It List: August 2015

1) Vita Tops Deep Chocolate- These are my favorite thing that has happened as a result of my trying to get fit healthy snacks/ healthy breakfast type of a thing... because these are better than a lot of desserts that are more indulgent. They're these little muffin tops, only 100 calories per serving and on the box theres a little tip that you can burn 100 calories from 15 minutes of walking... which is very cool. I love little details like that.

These you put in the freezer and then when you take them out microwave them for about 30 seconds and it is like a delicious chocolate cake that I think you can eat for breakfast because its a muffin top. Lol. Smart right? I usually have this for breakfast with some cereal and a coffee from the keurig, or I'll have it for dessert... but it is fantastic. I know you're supposed to have a bigger breakfast, thats why I eat this with the cereal. Lol.

2) Inside Out- I finally got to see this movie and it was well worth the wait! It is one of my favorite cartoons I think and possibly my 2nd or 3rd favorite Pixar Movie. (Monsters Inc is #1 and I think Finding Nemo is #2... but this is definitely a close one.) It was so sweet and sad and it was really just a nice cartoon about growing up and all the good things and the changes about it. I really cried... harder than in any other movie. It was amazing but bring some tissues.

3) John Green- Speaking of bringing some tissues... you've probably noticed I like John Green if you've been reading this blog! I've read all his books except Will Greyson, Will Greyson and another one that he wrote along with other people. Plus I've seen Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars... which were both good movies and I plan on reading anything else he comes out with. If he does more YA novels, awesome! If he does adult novels definitely! If he does a biography I'd loveeee to read that! His writing is very symbolic and beautiful and funny and tragic and real. He's definitely one of the best writers. I think my favorite book was The Fault In Our Stars... but they were all so good. Looking For Alaska was really good. And Paper Towns and An Abundance of Katherines were really funny. Good well thought out novels that I really enjoy!

4) American Eagle Turquoise choker- So I got this necklace from American Eagle thinking it was a bracelet and then realizing it was a choker... and i was really happy because its the coolest choker ever! It looks like a Native American type of symbol with a turquoise stone in it and its just really really pretty. It sits right at the collarbone and just looks really feminine and different.

And its funny cause I kind of wanted a choker, but more like the 90s type of choker because Scully's sister wore one on the X Files and on the X Files Files they always mention having a crush on Scully's sister with her choker and I was like "yeah that choker is so cool!" And the wardrobe department didn't do a good job on Scully in the earlier seasons... lol but on her sister it was good.

5) Cap'n Crunch Donut Crunch- Another delicious breakfast food! I did a whole Scribble About food on these... its basically Cap'n Crunch but shaped like a donut and it has sprinkles on it and it tastes really good. The only down side is that it gets soggy pretty quick... I don't have milk with cereal so I like it crunchy instead of soggy... so thats kind of a deal for me... but still these are really tasty.

6) The Scorch Trials- This is the book I'm currently reading because I really liked the Maze Runner Movie and I liked the book a lot and I never read any others and I wanted to read it before the movie comes out. Right now they haven't entered into The Scorch yet... but I have a feeling its going to be even more exciting than the Maze. I think the reason I never continued after The Maze Runner was because I liked the idea of these kids in a Maze trying to get out. Mazes really scare me... so that was exciting to me... but when I found out they have another obstacle to do I was really excited.

And I feel like I might like this one a little better because A) We sort of know whats going on and B) The First Hunger Games book is probably "the best" of the series, but I think Catching Fire is wayyy more exciting cause they have to face a whole other Hunger Games and the game was designed really well and its just a cool thing. I think the Scorch sounds more exciting than the Maze so I'm excited to read it and then see the movie which comes out next month!

7) Onion Pretzel Thins with Dill Havarti Cheese -I believe thats what the cheese is called. I think its a swiss cheese, it tastes just like munster cheese, but theres dill in it. I got these both from Stop and Shop... although I know the Pretzel thins you can get wherever... I think I've mentioned the pretzel thins before, but I've started eating them again and with the cheese on top of them its just so yummy. You can just put a little piece on top of it or do like a sandwich with two pretzels and cheese in the middle... or just have the cheese along with the pretzel... its just really good. The pretzel crisps are relatively healthy too... so its good.

8) Better Homes and Gardens- This one is really really random. So I've been ordering things online and for some reason, some websites end up sending free magazine subscriptions. I've gotten Entertainment Weekly, which I love, and recently I was just sent Better Homes and Gardens. And at first I was like "well what the hell am I gonna do with this?" But then I saw Brooke Shields on the cover and I've really always admired her. She's smart, beautiful and talented... and from the cover it looks like she has great style... so I flipped through...

And its so much more than just Better Homes and Gardens. Its about style, beauty, interior design, there are recipes... they have a lot of celebrity houses and its just a really unique type of magazine that isn't what I expected at all. Also it came with a 20% off Bed Bath and Beyond Coupon... so Score! I'm really looking forward to reading this and getting more issues to read.

9) Wet Hot American Summer:First Day of Camp- I finished this... pretty early in the month, but still worth mentioning I think. My #1 recommendation on netflix right now is Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. It is amazing. If you liked the movie, you'll love this... if you didn't like the movie... I could still see this being more relatable. I don't know its just a really good show. There are only 8 episodes, so it isn't that long... but its pretty fantastic.

10) This Top from American Eagle- Alright I wasn't going to include this... but its totally a favorite and my new favorite outfit is this top with printed leggings that I got from Garage and that choker I mentioned before. Its so pretty and flowy and dainty looking. It isn't too dressy... but it is pretty dressy. Its just really great. Definitely my style.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

Throwback Thursday: Crazy Ex Girlfriend Season 1

One of my favorite shows is the very underrated Crazy Ex Girlfriend... and when I say underrated I mean the ratings are bad... I'm pretty sure there is a lot of critical hype that is very real and worthy of that sort of hype... I honestly didn't watch it live at all this year until the finale... it was all in my DVR... I had lost a little bit of interest to be honest after the first episode... but I bingewatched it all in one day pretty much and it was great... but that's season 2... let's go back to Season 1. If you're only familiar with Season 2... Season 1 isn't quite as dark. It's definitely more silly than Season 2. It isn't like the darkness and the drama isn't there, it just isn't quite as dark. I have a feeling the show is getting progressively darker, and the Season 2 finale was definitely the darkest so far. The show is meant to be a different spin on a Rom-Com. The girl moves across the country for a guy that has a girlfriend alrea...
