Favorite Internet Things Of The Moment (1.27.16)

So this isn't going to be like a Shannon Goes Viral... its just going to be me talking about all the best stuff on the internet that I've seen recently... just cause there's a lot that's been funny.

First off... There was a storm this weekend on the East Coast... and This happened.

I think in all of my internet-ing years and all the things I've seen in all the internet... this is definitely in the top 10. This is pretty fantastic... yeah. I want all weathermen to dress like this now.

Then there is this thing on Facebook where you just enter your name and it says something. Mine says "This is Shannon. Shannon likes to travel. Shannon doesn't check in on Facebook every single place Shannon visits. Shannon is smart. Be like Shannon." And I was like "ohhh this is great." And it is very accurate. I never want to let anyone know where I am because then people rob you. Lol. But yeah. I gotta say, I tried to do another one of these because I was hoping it came up with the same result... but I didn't like what they said. It was kind of... un-positive and idk. It was saying "this is shannon, shannon goes to the gym. She doesn't call herself fat on Facebook to fish for compliments." And... I kind of hate that it said that. And the second one I said said that "Shannon is skinny. Shannon doesn't call herself fat to fish for compliments." First off: I'm not skinny. I'm not saying this to fish for compliments, I just know I am not a skinny person and I'm okay with that... but there are so many weird effed up issues that both girls and guys have with their bodies... its not okay to put that down on Facebook. And I know people that definitely do say things on Facebook and it is annoying... but still I don't think thats something they should put on a stick figure thing. Not to be PC Police on this... but I feel like thats kind of insensitive.

The Tasty videos from Buzzfeed... Love/Hate relationship with those. I feel like a lot of times its like "lets take some sort of pilsbury bread. Let's throw a whole buncha crap in it. Boom. Food." And a lot of it looks terrible... but a lot of it looks delicious and delicious or terrible... I could watch cooking videos forever and be satisfied with my life. I don't cook and I'll probably never cook any of them... but I like the feeling of potential I have while watching them.

There was a quiz where you can spell commonly misspelled words... and I was super nervous about this because it is hard. Like spelling things isn't that hard... but if you look at a group of words together and try to figure out how to spell what thing... its really really hard. I wanted to take it and if I didn't do well I totally wasn't going to post it or talk about it or anything. People already think I'm dumb and I'm not dumb... so I got in the top 97th percentile and I posted it. Lol.

There is also a video of a pug in an inflatable kiddy pool... look it up it is adorable.

Ohhh and there was an optical illusion version of Find the Panda... and I'm terrible with Magic eye posters... but I found the panda!!! I can't not see it either lol. And I looked up Magic Eye after that because I thought maybe now I could do those... still no! Ohhh I know why. It doesn't work if you have an astigmatism and I have a slight astigmatism in my left eye, so I can't see it. Okay that makes sense. Anyway... I was psyched to see the optical illusion. Then I got onto a video of Magic Eye things... but I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to see them with the astigmatism. Lol. But I saw the panda!

I think that is everything noteworthy from Internetland this week. I feel like I had more... maybe I don't? Idk, I'll try to do these more often cause I like them!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
