Stuff That Happened This Week (5/25-5/31)

1) Nia Vardalos and John Corbett sign on for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2- This has to be the first news because Nia Vardalos is one of my biggest heroes in life. She's such an amazing interesting person with a really great story and she's so great. She does a lot of stuff for adoption and her husband is awesome and her daughter is great and I just love her. I know she's been toying with the idea for a while, I feel like she can write and act in whatever she wants and she's super funny... but I think everyone just wants a sequel for MBFGW and I think she wants this sequel too. I know her and John Corbett had a lot of fun making it, and they have great chemistry together, and I just think this will be great. I kind of think the first one was perfect as is and that they shouldn't change it by making a sequel... but at the same time I'm such a big fan of Nia Vardalos and her in general that I think it'll be great. I almost want to audition or write or something.

Feeling Lovely Friday: May Favorites

Skincare  Origins Charcoal Mask- if there is one thing on this favorites list I can absolutely recommend to anyone and everyone, it would be the Origins Charcoal mask. It is sooo soo amazing. I've talked about it in my it list, but this is just one of those amazing things that I could see immediate results with and I absolutely loved! It really cleaned my pores, it made my skin feel nice and smooth and it had a nice glow to it. I really really liked this. I'm probably going to buy a full sized because it was just soo soo good. It is $24, but honestly you only need to use it about once a week. It just worked really nicely and I love it. I know Freeman has a charcoal mask too which I may need to give a try next time I see it... We shall see! Make up  Loreal True Match Lumi Foundation- I know last month I raved about my Rimmel stay matte, and it kind of seems like I have a new favorite foundation every month, but this one is really great! I still love the Rimmel one because

Woman Crush Wednesday: Jessica St. Clair and Lenon Parham

Loving the ladies of the new show "Playing House" and here is why: 1) They have an adorable friendship- It's really great to see them on playing house because the two women are best friends in real life and they work together so brilliantly. They know all of each other's strength's and weaknesses and they play off each other and it just works so so well for them. 2) They are so so cute in interviews together- I love them together on interviews. I listened to The Nerdist podcast with them and Jessica knew all of Lennon's strengths and Lennon knew Jessica's as well. Jessica loved the way that Lennon could impersonate people that they just met and imitate them but she couldn't do it if you asked her to. Jessica can improvise also and is very funny, but she can't impersonate people on the spot like Lennon. The Comedy Bang Bang podcast they did recently also shows this. 3) The story of how they met shows that they are each other's biggest fans-

How- To-sday: How To Be a Better Blogger

Heyyy everyone. So lately I've been kind of crazy busy and I've been trying to organize this blog a little bit better, and I feel like I'm becoming a better blogger because of it. I'm sort of just starting to get organized now, I'm writing this at the beginning of May and not posting it till the end of May to see how I did. 1) Have Themes- I have to say, my themed days have made blogging a lot easier for me. I love Man Crush Mondays, Woman Crush Wednesdays and Feeling Lovely Fridays because I know what I will have that day every week. It's just a nice thing to know that I have something to post on those days. Having other themes that aren't necessarily on a certain day is good too. I like doing my Appyness posts, my Stuff that Happened this week, I've been starting Scribbles about news, Charty Charts or Trendy Trends or whatever I call it, It lists, Scribbles about dreams, mini movie reviews and trailer reviews... it's just fun to have themes for w

Shannon Reviews: The Other Woman

This is one of those movies I was a little disappointed in just because I feel like if I were to direct a comedy... I would do a little bit of a better job. That might just be me being arrogant, but the director of this movie was the same director of the Notebook, and I don't think he's a bad director... I just think this was his first crack at a comedy and it turned out a little weird. That being said, I did think this movie was a lot of fun, especially if you see it with your girlfriends. This movie was really a cute story and it was quite funny... But a lot of it was off just a tad. First off a lot of the lines were ADR added after the movie was off and it was quite obvious. Like there were full conversations between characters where it was quite obvious the actors were not in the same room at the same time. This was something a lot of people complained about with the fourth season of Arrested Development, so I know a lot of people would probably be bothered by this movie.

Stuff that Happened this Week (5/18-5/25)

1) Builboard Music Awards Recap- So I didn't watch it... but here is what I hear happened. Robin Thicke pleaded for his wife Paula Patton to come back to him while he was onstage at the awards. In some ways I think "Aww that's nice" but in others its like "okay... don't make this public." Like if someone did that to me, it wouldn't win me back... it would just embarrass me more. I think onstage at the builboard music awards is not the place I would want someone to try to win me back because it seems more like a publicity stunt than anything else. I feel like his public life is what lead to the downfall of their marriage... so it shouldn't be part of winning her back. Michael Jackson's hologram performed also... to which I say really? Can't we just let dead celebrities stay dead? I mean it would be absolutely awesome to see Michael Jackson still performing, don't get me wrong- but I feel like this "hologram" thing has bec

Appyness: Make it rain: The Love of Money!

