Chart Chat: 11/30/15

Lets see what songs and movies people talked about at Thanksgiving Dinner and maybe saw this weekend. Music  5) Confident by Demi Lovato- This song is awesome. I was trying on bridesmaid dresses and then this song came on and I was like "Yassss" and my sister was like "I still like the other one better" lol. That story should be coming up soon. I feel a little old liking Demi Lovato... but she's awesome. I like her a lot now. 4) Hotline Bling   by Drake- Not a fan. I've talked about this on chart chats before... but it just isn't something I'd download or listen to... ever. Lol. Drake has a different sort of vibe. He isn't really a rapper... but he isn't really a singer either. I like when they do the Adele mashups of this though. Adele even thinks its funny... so thats awesome. 3) Love Yourself by Justin Bieber- I haven't heard this song yet and don't really want to click on the sample right now cause I want to write this in

Weekly Wrap Up: 11/29/15 The One With The Thanksgiving Post.

Alrighty! Happy Thanksgiving weekend! Today is my sister's birthday, so Happy Birthday to her! And its also Thanksgiving week and my grandfather's birthday was on Thanksgiving, so this is a pretty big week! Hope everyone else is having a great week too! Into the favorites! Favorites  KFC Extra Crispy Chicken- Ohhh my god. This is so good. I got the three piece meal with the mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw... not a fan of the cole slaw... but damn. That was amazing. I was also starving... but it was damn good. Glass Plus/Windex- What kind of Greek would I be if I didn't mention Windex? Lol. I was helping my mom clean this week and this worked! Not complaining there! Lol. This is the weirdest favorites ever because I kind of hated everything this week. Lol. Thanksgiving Sandwiches- Whoever thought of these are awesome. You take a hard roll, some leftover turkey, stuffing and cranberries... and you got a bitchin lunch right there. Not wearing a bra- This may b

Shannon Goes Viral: Patti Labelle Pie, Cute Dogs Playing Piano

So... running out of ideas... but I've seen some viral videos... so why not. Patti Labelle Pie  So on youtube this guy went to Wall Mart and got Patti Labelle's sweet potato pie. And he was excited to eat it because Patti Labelle is awesome. So he tried some of it, and started singing and he was amazing. He said the pie will turn you into Patti Labelle (I think this guy was already had the talent.) So this pie has since sold out, been on amazon for lots and lots of money and Patti Labelle invited him to have Thanksgiving with her... and of corse... he joined her for Thanksgiving! Its all a happy story! I'm glad this Patti Labelle comeback had a better ending than her cameo on AHS... lol. Because this had such a nice ending 10 out of 10 Patti Labelle pies!  Also we have one of her cookbooks. Cute Dogs Playing Piano  My sister showed me this video of 2 adorable fluffy dogs playing piano. And they do a pretty good job, they just kind of paw 2 keys and it looked lik

Scream Queens Notes: Who Is The Red Devil Pt 2

So here are some more notes about Scream Queens... Pumpkin Patch  -"You're a weird, psycho lunatic who's going to end up at an asylum somewhere staring at a wall trying to nurse a watering can." Chanel O. Said this to Chanel#5. I feel like it could be a clue that one of them did that and is one of the killers. - Chanel #3 touches her ear muffs when Chad is making her speech. She's been doing this a lot in recent episodes. Some people think the muffs are really a listening device... I think she might be having some sort of breakdown or something. - Chad's slept with everyone on campus... he's probably slept with the killer. - The Toenail cookies that Chanel#5 makes... thats weird right. She also mentions she's the one that came up with all the style's and Chanel just copies them. And then other girls copy Chanel. - I wonder who voted for Chanel and who voted for Zayday. Chanel threw a vote for Zayday... but I feel like there are different

Tips for Working Retail During the Holidays

So this is one of the hardest things you could ever do during the holidays... working retail! And it shouldn't be that hard... but it kind of is... here are some tips and things I've noticed about people that make it a little bit better. Tip #1: Patience is Key  If you're really impatient... working retail during the holidays may not be for you. There will be customers that will ask you if you have one very specific thing in store, you will give them the closest thing your store has to what they want... they'll look at it and say "no that's not what I want" and leave the store without buying anything... even if they've taken up a lot of your time. Where I worked our big things during the holidays were velour jumpsuits, and one woman who was actually very nice had pants for the jumpsuit, but needed a matching jacket. I showed her what we had and I think it looked a little different in the lighting or something but she said it wasn't a match. It

