New Years Superstitions

So I did a gift giving superstitions and I thought I'd post about superstitions for the new year. Take these with a grain of salt. If you believe in them, cool... but in all seriousness they were probably just made randomly by someone.

This isn't a known thing, but I always thought that if you were asleep on New Years at midnight, you might die that year. Lol. No one told me this, this isn't a really known thing or anything... I just thought that was why you had to stay up till midnight on New Years. Now I stay up till Midnight pretty much every night... so yeah. This one is definitely fake because I made it up and know several living people that slept in on New Years... but that's just always what I assumed. Lol.

This is a Greek Superstition according to my nana... but the first person thats supposed to go into your door on New Years Day is supposed to be a man. And at my Nana's house, the first person to go into her house is always my dad... so she's happy about that.

You're supposed to bring something inside when you go outside so that you bring something in all year.

There's something called a money salad that my sister makes with Black Eyed Peas and whoever eats the most Money Salad is supposed to make the most money that year... so thats pretty cool. Its a delicious salad. On the Today show they added sausage to it too... yum!

Also Pickled Herring... weird but its supposed to be good luck.

And last but not least, don't spend money New Year's Day! Otherwise you'll be losing money all year. I don't think I ever have spent money on New Years... so thats good I suppose!

And thats it! Hope you guys are having a good New Year. I might share resolutions tomorrow... yeah! Sounds good!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
