Starbucks has a new drink that sounded interesting to me. Its sort of a "Mexican Hot Chocolate" inspired drink that is a Chile Mocha. Its a regular Mocha... but with a little bit of a kick I guess... so lets see how this is!
Frap
I really liked the frap! It didn't have much of a kick to it... it was just enough to bring out the chocolate in the Mocha... but not enough for me to be like "wow, this is spicy!" I was little disappointed in that, I don't mind spiciness... but I think this was probably better than anything super spicy. I haven't had a real Mexican Hot Chocolate, but I've had Mexican Hot Chocolate Ice Cream and that was really good and pretty spicy. So I'm not really an expert... but I think this was better than I was expecting for a Starbucks version of the drink.
And it was really chocolatey, which was the 1st and best thing I noticed really. It was good.
Latte
The Latte was a little bit spicier! I liked it a lot still though, even though there was no real cool-down factor to this. I don't think this is something I would order all the time... I might need to try the Salted Caramel Mocha or the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate again to compare... It reminds me of that but the Salted Caramel Mocha is very rich. I had it one day with a brownie... and it was just wayyy too much. This isn't quite as rich as that one... but maybe don't get a brownie with this one and eat it in one class and en route to another class right after. Lol.
So overall... This is good Iced in a frap or hot in a latte... the idea of this as an iced latte doesn't really appeal to me that much... so I didn't try it like that... but it'd probably taste somewhat like the frap. I preferred the Hot Latte, so I might wait a little bit to order this one again since it is still hot out... but I'd recommend it!
