Scribbles About Movies: Mini Movie Reviews: Mermaids, The Good Dinosaur, Pitch Perfect 2+ More

Alright some new movies I've been watching... here's what I think of them!

Pitch Perfect 2
I thought this was funny. I don't know if I liked it as much as the first one or more... in some ways I kinda liked it more. I thought the thing with Fat Amy and Bumper was really funny and cute. I like them both, lots of good songs in both. I liked the new characters in this one and overall I just thought it was a really funny sequel. I was happy when they won, I liked seeing them battle it out... it was cool!

Mermaids
I thought this was a movie about actual mermaids... but it wasn't.... still not disappointing at all! I really loved it! I thought Winona Rider and Christina Ricci were really good in it. I really liked the story. Cher played the mother and she was a single mom that dated a lot... and Winona Rider wanted to be a Nun but then she saw a boy she liked and its just about her growing up and I thought it was the most well done movie of its kind really. There are so many movies that do that wrong... this movie was perfect. I think I had a couple of complaints... I liked the beginning of the movie more than the end, the end was kinda sad. And they don't state the resolution of the sad part that easily. If you weren't really watching you might have thought something else happened. Otherwise AMAZING movie.

Smosh: The Movie
I love Michael Ian Black... I even love Smosh... this was not a good movie. It was watchable... I ended up watching the whole thing... but it was pretty bad. Not the worst movie ever... but its probably the most stupid. It wasn't even all that entertaining or funny... it was just a really long Smosh video and idk if I'd recommend that to anyone.

The Good Dinosaur
This movie was sad and there  were scary moments... but I really liked it. I watched it with my Mom, sister and my dog and watching it with my dog was really funny. He can see the TV and he was running up to it and he was barking and just so fascinated. I thought it was really cute and a good one to watch! I love Pixar, I think I'll do another list of Pixar movies soon because I love Pixar... I think I like Pixar better than Disney... but this is a good one. Not on the top of the list... further on the list than Finding Dory... lol.

Sisters
This was a really funny movie! Probably one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while! I thought the plot was a little loose, but overall it was just really funny and really good! Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are so good together! Just a good movie! I recommend watching it! I could probably watch this 50 more times and not get tired of it!

Zootopia
This is a pretty deep kids movie with a pretty positive message. I missed it in theaters and I didn't know too much about it otherwise... I thought there would be a deep message because 1) Every Buzzfeed article 2) Its like Bojack Horseman or The Muppets. They use characters that aren't human so that you can see very real human emotions and problems. Its an interesting "mirror" of sorts kind of. I thought it was really good and had a good message without deterring from the storyline or "Disney" factor of it all.

Alright! That is everything! I really loved all of these movies... except Smosh. I was going to choose a favorite... but that would actually be really, really hard. I really liked The Good Dinosaur... maybe that's my favorite. But Zootopia, Sisters and Mermaids were all good too. And Pitch Perfect was such a good sequel! Overall... good round of movies, would recommend most of them... and I just really liked watching them all!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
