Scribbles About Life: A Sentence A Day March 2015

Soooo this month I thought that instead of reflecting on my month overall and writing down the highlights, I would just kinda give a little sentence for each day... or sentences. Or a story 1- Better call Saul marathoned it up! Also my dog was being a monster and bit me :( Still love him <3 obviously. Good think he's cute. 2- Spencer was being a monster AGAIN and I missed Better Call Saul because of him. Good thing he's cute. Also bummed that Jane the Virgin was a repeat. And then I got sick and took off brand Benadryl that may have expired... 3- Caramel Drizzle K Cups from Foldgers are where its at. The off brand Benadryl wasn't poison and I felt much better this morning... after a couple advils and Caramel Drizzles of corse. 4- I actually started doing this thing today, based on Ingrid Nilson's A Month in 5 minutes video. Also Last night I was up till like 3 in the morning watching the new Will Forte show and coming up with a book idea myself with a similar

Man Crush Monday: Flight of The Conchords

My most recent re-obsession has been Flight of the Conchords. It is a brilliant brilliant comedy that ended a while ago and it shouldn't have ended at all. It should still be on. It was sooooo ahead of its time. If it were on now it would probably be a hit. I saw it as a hit back then because it was hilarious and amazing... and clearly everyone on this show is crush worthy... but I'm going to focus on mainly Brett and Jemaine... I think. But Rhys Darby, Arj Barker, and Eugene Mirman are also in this show and are just amazing. And the guy that played Gale on Breaking Bad... lol. ANYWAY here is why they are my man crushes. 1) They're amazing together and separately- Both of them together are absolutely amazing, but Jemaine is more of an actor and a comedy guy and Brett is more of a musician. Brett has an Oscar for his work on The Muppet Movie. Jemaine has a been in a bunch of indie comedies. He has a movie I think is out now called What We Do In The Shadows that looks reall

Scribbles About News: End of March 2015

1) Man Kicked off Flight for wearing an offensive t shirt- You can see the buzzfeed article about this right  here  a man was wearing a shirt that said "Broad F-ng City" on it while going home from South By Southwest. Comedy Central was giving away the t-shirts and yeah. So he wore it on the flight and the flight attendant asked to remove it and he didn't want to. He claimed freedom of speech and stuff like that and left the flight because they told him he had to turn it inside out, change t shirts or wear a jacket and he refused. I'm all for freedom of speech... especially if it has to do with Broad City... but I felt bad for the flight attendant. He was kind of rude to the flight attendant and it wasn't his fault. I'm sure he knew it wasn't his fault... and he left respectfully... but I understand not wearing bad words in public places. Idk. I just wouldn't have wanted to be that security guard and he seemed kind of rude... idk. Its just something

Scribbles About TV: End of March 2015

I watched a lot of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I love this show. I can't stop watching it! Its really good! I watched this weeks Once Upon A Time and it was really good. I didn't see it last week. I almost gave up on it... but I really liked the Ursula story. It was really good. Its a good show. I think I need to watch what I missed too... so yeah. Missed Bob's Burgers... but I did not miss my favorite show currently on television, and that is The Last Man on Earth. I watched it on Sunday and I like it so much I went back and watched some other episodes on Monday. Such a funny show and really well done. I didn't think it would be a great concept, I thought it'd get boring... but every week when its over I want a little more. And that is the sign of a fantastic show in my eyes. I watched Two Broke Girls which I haven't seen in a really long time. I don't find it that funny... but it was the only thing on... so I watched it. I also watched a re-run of Sha

Scribbles About Food: Starbucks Birthday Cake Frappuccino

OMG guys this exists... and I don't even know how to describe it other than you want it in your life. And its not even like its the most mind-numbingly delicious drink I've ever had... but its pretty frickin amazeballs and you need it in your life. When I drink it I feel like 50 times more adorable because its cute and pink and I can post it on instagram and then people like it... but it isn't just its cuteness that makes it something you need in your life... When I drink it I feel like thats the empty hole in my heart has been filled. Filled with yum and birthday cake and cold and raspberry whipped cream... which HOLY CRAP IT HAS RASPBERRY WHIPPED CREAM! How is this not something you want in your life. And then after its gone... I get kind of sad because thats it. Its over and done with and I can't get another one until Starbucks and I meet again. I guess thats what true love feels like... You know like when they say you just leave a person and you miss them alre