Soooo I haven't done one of these in a bit, so I chose the #1 game on the App Store! Looks pretty fun and simple. You just need to swipe the money and see how much you get. Okay one thing I don't understand about this is that there's no time limit or anything... So it's kind of crazy. I've made $765 dollars so far, but I don't like the lack of stakes in this game... I think there is a lightning version so I need to do that. There's also options to get different power ups. Right now I have a paper route so I'm getting $2 instead of one, but you have to pay for that with the money you've earned from swiping. I should say this is just game money not like real things or anything... But yeah. Anyways I'm going to try the lightning round now. I need more steaks... Alrighty there are noo lightning rounds. I kept playing for a while, but this app is overall a stinker. How is this #1? Flappy Bird was better than this crap! Delete! This is just kind

Buzzed Beauty Products: Are They Worth The Hype?

Hey guys! Recently I've been trying out some more buzzed about beauty items... and I thought I'd let you know if they are worth the hype or not. Face  Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 foundation - This I feel like was very buzzed... A lot of people on youtube say its their favorite foundation, and it is not a bad foundation... but for my skin it wasn't the best that I've tried. My skin is a little dry, this clings to my dry patches. I was impressed with the long-lasting power of it... I've worn this foundation when I worked in retail and it was amazing, but overall was not my favorite. NYC Sunny Bronzer- I really like this. This is sort of a "fool-proof" bronzer that is very easy for beginners. I'm just starting to use Bronzers now and this is really great and easy to use. It's only a few dollars too, so it will definitely be a staple for my collection, even when I run out I will repurchase because it does not break the bank at all.

Tag Thursday: The Beauty Scenario Tag

1) You have to get rid of all of your foundations and you can only keep one drugstore and one high end... WHICH DO YOU CHOOSE!  I don't think I've found my major holy grail foundation yet, but so far my favorite is he Rimmel Stay Matte. I really think it's an amazing foundations. I was worried it would be too Matte for my dryer skin, but it isn't that matte. I feel like it just gives a nice flawless finish and it's actually got a nice coverage for a drugstore foundation. I don't have a high end foundation, but I would bring a primer with me instead... Never tried a high end primer, so idk if this is super cheating or not lol. 2) You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?  If I were in this situation I would totally want to know... But idk if I'd say something. I feel like it's just part of being human, it isn't all that embarrassing. I wouldn't want t

Shannon Goes VIRAL #2- Puppy Stands up, This is Carter & Other Cute Kids!

Hey everyone this is the blog where I will dabble into the world of online entertainment and rate each video and meme based on how I think it worthy. 1) Puppy Stands up- So this video shows a pomeranian standing on his hind legs after receiving his first summer hair cut. This is absolutely adorable. Apparently the dog stood like that for 2 days I think they said... absolutely amazing. Nothing was wrong with the puppy, the owner's just joke that the puppy is protesting his new hair cut. Also its funny because you can see the dogs dick... awkward. Bet he didn't know this was going to be a viral sensation. Instead of giving this a rating based on numbers... I'm just going to give this a standing ovation for the next few days. Bravo cute puppy! 2) This is Carter- This adorable BAMF is named Carter. This image gained popularity on reddit or imgur or something after someone posted "This is Carter. He knocked on my door, asked for a banana and then left." Now he is

Schedule-ish and some changes.

So I've posted over 200 things and now I feel like I have somewhat of an idea of what I'm going to post on. So every week I will have either a Man Crush Monday or a Woman Crush Wednesday. I'll alternate between the two, so this week I did a Man Crush Monday, next week I will have a Woman Crush Wednesday. I think at least once a month when I don't do a Man Crush Monday I'll do my chart review-type of blog (which I'm coming up with a name for) and when I don't have a Woman Crush Wednesday I will do a viral video review. This might only be a once a month type of thing... not totally sure. I may change the way I do Man Crush Monday and Woman Crush Wednesday and make it a little bit of a shorter listy type of blog.  I have a lot of How To-sdays coming up which I'm excited about. I may not do these every week, but I have so many planned right now... so expect a lot of those! I also want to still do movie reviews when I see them, Trailer Reviews whenever

How to-sday: How to do a basic special event look

Heyyyy guys so I don't have any pictures of my make up like freshly done or anything... I may try to take a pic of the outfit at the end of the night... Idk I'm writing this before the wedding so that I can remember the products a little bit better. Sooo first I primed my face with benefits porefessional primer and then I applied my rimmel stay matte foundation. I then used my ELF bronzing brush, which I just bought and like and used my chocolate sole I bronzer on the hollows of my cheek. I then used my elf small stipple brush and put on some of my sephora baked blush duo in guava glow and just put that on the apples of my cheeks. Then I took the other side of the elf bronzing blush and I used the upper part of the brush for my highlight in the physicians formula shimmer strips. For my eyes I used my Maybeline color tattoo in inked in pink and then I went into my Naked 3 Palette. I used burnout all over my eyes , buzz into the outer corners and a tad into the crease and

Man Crush Monday: Louis Ck 200TH POST!!!!!