Scribbles About Gadgets: Fitbit Hr Review

So my sister got me this little do-dad for my birthday and I figured it's a great christmas gift, so why not do a review on it! My sister has had some trouble losing her fit bits before, so she got this for me specifically because it has a big watchband on it. I find this really convenient too. I like having a clock and being able to check the date as well as just having my steps right at my fingertips. I think that you can buy bands to go with other designs of the fitbit... but this one is just an all in one thing that is easy to use... and works really well. This holds a charge better than I expected it too... but probably not as well as some of the other fit bits. I charge this like every 3 days. It has a heart rate monitor on it and little lights that always show up cause those help read your heart rate. It shows up in the dark as well... so keep that in mind. You can turn off the heart rate monitor... but I'm always afraid I'm going to have a heart attack or someth

Holiday Gift Guide #1: Larger Presents

So its a little too early to do a holiday gift guide... but I wanted to put this out there before Black Friday. I'll talk about some of the bigger gifts that you'll probably be able to get a good deal on for Black Friday or cyber monday. This is probably mostly tech stuff- I will put my beauty stuff on that blog! I'm calling this #1 cause I may have more... but I may not... so thats a thing too. Fitbit HR- This is what my sister and her fiancé got me for my birthday and I love it. I've been trying to lose some weight, if you know anyone that is trying to lose weight or is just a healthy person... this is a great one. I have the HR which I like because its on a band so you won't lose it, these are easy to lose... but this one is pretty idiot proof. Its also idiot proof in the way you use it too. I'm not that great with technology and I find this super easy to use. It was tricky for me to set up at first... but thats because I am an idiot and basically you jus

Scribbles About TV: The One Where Shannon Ranks The Friends Thanksgiving Episodes

A Long Time Ago... Thanksgiving used to actually mean something, it wasn't just a big dinner before going shopping on black Friday... btw PSA if you plan on shopping on Thanksgiving night, maybe don't eat a ton before or take a Gas X or something.... but anyway back to the point... Thanksgiving used to be about Watching Friends. Friends always had the best Thanksgiving episodes, and sometimes they would actually show them on Thanksgiving. There is nothing more thanksgiving-y than Friends... so I figured I would share all of my favorites with you guys... This isn't an easy post to do. These are all such holiday classics that it will be nearly impossible to rank... but I will try for the sake of the blog and that is what it will be. Now there are 10 seasons of Friends, but sadly only 9 Thanksgiving episodes. Season 2 didn't have a Thanksgiving episode... aside from a mention of Thanksgiving being the holiday for Mocklate, a fake chocolate substitute that Monica was work

The Great AHS Re-watch: Every Season Episode 5 and 6

So... I did not post last week because the My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 Trailer was more important... so now I'm doing these every other week I think and just combining two episodes. Hotel  Episode 5: Room Service  Ohhh my gosh. This might be the most uncomfortable episode of anything I've ever seen. After the part where the kid was dressed as the pirate and killed his parents and then went to school... I didn't like that. Alex, that's her name right? Chloe Sevigny's character... that was so dumb that she did that... that was dumb. But she's all about saving children and it seems she doesn't really care about adults.  The only episode I think that might have been harder for me to watch was the Christmas episode of Asylum... which I'm dreading watching in this re-watch. That's the only episode I'm really not looking forward too. Lol. The rest of the episode was kind of funny actually. We learned about Liz Taylor, who doesn't really

Weekly Wrap Up: 11/21/15

Alrighty lets just get right into it! Favorites  Egg Nog Latte- I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of favorites this week. The Egg Nog Latte is a big one. This I feel like they have a little later than the other holiday lattes... but its my favorite. This year I think it's even better than previous years. Its so christmasy and good and delicious. I love it. Comedy Bang Bang- I've been behind on this podcast... but I just started listening to it again and it is amazing. It's really funny and just a fun thing to listen to while cleaning your room or anything. The show actually had Eagles of Death Metal on a recent episode. That is the band that's concert hall was targeted during the attacks in Paris, killing 90 people. Which is very sad, this podcast was obviously before that happened, it was an episode early in October, but you can tell they are good natured and easy to get along with guys. They were funny and fun to listen to. They didn't perform on

Quarter Life Crisis Part One: Celebrity Envy

So I'm 24 right now... which means everything is scary. I'm old enough to do things like drink and be employed and you know... do things, but I'm still too young for people to really take me seriously. And its like I just finally got done with school and now I feel like death is creeping slowly... very slowly but still its still like Time and The Grim Reaper or whoever are having lunch and they're like "You're too old for that honey. Contribute to society." So here I am. Contributing. And I wasn't that freaked out, but I was listening to Lady Gaga and I was thinking of high school and stuff and I was like "wasn't I surprised by her age when I was in high school? Didn't I find out she's 24 and thought that was old? Aren't I 24 now?" I googled and then checked my birth certificate and it is in fact sadly true. I am in fact 24 and Lady Gaga was also 24 when Born This Way came out. And I was like... wow. I used to think she wa

