This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites.
This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah.
I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow they're all connected. I don't pay close attention to my Pixar movies for that... I don't really think Boo is the witch from Brave... but I think its legit.
Anyway back to the movie... its a lot darker than most of the Pixar movies. Not necessarily the saddest... but I would say this, Brave, and maybe The Good Dinosaur are a bit scary for kids. And Wall E too maybe... Idk. This one talks about cheating on your spouse and there's even mention of suicide in it and several deaths... its scary for kids. I don't think its necessarily as scary and if you watch it at home its fine... it might have been a bit more scary in theaters... so that is sort of a moo point as Joey Tribiani would say.
This movie didn't really hold my attention the way most Pixar movies do. I think this is still one I could watch over and over and over again... but I probably wouldn't like it as much that way. I think my favorite Pixar movie to watch over and over again is Ratatouille. It isn't my favorite Pixar movie... but I always get happy when thats on. Finding Nemo too. And of corse my favorite is Monster's Inc. It doesn't make this a bad movie at all... its just somewhere in the middle... which for Pixar is still pretty good.
I love the Family, I think its nice how Pixar shows families. They stick together and make each other stronger and that's cute. Its cool... and also disturbing when ElasticGirl becomes a boat or a parachute... its cool... but weird.
Frozone is great too... and Syndrome is one of the worst villains ever! And by that I mean one of the best. You can see where he would have redeemable qualities... but he's just a bad guy.
And there are some fun easter eggs...
Yep! Modeled after Pixar's own... Steve Jobs! I'm assuming! And it looks like there's an iPad that Syndrome sends to Bob. And it took me a second to be like "WOW! That's so cool! iPads weren't even invented yet!" But I think they had the inside scoop...
So overall... not my favorite, but it was cool and really fun to watch again. Edna Mode is probably one of the best characters I didn't even get to talk about much... but she's awesome. This movie was very cool and different from the other Pixar movies... but still just as fun. It isn't my favorite, but I like it and I'm excited for the sequel!

Does this guy look familiar to anyone?
