Scribbles About TV: Powerless Review

I was really excited about this show... and it isn't that I don't like it... it's funny... but its not super funny. It falls a little flat for me. It's a cute show and I think it's going to get better and better... but it's not my favorite show right now.

It's about a girl that wanted to be a superhero or live near superheroes... but she didn't have any powers... so she tried to help the world in different ways and eventually got a job at Wayne Security, run by Bruce Wayne...'s cousin. Lol. So Batman is mentioned... it isn't mentioned that Bruce Wayne is Batman though.

Danny Pudi and Ron Funchs are on the show as employees of Wayne Security that aren't really working up to their potential, and Emily (the girl, played by Vanessa Hudgens) is hired to be their boss and wants to make Wayne Security better. She didn't know, however, that Wayne Enterprises is kind of going through some problems... and has gone through quite a few bosses in the last few months... so she tries whipping it into shape despite some resistance from the less than enthusiastic employees.

So it is unique in the fact that it's a superhero workplace comedy... but the plot isn't anything as new or exciting as what I was hoping it would be. The cast is funny and everything about it kind of works... but compared to shows like The Good Place, Superstore or Life In Pieces... which are all either on the same network or in Life in Pieces case, the same night... it just kinda falls a little flat in comparison. Superstore and Life in Pieces are both in their second season and I think they've gotten a lot better...which is why I think this is getting there... but it isn't quite there yet.

So I'm going to continue to watch it on Thursday's at 8:30... there's a lot to watch then and I think this is a good choice to watch... I really think that by tomorrow's episode I'll really like it. I forget what happened in the second episode... but usually things kind of get better by the third episode. This is just a good show right now... I'd give it a B+ right now... I think it'll get a lot better though.

Hope you liked this review!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
