It List: May 2017

Can't believe it's the last day of May... this was a great time for TV... so let's get right into it! 1) Master of None- The second season of this show was really really great! I liked the first season... but this season was just wayyy better to me for some reason... I loved that they had episodes about Italy and about New York... I think they did a really great job and I was so impressed with it... I'll have to watch the first season over again and do a Throwback Thursday on that sometime soon... but until then... season 2 was great! 2) Girl Boss- I finally got around to watching Girl Boss this month too... and I loved that show! At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not... then I just couldn't stop watching it and I finished it in 2 days... which I guess is when I finished all the Netflix shows I'm talking about... but still. Girlboss was definitely really good... and I feel like I could watch this one over and over again too. 3) Unbrea

Scribbles About TV: List of renewed shows NBC

So this is the third one of these articles I'm writing... and they were posted out of order accidentally... so this is a bonus post... anyway into the shows! America's Got Talent- No we don't! Jk... I just don't like this show! Better Late Than Never- No idea what this show is... let's see. I think it's a reality show... It stars Henry Winkler, Terry Bradshaw, William Shatner and George Foreman and they go to asia for a month...so it's like An Idiot Abroad but with 4 idiots... lol jk 4 iconic male stars! It looks like it has a pretty high rating on IMDB... so that's good. It sounds pretty funny! The Blacklist- Despite the spinoff getting canned... this is still doing well. Again- must be expensive to make... but it does well and people love it. Blindspot- Not quite sure how this is still on... I did a review of the pilot somewhere here and again, I lost interest as I do with so many shows I say I'll watch again... so yeah. Chicago Fire, Med

Chart Chat: 5/29/17

10) Beauty and the Beast- Number 10 this week in it's 11th week on the charts! Not too bad! It has been out since St. Patrick's day... just for reference so that is a long time! I'm guessing it will be out of theaters next week- so see this one while you can. It was really good and I'm excited for the Blu Ray to come out! 9) The Boss Baby- This is the 9th week on the charts for the surprise hit: Boss Baby. I'm guessing this will be out of theaters soon as well... so catch it while you can... it looked obnoxious to me... but what do I know- people loved this and must have seen it multiple times! 8)King Arthur: Legend of the Sword- This has been out for 3 weeks... not doing great domestically... but I bet it will be international soon and these types of action movies seem to do really well in other countries. So that's good... it is still kind of a flop... and it probably won't be at the movies much longer... but it'll do okay. 7) Snatched- Another m
Favorites  Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt- The new season was my favorite one so far… and I started watching it from the beginning again… so I can say for sure I liked it better than Season 1… I haven’t gotten past season 2 yet- but I think I like it better than Season 2 as well… so I’m super happy with this season… I finished it pretty much right after I posted the weekly wrap up… so it was sort of from last week… but I’m still watching it over again… so there’s that too.  Friends- I’ve been watching Friends again too… I’m trying to watch it from the beginning… but it’s on tv all the time too and I watch it all the time on TV as well. Season 1 isn’t the best… but there are some great episodes. The One With The Blackout is great, The One With The East German Laundry Detergent is good… there are a lot of good ones. So I’m excited about this!  Fidget Spinners- These are so much fun! I have one of the regular Fidget Spinners and a Fidget Cube… I kind of like the Fidget Cube a litt

Scribbles About TV: What Shows Got Renewed? CBS

Alrighty! Let's see what shows got renewed this year now that we saw which ones got canned... I'm going to do this one network at a time because I just finished writing one for CBS... and there's a lot! So I might split this up into CBS, NBC, ABC, and then I'll combine The CW and Fox. CBS  CBS has the most renewals so we'll start there!  48 Hours- Man, this show always gets me! I'm surprised they put a news show on this list... but this is really entertaining and I just think it's a good one!  60 Minutes- News show again... not a surprise here!  The Amazing Race- I've never watched this show... I feel like maybe I should watch it some day. I'm not really a reality show person... but this has been on forever and it looks fun.  The Big Bang Theory- This show has been renewed through season 12! It is currently on Season 10 right now... there is also a spinoff in the works according to Wikipedia. Jon Favreau is set to direct and e

Throwback Thursday: Up!

