss why I think we're being subjected to this and... then maybe review it? I'm sure its not on by the time I post this... so I don't think I'll actually give it a review... but you bet I'm watching it! Lol.
So this seems like one of those bizarre decisions that I don't understand. Like last summer they had a show that Mario Lopez hosted where people would play Candy Crush for a half hour... and I'm like... okay but I would rather see anything else... So that was a thing people thought would be a good idea.
Anyway now there's this show which is like a pageant... but at the end there's a proposal by strangers. Or maybe they aren't strangers because they mention "A Secret Admirer" and they keep emphasizing that these people will be matched with a proposal in one hour.
So like... that's a terrible idea. For a lot of reasons.
1) Pageants aren't even really a thing any more... so the idea of this being a pageant is weird. I think Miss America even said that they're changing to be a competition more than a pageant... it's 2018... This just isn't really something people like to endorse.
2) I feel like you can know someone for a long time and it's like... nope. Don't want to marry them. At least not yet. That's just kind of a bad idea.
3) Have you ever gone on a date with someone you met on a dating app and you had a really good feeling about them... and then you ACTUALLY met them and you're like "Ohhh. No. This was bad." Imagine being engaged to them. On TV.
And I feel like the only reason that this is a thing is that it's some sort of elaborate plot to something else.
I feel like maybe there's some sort of investigation on one of the contestants or something and maybe they wanted to get as much information as possible so that they could get them.
Or maybe it really is an end of the world scenario and this is how they're trying to match us up quickly to try to repopulate. Maybe after this people will go to that weird airport in Denver and lay low... I'm pretty fascinated by this airport so I feel like I've cracked this theory and this is what's really going on. Or it's like a "Cabin in the woods" type of scenario where someone is controlling these people. Either way... I'm not sure these people are making their own choices and I'm a little concerned.
Maybe someone just owed someone a favor on ABC and this is what became of that favor.
My last theory is that this is all just a game being played by rich people like in Rat Race... this seems the least sinister and most likely... so it's probably just this.
So I'm going to watch this now... and I might review this but I'm not sure how long I'm going to actually watch this.
OMG another theory- this is Black Mirror!
Bye!