Today is my 200th post and I figured I would make it a very special Man Crush Monday and post about my favorite male comedian of the moment and that is Louis Ck. I think that he is one of the funniest people that exists like in the whole world. And like his humor is so simple, but it's something that I don't think anyone other than him could pull off! He is just absolutely fantastic, one of the funniest people alive. And he jokes about a lot of things too! He has jokes about masturbating, and about literature, about horrible thoughts he has and the stupid and mean kids in his kids class. If you're somehow living under a rock and haven't seen any of his stand up, go watch it right now! He is the funniest person ever and I can listen to his stand up all day... and I pretty much have and it does not get old to me. His show is one of the funniest shows on tv too! It's just so brilliant. I love that there's a balance between humor and the heartwarming nature of t

Stuff that happened this week (5/11-5/18)

1) Eminem apologizes to his mother in new music video- I'm not a huge Eminem fan or anything, but I like his stuff and I remember him from back in the day... and he did not like his mother or his ex-wife very much. I think I saw 8 mile but I don't remember it that well and I think he really expressed a LOT of his feelings towards his mother and he really hated her. I think this is kind of a nice tribute and apology that he's doing this and I was kind of shocked when I read that this was the subject of his music video. I remember seeing his mom on 20/20 or something and she seemed completely normal...but I don't know. It kind of seemed like she was maybe a little cold towards him. I have no idea the state of their relationship, but its always nice to apologize to your mom... Mom's are moms! They should love you no matter what, and I know that isn't always the case- but it should be... so love your moms kids! He released this on Mother's Day too, which is extr

Feeling Lovely Friday- What's in my Tiny Purse

Sooo this is sort of boring and stupid... But I'm so proud of how I pack this tiny purse, I needed to share it! I got this small bag from American Eagle, but any small bag will probably fit about the same amount of stuff in a similar way. What I like about this purse is the zippered pouch up front. That gives a surprising amount of room. I'll start outside of the purse actually. Right now I have this little keychain called a curvyman that I got from the camping section of Eddie Bauer. My family does not go camping at all, but my mom really likes Eddie Bauer and for some reason we are always drawn to the camping section and I saw this in there and thought it was cool so my mom got it for me. I've had this for a couple years, but never saw all the usefullness for it... But now I do. I also didn't see that he is slightly inappropriate also... Anyway, so unzipping that part I have a little pouch that I like to keep a few things in. Sometimes when I don't want t

Woman Crush Wednesday: Amy Schumer

My recent comedy obsession has been Amy Schumer. She is just soo soo funny, she has amazing timing and she's just all around awesome. As a girl that wants to get into comedy... I feel like its hard. I mean there are TONS of funny women and amazing comics of all sorts of backgrounds and whatnot... but still I feel like comedy is kind of a boys club, but Amy Schumer made it a girl club by proving she's one of the guys. She is just one of the smartest people ever probably for doing that. When you first see Amy Schumer she just looks like this cute little blonde girl but then she says all these gross dirty sex jokes that are sooo soo funny. Her special is called "Mostly Sex Stuff" her show is called "Inside Amy Schumer" and her tour is "The Back Door Tour"... you kind of know what to expect with her and that is awesome. And she totally owns it. It's just awesome. I say she kind of "made herself one of the guys" because I feel like peo

Trailer Reviews!

Sooo I've been doing a lot of these trailer reviews and I've seen a lot of trailers for big blockbuster type of movies that look really shitty. Now I'm going to try to do some smaller movies I've never heard of and documentaries. There will still be some bigger movies here too, but a lot of them I've never heard of. Also I'm looking these up on Hulu and it seems like a lot of the popular trailers are for older movies that have been out for a while now... so we'll see what exactly these are all about. 1) Tammy- I've already done a review on the teaser... but I'm hoping this is the actual trailer. Nahhh this is just the teaser again. Still looks really good. 2) Sin City: A Dame To Kill For- I didn't see the original Sin City... but I saw the trailers for that and it looked good. I don't remember it that well because it was out a million years ago, but Imma watch this trailer. Idk. I want to see it because I want to see the original still, b

It List: May 2014!

I'm already excited about this list. May is going to be good, I can feel it! 1) This Forever 21 Statement Necklace-    I have a thing for Forever 21 statement necklaces right now... and it's not bad. I've been loving basic tops lately, I've been wearing a solid color, a bright color but a solid one and getting a nice Statement Necklace that has a lot of different colors in it and just pairing the two together. It's really a nice effortless chic look. You can get nice Statement Necklaces anywhere pretty much, but Forever 21 has a lot of fun designs and colors. This matches just about everything I own. I was wearing this today and I was trying on dresses for an upcoming family wedding and it was just a simple Black and White striped maxi dress, but this necklace made it look so nice. I think I'm going to wear that along with the dress. I'll post pictures and maybe do a blog about what make up/dress I'm wearing to there. I'm not a part of the wedd