Up is one of my favorite movies of all time... or is just the first few minutes of Up my favorite movie ever? Hard to tell! I have to say... I don't like the whole movie as much as I like the sad montage at the beginning of the movie. I didn't pay that much attention to it when I just recently watched it because I was also cleaning my room... so I didn't totally take in all the beautiful animation of it... but I was pretty much fully watching it and I feel like there's such a weird shift in the movie that I'm not sure fits that well together... it's just very odd. It's action-y and adventure-y... but when they get to Paradise Falls... everything gets kind of weird. And it isn't that I don't like it it's just kind of... not really my thing. I like Kevin- she's really pretty. I love Dug and think all the talking dogs are really funny... but it's just really strange compared to the beginning of the movie- which is very cute but ordinary.

Scribbles About TV: Downward Dog Review

So I was really really excited when I heard that there was going to be a show about a dog on tv... and this did not disappoint... it really was about a dog and his relationship with his human... and I only managed to cry through like half of it. This show is actually making history- and hopefully if it does well we'll see more like it... it is the first network television show to debut at the Sundance Film Festival... which seems crazy to me! Sundance has been around for quite a while... and Network tv is so popular that you would just think at some point their paths would have crossed... but apparently they haven't until now... and it is a wonderful thing that they have. Because this show did debut at a film festival... it does sort of have more of a film vibe than a television vibe. I feel wayyy more emotionally connected to the characters. A lot of times they will sort of use something other than a human in a tv show so that you can connect to the characters better on so

Scribbles About Food: Caramel M&Ms

These are different than I expected... and I think that is wayyyy better actually! I kind of thought these would be M&Ms with a gooey caramel center... but it's actually a little bit harder... sort of like a milk dud... but with the hard M&Ms shell! That sounds super delicious right? And it is! It isn't as hard as a milk dud though. It's pretty soft and chewy. I know someone that was having tooth problems and she ate some of these and it wasn't too hard for her to eat. A milk dud probably would have... but these kind of give the same effect as a milk dud without being too hard on your teeth. I like Milk Duds... but I prefer these! I would eat these over milk duds. They're just really good. The caramel is nice too... to me it tastes better than a Milk Dud's caramel... and I kind of like the M&M chocolate better... so these are pretty addictive and fun to eat. The bag these come in is nice and easy too! It has a resealable ziplock type of featu

Chart Chat 5.22.17

Top 10 of the week! We've got a lot of new movies and an alien movie beat out another alien movie! Let's get right into it. 10) How To Be a Latin Lover- This movie made 29.5 million dollars in the 4 weeks it's been on the charts... including one week when I believe it was the #1 or #2 movie in the country. Not too bad... but the number 1 and number 2 movie this week both grossed over 30million this week alone... so that's something. Right? I was going to say "I guess people didn't want to be a latin lover that bad" but... it did make a lot of money anyway... so that's a thing. This is probably not going to be on the charts next week... so I just wanted to come up with something else interesting to say about it because the last four weeks I've been like "Yeah... Salma Hayak amiright?" 9) Beauty and The Beast- This movie has done pretty darn well! It is its 10th week on the charts and it has made in total 497.8 Million!!!! That's a

Scribbles 5.21.18

Monday 5.15.17 Today was a nice day… you know some days that you thought were going to be kind of bad but they end up being pretty okay… that’s what Monday’s always feel like for me. Everyone is always like “Ohhh the Monday’s!” But I think we just have to look forward to Mondays… its a little stressful… but you just relaxed from the weekend and now you can do whatever you have to do with that little bit of relaxation or fun memory from the weekend. Lol.    Tuesday 5.16.17  It was an okay day I guess… I can’t really remember much of what happened… I think I got a lot of blogs done this way… yeah- I actually felt productive today… it was good! And I ordered stuff from Ulta I think… and it was just a really good day.  Wednesday 5.17.17  Long day today… very fussy niece. Otherwise everything was good and we did have a little bit of fun too… I made her laugh and smile and talk… but she was fussing!  Thursday 5.18.17  Thursday is when I’m catching up on all of this and i

