Scribbles About TV: Bojack Horseman Season 2

Bojack Horseman is a show I recommend to a lot of people and then I'm like... well hold on. Its very funny but I would say equally dark. It'll make you laugh, but it will also bum you out. I still think its worth watching because no other show really goes there really with its jokes and its sadness and its everything really. Lol.

So in season 1 Diane Nguyen was writing a book about Bojack and that book kind of made him famous again and landed him his dream role as Secretariat... but Bojack is still trying and still failing at overall happiness. In this season he has a girlfriend and a breakup, his rival Mr. Peanutbutter gains success with a gameshow, Bojack's movie changes everything he liked about it. Its really a great season.

The characters are really well developed in this season, they were pretty well developed last season... but this season they really stepped it up a level. Even Mr. Peanut Butter, who was pretty one note last season has this big arch about his game show and his marriage to Diane and theres a lot of sadness... even for Mr. Peanut Butter. Todd, who joins improv which turns out to be a cult and he's very susceptible to getting in this kind of trouble... which we can remember from his Rock Opera episode last season. Uhhh yeah. Also Bojack needs him even though Bojack doesn't admit to liking him. Its really sad beautiful the relationship between the two.

And I read an interview with the creator saying that he wanted to focus more on different characters this season. Last year there was a lot on Princess Carolyn and this year they didn't use her as much... but that in its own way told a huge story. And she comes out really strong and awesome in the end, which is cool and totally Princess Carolyn. Theres also some big Diane episodes and some episodes less focused on Diane and her character is developed greatly because of that. She's not just this writer that wants to help the world, she thinks helping the world will help herself and when she realizes she can't do either the way she thought she could do she's crushed. And there is a great scene that I think is a cold open where Diane is watching Mr. Peanut Butter's game show and answering the questions about him and he's talking to her thinking she's still in Cordovia. Its really real and just very well done. Mr. Peanut Butter and Vincent Adultman are my favorite characters, so I was happy for more of them this season because they are really funny.

Another thing it mentioned in the interview was that objects have kind of a great importance in the series as a whole. Like the Hollywood sign lost its D and its now just Hollywoo. The Automan that Sara burnt in the first season is still burnt. The bed that Todd broke stays broken until Bojack fixes it for Wanda. Its because the emotional effects of these things are still there. And that is pretty brilliant.

So yeah. To me its one of the best done satire's on television and its really well done and good. Awesome! Yayyy!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
