Scribbles About TV: Great News

This is NBC's newest comedy and I was pretty excited about it... it looked funny... but it also looked like maybe it could have been bad... but everyone in it and everyone involved in making it is super funny... so I thought it would be something fun to review.

Basic plot of the movie: A grown woman has a close relationship with her helicopter mom... but she wants to get away from her kind of sort of- but her mom gets an internship at the news studio that she works at. And her mom is played by the amazing Andrea Martin.

So I think the cast of this show is really funny. Andrea Martin, Briga Heelan, John Michael Higgins, Nicole Ritchie, Adam Campbell and Horatio Sanz... all super super funny! John Michael Higgins particularly in kind of a starring role here... He really the star of the show... but he has a much more prominent part than he usually has... and he is so good in that role. He's just great! And is really perfect for this role.

I love Andrea Martin in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, I think she is really really funny in this. She's very funny, but she's also a really nice mom and you just like the relationship the two characters have even though it's a little bit strange... they're just very good together! Briga Heelan is really good also as being somewhat annoyed... but still totally loves her mom... it's just a great relationship and it makes for such a funny dynamic! They're just great together. They have the perfect chemistry...

And that is something that I would say about the cast overall! They have great chemistry great energy! The scenes with John Michael Higgins and Andrea Martin are amazing... and so are the scenes with Nicole Ritchie and Michael Higgins... PROPS TO NICOLE RITCHIE! Btw! If I had seen that she was on the show... I probably wouldn't have thought it would be very good... but she is so funny and she's just very good in her role. She seems slightly disinterested... if you were going to compare her to someone like Bud's girlfriend on Grace and Frankie... who is kind of similar... she's not quite as good as that actress... but I still think she does a great job and is a surprising delight as far as this show goes! I was happy to see her on this... I like Nicole Ritchie as a personality... so I thought it was good that she was on this show. It's good to see her again on tv.

The concept of the show is nothing that seems new or revolutionary or anything... yet it's a really funny and kind of refreshing take on a mother-daughter type of show. It's something you can watch with your mom and have fun with... and overall it's just really funny. I think if you like 30 Rock and Kimmy Schmidt you would like this a lot... if you're a reporter this is probably a funny show to watch... and it's just really good. A lot of people would like it and I recommend checking it out. For some reason I think this might not be something that lasts very long on TV... but I think a lot of people might really like it... so hopefully people are watching it and relating to it.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
