Weekly Wrap Up 5.7.17

Favorites

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert- I just decided to watch this show again this week… it seems like a good time lol. It’s really funny. Sometimes I’d rather watch Netflix or youtube or something like that instead of late night talk shows… but I sort of like having a daily routine at night… and Colbert and James Corden are part of it!

Pixar Music- I have a good cry over a lot of pixar music… that’s just been a thing I’ve been doing lately… and you’ll see some linked in the clickables… it’s a nice thing to have on in the background while writing.

Grace and Frankie- This was more of a favorite last week… but I finished it up this week… didn’t love this season tbh… but it was there. It was pretty funny… I’ll have a review soon! I think in a few days actually!

News And World Events

Jimmy Kimmel surprised his viewers… and the rest of the world with a very serious monologue about his Son’s healthcare needs. His son was born with a heart defect and needed to have surgery for it…he and his wife were very scared and now they’re just so happy that their little boy is alive and healthy. He also said that his heart breaks for the men and women that have to decide now if they can afford to save their child’s life… it is a very sad world that we live in unfortunately… and I hope his message is heard.

Twin Sisters both gave birth to baby boys on the same day, just hours apart… and I’m assuming at the same hospital? It was not planned, but the family looks very happy with their newest additions… and what an amazing story!

The Met Gala was this week. There is a strict No Selfie rule, but Kylie Jenner got a group of her friends together and took a mirror picture of the event. It’s always fun to see the crazy and elaborate dresses and suits. Katy Perry was the co host of the event this year… I believe Ana Wintour hosts it every year. J.Lo wore a really pretty blue dress… I love seeing all the fashion of it. I probably won’t do a blog post about the fashion of it… but it’s something I just like doing.

The Tony Nominees were announced this week! Dear Evan Hansen and Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 seem to be early favorites so far. I really like the music of both of those… the Broadway version of The Great Comet hasn’t been released yet and I haven’t listened to all of Dear Evan Hansen… but both look like amazing shows.

Kelly Ripa announced her new Co Host… Ryan Seacrest! Not a big surprise there… other than that he had to move to NY to do it!

Noteworthy Snacks
The Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cheesecake dessert things. These are good… I’ll have more on them in an upcoming Scribbles About Food.

PF Changs… it didn’t reheat well… I think I already have a Scribbles About Food on that, which I’ll link in the clickables!

Caramel M&Ms… ohhh boy! These are great! I recommend them… I have a Scribbles About Food on these coming soon!

Music
Married Life from Up… just listen to it with tissues… I beg of you! I’ll link it in the clickables… it is the most beautiful and heartbreaking song of all time.

Quotes
“That might sound boring, but I think the boring stuff is the stuff I remember the most!” - Russell from Up

Thoughts

If you think “Ohhh hey, everything is totally normal.” Something weird will happen.

Clickables

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
