Throwback Thursday: Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back

So I just did a Feminist review of this on my other blog... on Star Wars day I did a review on A New Hope... now onto The Empire Strikes Back!

And again... I'm a little fuzzy on this because I saw it in December... maybe next year I'll do better reviews... but for right now... it's a little bit of a fuzzy review.

I didn't like this one a lot as a kid because Han Solo dies at the end... and I know he doesn't- they all save him... but when I saw it as a kid I was like "No I didn't like The Empire Strikes Back because Han Dies!" So that made me cry as a kid because as you know... Han Solo is my dream man!

I was nervous to watch this again... but actually it I ended up really liking it. As a kid I don't think I liked Hoth or the Wompa or anything... as a grown up- I think it's super cool that they opened the movie on a totally different planet than we've seen before... and that's kind of cool. It's definitely not repetitive in the way all the movies are. They all have a distinct tone and a lot of differences even though they're all parts of the same story!

I also totally forgot about Lando... and I really liked him! I was excited about the Han Solo movie before... but after seeing Lando again... I'm even more excited! He's just a really good character that we don't know a lot about... and it'd be cool to know a little bit more about him! And I'm a big fan of Donald Glover... so that should just be good!

I also didn't realize... this is the movie where all the stuff happens! Yoda is in this one for the first time... Luke finds out Darth Vader is his father. I think this is where Luke loses his hand... lots of stuff happens here!

I think that is everything I care to mention right here... this is definitely the darkest of the original trilogy and I think that is why people like it so much. I still think I like Return of The Jedi better... but I appreciated that C3PO wasn't in this movie too much!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
