Throwback Thursday: The Emperor's New Groove

Alright, back in the nostalgic movie train for the week... I watched The Emperor's New Groove! This has always held a special place in my heart because I think it's definitely one of the funniest Disney movies if not the funniest... at least from when I was growing up, it is one of the funnier ones.

And I'm happy it held up! It wasn't the best movie ever... but its still really funny and you can see even though Kuzco seems like a big jerk that is almost unforgivable... he does have good qualities. I think the only reason he was mean to Pacha was because he really thought Pacha turned him into a llama and he didn't think Yzma or Kronk had anything to do with it.

The voice acting in this movie is also pretty unique for a Disney movie... especially back then. Its all well known actors who are known for being in comedies. Eartha Kitt voiced Yzma and she did a wonderful job! I never knew that she played Yzma! I thought that was pretty cool!

This is also one that I loved when it first came out and I saw it at the movies and got the VHS tape and watched it over and over again because my sister and I both really liked it. We had a few movies that were like our go-to movies that we'd watch over and over again and it was This, Shrek, Dr. Doolittle 2 and Monsters Inc. And we had those displayed in front of our other movies because those were our favorites.

I miss the drawn animation as opposed to the CGI stuff. I think if I were to list all of my favorite Disney movies (which I probably did or will do in the near future because thats a good one) it would probably be a lot of Pixar movies... I think overall if I had to choose Disney or Pixar... I'd choose Pixar. Monster's Inc is one of my all time favorite movies and a lot of Pixar movies are ones I find myself watching over and over again... but that doesn't mean I don't love the hand-drawn animation because I really think those are amazing too.

The Emperors New Groove probably isn't in the Top 10 list I have for Disney movies... but it probably is in the top 25 or top 30... just cause its really funny and I thought the action of it held up well too. The scene where I was kind of like "Yeah this movie is great" was when Kronk was cooking dinner and Yzma and Kuzko kept going in and out changing the order. They're so similar but so different that its just funny. No wonder they're enemies! Lol.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