Weekly Wrap Up 5.20.17

Favorites  Master of None- I have a lot of favorites this week! I couldn’t pick… but I did finish up Master of None Season 2 on Tuesday I think… and it was pretty darn amazing! I have to say, I’m a bigger fan of this show than I was last season. It was just really funny and well done!  Great News- This show has been really funny since it’s been on… which hasn’t been that long… but it’s been long enough for me to fall in love with it… and the last couple of episodes were the funniest ones yet!  Candy Crush Saga- I downloaded this app again… and I was having a lot of fun with it… I did end up deleting it again today just because it’s not something I could really see myself doing for that much longer… and it was just too distracting… but it was fun while it lasted and I’m going to mention it this week!  Starbucks Breakfast Sandwiches- I’ve never been that big on eggs until recently apparently. These are just delicious. Today I got a bacon gouda… I’ve been getting the Sa

Scribbles About TV: Tv News: What got cancelled?

I feel like A LOT of shows were cancelled this year... and I actually did a lot of reviews on them... at the beginning of the TV season I was all set to watch EVERY PREMIERE and review each show... whether I had seen it or not... but that was extremely difficult. I did end up watching at least one episode of a lot of shows though... so that was good too I guess. I have some insight into these shows!  I'll also talk about what got renewed next week maybe because... why not? ABC  Abc had the most casualties so let's start there  American Crime - This won ABC multiple Emmy's and got rave reviews since season 1... but the ratings weren't as amazing. I didn't really like how season 1 ended at all... there was no real closure... all of the characters were kind of bad people... and it was just really hard to watch so while I did watch the whole first season... it wasn't that enjoyable. I heard season 2 was better (from my sister) and Season 3 got a lot of cri

Throwback Thursday: Star Wars Return of The Jedi

This one is a little bit different because the other 2 Star Wars Throwback Thursdays I hadn't seen any of them since December... this one I actually kind of forgot some details a bit... and it was on TV so I watched a bit of the beginning... I have to say... this one I feel like doesn't totally work on it's own. From the little bit I watched of it I was like "This is weird." So I think the original Star Wars Movies are now stronger as a trilogy than watching them too far apart. I would say maybe the first 2 you can watch kind of stand alone... but this one works better if you watch it along with the other 2. The beginning is just VERY Sci- Fi-ish... so you really have to be in the mood for Star Wars when you see it. It's a little bit cheesy and technology wise... it didn't quite age well in the context of the other 2 in my opinion... and while I thought this had the best beginning when I watched it as a trilogy... from that little bit that I saw I was li

Scribbles About TV: Girlboss

So I was really excited for this new series... mostly because I didn't know it was going to be out quite this soon... and I think they did a really good job with it! I don't know if they're planning on continuing with Season 2... I'd be happy if they did... but at the same time it would also make a great one-season show. It wrapped up really nicely... but there is more story to tell I'm sure and it's a story that is very cleverly told... so I would like to see more shows like this. The show is about Sophia Amoruso, who is the founder of the online shop NastyGal, the writer of Girlboss and the host of the Girlboss podcast... she's also executive producer of the show and it is very loosely based of her life. It says that right at the beginning of the show that it's a real loose interpretation of what happened... so it was probably less entertaining... but still entertaining enough for Sophia to write enough because she's a girl boss and she did that

Scribbles About Food: Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cheesecakes in Chocolate and Cherry

So Philadelphia just came out with these Individual Cheesecake spread things... they're in packaging similar to Chobani Flips... but they aren't something easily flip-able... if you want to mix the flavor in with the cheesecake you have to spoon it out and mix it that way... which I'll kind of talk about... but otherwise... it's a pretty good dessert. Something a little different and pretty yummy! The Chocolate one I mixed in with the cheesecake when I ate it... if I were to do something differently I would probably just put a little bit of the cheesecake on a spoon and then dip into the chocolate part... but idk. It wasn't quite enough chocolate for me when it was mixed in... I'm not the biggest fan of cheesecake... but I do love chocolate and I think a little bit more chocolate would have helped this a little bit better... it would have been a little more chocolatey and a little bit better I think. Idk it wasn't my favorite thing... but I still liked it.

