Scribbles About Food: Brunch at Cheesecake Factory- Chicken and Waffles Benedict

Cheesecake Factory is a pretty popular restaurant... and the selection can be pretty overwhelming, so I thought I'd do a review on this brunch special that I had this weekend... just because. I'm not that into big restaurant chains... but Cheesecake Factory is pretty good, so I thought why not? Plus I'll remember if I liked it or not.

Note: I ordered the Eggs Benedict on the side because I'm not a fan of eggs. I believe if you order it all together they'll put the egg and hollandaise sauce on top of the chicken, I prefer syrup with my waffles anyway so I just asked for syrup and I put that on top of the chicken and waffles. I still wanted to order the egg because I figured it wouldn't cost any less without the egg, so I might as well give the egg a try too.

And honestly... the eggs were okay! I'd still probably prefer it on the side and I don't think the hollandaise sauce really worked with it that way. I could see that being good on toast... but yeah. I really like hard boiled eggs, so this just wasn't my thing really. But it wasn't bad either. I probably liked it more than I'd like scrambled eggs.

Now onto the important part: The Chicken and Waffles. I was hesitant to order this because its just chicken strips with like a regular belgium waffle that you'd get at a diner or something. And even though it was that... it wasn't bad. They have good chicken strips and the waffles were kind of perfect. They were crispy but still fluffy. They tasted a little bit burnt... but it wasn't bad. They were sweet. That might be weird if you prefer a more savory waffle with your chicken and waffles, or if you were going to put the hollandaise sauce on top of the chicken... but they were good. They weren't the best waffles in the entire world... but they were really nice and it tasted good with the syrup... although I wish they brought me a little extra syrup.

It also came with breakfast potatoes... which are always exciting! Any sort of breakfast potato: I'm in for. I love Home fries and I like the regular breakfast potatoes too. These had like a lot of seasoning on them and they tasted really good. They weren't too spicy, but they had a bit of a kick... and they were just really good.

So I ended up eating the whole thing... I didn't finish the Egg and I didn't have much for dinner, but overall it was pretty good. I would recommend it, I'd probably order it again and maybe just ask for a bit more syrup. They did give just the right amount... but I like a lot of syrup.

They also served it with ketchup if you wanted to dip your chicken or potatoes, or even your egg in there I suppose. But... yeah! It was better than I was expecting, it was a lot of food for a decent price and it filled me up for the day. So its good if you're on vacation or something and you're doing a lot that day and you don't have a lot of time for a big lunch or dinner or anything... I  know Cheesecake Factories are in touristy places... so maybe that would be good.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
