Weekly Favorites and book and random stuff haul (8/17/15)

So I just did an it list... but I bought some random things and some books and I thought I'd include them in with my favorites because I love them all... lol.

Haul
So I got 2 Funko Pop figures at Barnes and Noble. I've always wanted to start collecting these and... idk when I saw these at Barnes and Noble I was like "you know what I'm getting a couple!" So I got a minion... of corse! I got the Au Natural Minion, which is a Naked Minion that proves Evolution is real and its really funny. I also got a Sadness from Inside Out. I think she's really cute and she kind of looks like me... lol I have similar hair and glasses, and I don't wear turtlenecks... but I kind of look like her. Also Inside Out was such a great movie. The more I think about it... the more I love it and it reminded me of how much I love Pixar and all their movies and I wanted to work for them as a child and I still kind of do. I would love to write an animated movie for Pixar or Illumination... that would be so cool.

Also from Barnes and Noble I got a few books. This is from a different trip... but still I figure I'll mention them. I got The Scorch Trials, which is the book I'm currently reading and I'll mention in my favorites... it was on my It List. Its the 2nd Maze Runner book and the movie comes out in September.

I also got The Royal Wedding  Princess Diaries Book. I love the Princess Diaries. I cannot wait to read this... I'm really excited for this.

And from Target another toy I got is a little mini set of minion toys with a background scene and carrying case for them. It was like 2.99 I got the Napoleon Minion set, which I thought was really cool.

Favorites

The X Files Season 4 episode 2: Home- This episode... I always liked but I was kind of afraid of watching it again because A) Its a really scary episode. This is a straight up horror episode... it isn't even paranormal but its very x files. B) I thought I would think there's too much shock value and not enough plot for an X Files episode. I thought it wouldn't live up to my expectations.

Boy was I wrong. It did a great job of kind of balancing the humor with the scariness and it was just really a good episode. Its definitely one of the most controversial episodes on television. Its not for everyone, if you don't like horror movies... don't watch this one. It is scary, it isn't like an "I can watch this and go to bed" type of thing. If you love X Files and see this you might be like "what the hell did I just watch" because it is very dark and the tone is very different. Its a serious episode with the themes of incest, murder, racism... its deep.

The Scorch Trials- I know I mentioned this in my It List... but I keep going back and forth if I love it or if I don't like it as much as Maze runner... but I've just got to the part where Thomas meets Brenda... I like her. She's crazy, but she's daring and sexy and cool. I'm a fan. I'm interested to see where exactly its going cause these books are not predictable at all. And when a book is predictable to me, it isn't really a bad thing. I'm a writer, I predict things, so the fact that this continuously surprises me and I have no idea where its going is pretty good.

Starbucks Mugs: You Are Here Collection- I'm kind of big on collecting mugs. No real reason, they're just always useful, easy to find and I think starting your day off with a coffee in a cute mug is the way to do it. Recently I saw that Starbucks had a New Jersey mug, which I think is new and I really liked it, it was really cute, and I was having a bad day one day and my dad got it for me because he's an amazing dad. And he got me the New York one too because he goes to work in New York and as I mentioned, world's greatest dad... lol. The sad thing is I've been to Starbucks in several different countries and cities and they didn't have these there at the time... but I don't think the times I've been to those countries or cities will be my last. I love traveling and would really like to go back to England, Germany and other places. Plus its like a sense of comfort that you can pretty much find a Starbucks anywhere in the world. I think thats kind of funny to be like "I went all the way to Germany and all I got was this stupid Starbucks Mug" but you know... thats kind of a cool thing to because it is so familiar.

And I kind of want to do a song of the week in these weekly favorites too... just cause thats another level. Lol. This is just something I heard on the radio today (sunday) and its a really great song so I'm sharing it.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
