Throwback Thursday: Star Wars: A New Hope

So this is a longggggg overdo blog. I actually meant to do this blog last year... but I was pre-writing all of May's posts last year so that I could take off because it was so close to my sisters wedding... Didn't end up watching the movie again... watched the movies again in December- but again somehow I missed writing Throwback Thursday on it then.... I wanted to watch it again before today... but I just haven't done it yet... so we're doing a Throwback Thursday on something I haven't seen since December.

FIRST OFF! I need to get this out of the way... the name of the movie is Star Wars... it isn't A New Hope... it isn't episode 1, it isn't episode 4... It's Star Wars. I'm one of those people... BUT that would be kind of confusing to write as a title to the blog... so as much as I hate not calling it "Star Wars." That could be confusing because I am only talking about A New Hope. I don't want to call it episode 4... because that's implying the prequels are a thing and I need more alcohol to watch the prequels... I don't want to call it the original Star Wars because that sounds like the trilogy... and I don't want to call it the first star wars because that could be confused with The Phantom Menace... it is the first Star Wars Movie that came out. It's the one with the "Help Me Obi Wan Kenobe" It's the one where Obi Wan is alive. It's the one without Yoda... It is the worlds introduction to the Star Wars Universe... so that's an important thing.

I watched the movies after Carrie Fisher's passing... so I was paying particular attention to detail to Princess Leia and I have to say... I LOVE Princess Leia. She's one of the best female characters in any movie. I just love her. She's such a boss! She tells the guys what to do... she's not afraid to shoot the bad guys. Vader was going to straight up kill her! That's his daughter! She didn't need Luke or Han's rescuing... but she took it. She's just awesome.

Also Han Solo... *swoons a little* I have a big crush on Han Solo. Any time watching this I'm like "this is my type!" I feel like he was my first crush ever... he is kind of my soul mate... but also I think I am Han Solo... so my soulmate would be a dude like Leia... so if you're a dude that's kind of like Princess Leia... hmu! Just kidding... this is getting creepy fast so we'll move on to my least favorite character.

C3PO... not a fan! He's a little bit obnoxious. I don't totally dislike him... but he's in the first movie the most I think... and that is the reason I like it the least. Just the first hour or so it seems like the C3PO Movie... and I don't like that very much. I do like that he's the communications specialist but he has so much trouble communicating a lot of things. I like that the droids are legitimately guys in suits... that's pretty cool. I think the actor that plays him does a good job and he has a memorable voice and is great comic relief... just not my favorite part of A New Hope... so he's kind of what makes it my least favorite movie... he's not a bad character... he's just my least favorite... so that's what I think of him.

As far as the first movie in such an iconic franchise... this is excellent. It might be my least favorite of all the movies... but it's still very exciting and just a really really great movie. I'm a huge fan... re-watching it now made me love it even more. The Force Awakens made me love it even more... I loved the new and old characters... and it's just so so good. It is one of my favorite trilogies/ franchises... For sure the best Sci Fi movie ever... and I just love it! Love all the characters and it is just totally perfect! I would suggest rewatching it today for Star Wars Day!

Byeee! May the 4th be With You!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