10 Random Thoughts: Scribbles About Life 11/19/15

So I really wanted to post the American Horror Story Rewatch yesterday... but that didn't happen and I didn't re-watch the Murder House episodes yet... so That will probably be tomorrow. I'm going to start doing those every other week. Right now I just kind of wanted a bit of a break... so I'll just tell you some things on my mind right now! 1) The TGIT Winter Finale's are tonight. I'm really excited! I'm especially excited for How To Get Away With Murder. That's my favorite... and I know Scandal is a better show than Grey's... but I always have fun watching Grey's. It isn't super serious, I can kind of half pay attention to it. 2) I'm doing something special on my beauty blog for december and I'm calling it the 12 days of Blogmas. I'm going to do a holiday look every other day in the month of December. And maybe I'll do something like that here too. 3) Don't protest Starbucks because of their holiday cups. My starbu

Scribbles About News: November

1) Viola Davis shares photo of Daughter dressed as Viola Davis for Halloween and other celebrity costumes- Apparently Viola Davis' daughter wanted to be a different kind of princess/ superhero this halloween by going as her fabulous mom at the Emmy's! I think this is great, I think Viola Davis is a great role model and clearly her daughter thinks so too! I feel like that would be a pretty proud moment as a mom when your daughter would rather be you for Halloween than Elsa. And other famous people dressed up for Halloween as well. Jessica Simpson and her husband went as Clark Griswald and Christie Brinkley from Vacation, Ryan Reynolds was Deadpool, Keke Palmer was Aaliyah. And all of these were great... but my favorite celebrity costumes were Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka and their children. They always do a cute themed costume for Halloween. Burtka was Han Solo, NPH was Obi Wan and their kids were Luke and Leia. Adorable. Non celebrity but the best costume I saw this

Bridesmaids Diaries: Djs, Tasting, Picking Up The Dress

Heyyy guys! Haven't done one of these in a while. I've done some events that aren't necessarily important for Bridesmaids to be a part of... but they're still useful and I feel like combined it'll make a good blog post. Picking Out The DJ  So this is an important part. We went to an event that they actually had in like a banquet room at a hotel nearby and it was for a popular local DJ and entertainment company. All the MC's were really fun and had a lot of energy, which is an important part. My sister's wedding is on a Sunday, so having a good DJ will really make or break the party. People will be more likely to stay and have a good time with a good DJ and MC. But at the same time, some people want higher energy and some people want lower energy... so it depends on the Bride and Groom's preference. We got a great guy and it's easy to have. If you know someone that's a DJ or MC or has a band or something, you may feel obliged to use them, wh

November 2015: It List

Here it is! The Penultimate It List... unless you include the yearly it list that I do... but I'll do this and December and then the Yearly favorites! What an exciting year it's been! 1) Fitbit- I have the Fitbit HR and I've been loving it. I got it for my birthday, my sister got it for me. Its just fun to measure how many calories you burn just doing everyday things. I'm pretty bad at it... but I'm working on it. Lol. It gives me an average of 10,000 steps a day that I'm supposed to reach and... its just something easy to use and easy to figure out. If you're trying to lose some weight, the app has a nice... although slightly hard to be sure is accurate food monitor so you can count your calories and see where you are throughout the day. I really like using it and its just one of those gadgets that are just good to have. 2) Something Rotten- My other big birthday gift was that I got to see Something Rotten with my sister and my best friend and I loved i

Weekly Wrap Up! 11/15/15

Hello and Welcome to the Weekly Wrap Up! This is going to be quite the Favorites-y week cause I think I'm doing my It List tomorrow too... So yeah! Favorites  Chestnut Praline Latte- I feel like this is my jam for Thanksgiving. Gingerbread is still a little early, I've been having PSL's since summer... time for a little change. I like all the Starbucks holiday drinks... but this one has been my jam this week. Lol. How To Get Away With Murder- Wow... it was good this week. Grey's Anatomy and Scandal were awesome too... but HTGAWM KILLED IT! I cannot wait for next week... OMG! I also loved the weird promo they had with The Force Awakens... Like What?????? Lol. It was just so pointless and I loved it. I love Star Wars, I love TGIT... so seeing them collide was bizarre and funny and I really liked it. I cannot wait for the new Star Wars Movie to be out! I don't want to see it opening weekend cause its going to be cray... but I want to see it... like now. Lol. Idk.