List of Renewed Shows: ABC

So I did this with CBS last week... now we'll try with ABC. 21 shows have been renewed... I'll share my thoughts now! Marvel's Agents of Shield- I'm always wondering how this show stays on the air. I don't think the ratings or reviews are stellar... and it must cost a lot of money to make. Maybe just because Marvel is such a huge franchise... idk! It's an okay show though... I'd love to catch up some time! American Housewife- When I first watched this show I was like "Funny show- not my cup of tea." Now I actually really like it... but the only problem is whenever I see repeats its of episodes I've already seen... and I haven't seen many episodes... so yeah. The Bachelor- Nope. Bachelor in Paradise- hard pass. Black- Ish- I love this show. This has been the best season yet too! I really loved it! I think it's always interesting and culturally relevant. Celebrity Family Feud- This is such an awkward show... Dancing With The

Alrighty! Top 10 movies! Can Snatched with Amy Schumer or the movie with Charlie Hunam that needs no plot because Charlie Hunam is in it beat Guardians of the Galaxy? Nope! Spoilers. 10) Bauhubali 2: The Conclusion- This did pretty well in the US for a foreign film. It's the third week on the charts and it's been slipping since then... doesn't sound like my cup of tea... but it's probably better than Ghost in The Shell right? The movie at least... I might try watching animae sometime. 9) The Circle- This has a very low rating on Rotten Tomatoes according to my mom... I still want to see it. Maybe it's predictable or just not what everyone was expecting... gotta admit that is one exciting cast though! I hope they do more movies together. Lol. 8) Lowriders- First week on the charts off to a bad start! Based on the  IMDB description  this actually kind of interests me. It's about a street artist and his relationship with his father and his brother who is in t

Favorites  Girlboss- What a great show on Neflix right? It was just well done… well paced… sort of a show about nothing but the plot of it was also really good… I was kind of surprised… I didn’t love it at first but then I got really into it. It’s pretty good! I would recommend it!  Stop and Shop Guacamole- OMG! This Guacamole is awesome!!! It just tastes sooo sooo good! My mom tasted it in store and no one else was eating it… but she got it and thought it was delicious. It’s a little spicy but it just tastes really flavorful and good. Must have for any party this summer… except idk if my family likes Guac all that much.  Frappuccinos- Frappy Hour was this week… and I enjoyed every bit of it! Didn’t get to Starbucks in time every day it went on… but man! When I did it was amazing! The S’mores frap is my favorite and the Midnight Mint Mocha is my favorite after that I think. Great stuff!  Easy (netflix)- Kind of a weird hidden gem of Netflix. It’s a show mostly about

Shannon's Scribbles 5.13.17

Monday 5.8.17 So on these Scribbles I kind of wanted to talk about Saturday and Sunday too… but I’m not this week… I might do that eventually but… not this week. I just decided to start on Monday because that’s how I timed it…  And I wanted to talk about timing today anyway because that was sort of the theme for the day… if you just do one thing that’s a little bit not on time… everything can be ruined and people can be really unhappy… or if you get everything just right- everything will be perfect and everyone will be very happy. I had one of those days for the day… not  absolutely amazing or life changing…not terrible or life changing that way either… just sort of… timing made or broke this day… don’t really want to say which because I want to be mysterious… but yeah. That’s how Monday happened!    Tuesday 5.9.17  Now… I want to shift into internet stalking… but I don’t want to seem like a creep… lol. I feel like I’ve been on both sides this week… not really… but

Ranking Pixar Movies Based on my Initial Reactions to the Teasers.

So I thought I would do something very different on here and talk about how I feel about ALL of the Pixar movies based on their teasers alone... and how I felt about watching them as a "kid." I'm kind of redefining the word Kid here because let's face it... aren't we all kids when we watch Pixar teasers? It is an exciting event for everyone! So this is based off of everything from Toy Story to Coco. My response to the trailers doesn't exactly reflect how I feel about the film. Monster's Inc is my favorite and it is not #1 on the list. So- let's get right into it! BTW I watched them all on  this  video. 19) Cars 2- It's Cars... and it looks like they're spies... this just did not click with me. I was kind of too old to appreciate Cars when it came out... I was in college by the time Cars 2 came out... so this just wasn't going to be something I saw... Didn't get to see a lot of movies in college... this wasn't one I was even going