Scribbles About TV: Series Finale Rankings/ratings (pretty spoiler free.) + Kroll Show Finale Review

I figured "I've seen a lot of series finales at this point" and since the Kroll Show finale just happened, it seemed like a good idea to do a little ranking/ rating for all of them. I'm going to try my hardest to actually rank these in order of best to worst fairly... but it seems weird to be ranking The Wire with something like The Nanny or Desperate Housewives... so there's that. Most of these I've seen live when they actually aired, some I haven't seen since then... and some were like when I was 5 years old, so I only kind of remember them. Also because I'm writing this before the Kroll Show finale does happen, I'm going to put Kroll Show at the end... not because its   ranked lower but just because that is easier. Plus thats the special reason why I'm doing this. Also as of now, I don't think its going to have much of a finale vibe for me. I'm sure its the end of this sketch show... but the characters will probably still exist and b

Woman Crush Wednesday: Ellie Kemper

Ellie Kemper is one of the awesomest of the awesome ladies... so duhhh I have a woman crush on her! 1) She plays some pretty "shannon-y" characters- All of her characters are very relatable to me and she plays them to perfection pretty much. Independent and smart but also with "phoebe-ish" type qualities. I mean Phoebe from friends if that makes sense lol. Kimmy Schmidt doesn't understand the present because its the future for her. Erin was fun and smart but a little on the silly and awkward side... thats so much like me it isn't even funny. Even in Bridesmaids she was obsessed with Pixar. She's so good. 2) She is fantastic on talk shows- I feel like Ellie is really well spoken on talk shows and in public settings and that makes me like her even more. She was on Ellen and they talked about a lot of things from her engagement story to her being in a haunted hotel and she just always seems like she has something super interesting to say and a lot of gr

Scribbles About TV: One Big Happy and IZombie Reviews

One Big Happy- This looked bad. I heard it was bad... and it IS bad... so yeah. I thought I would just watch this because I do really like reviewing tv shows. I also love Ellen and I really liked Elisha Cuthbert a lot... she was so funny on Happy Endings... but this is just not good at all. The jokes are just not landing. There isn't any real chemistry between the two leads as friends... there are no laughs really... There was a joke about a colonic... that wasn't very funny. There was a joke about getting the girl on the plane and Lizzie said "haven't you seen any movie ever." And that was the best joke of the show. And then there was Lizzie having an awkward crush on the wife of the babydaddy... Idk. Its not my thing, and I like the concept of it... but I feel like maybe they could have done it a little better. Also I'm going to get a little sidetracked here... but my #1 pet peeve about TV was in this show. The White Woman is getting deported so she gets m

Scribbles About News: March 23rd 2015

1) Seinfeld will soon be available for screening- Hulu, Yahoo, and Amazon I believe are now in the talks to find out which service will screen every season of seinfeld. Netflix will not be in this bidding war... which makes sense to me. Netflix's target demo is probably a lot younger than Seinfeld's audience... although I'm sure people would sign up to watch Seinfeld... although also you can watch reruns literally on every channel that exists... so thats a little dumb. Anyway... I'm excited. I haven't seen very much of Seinfeld, but what I've seen I've liked a lot. 2) Elton John protests Dolce and Gabana- Dolce and Gabana lost the support of Elton John and many others after they made a comment insulting IVF. That isn't cool. IVF is sometimes the only option for a lot of couples and it isn't something to make fun of or make light of at all really. Many couples struggle to have a baby and go through IVF treatments so that they can have a baby and it

Rory's Story Cubes Story #1

Heyyyy guys... So I was cleaning up my room and I found a game I have called Rory's story cubes which is the best creative game ever. It's just ther different cubes with different pictures on them and you need to come up with a story for those pictures. I'm going to roll the dice and tell a story.... But I'll take a picture of all the dice together and insert that here... PS... I wrote this like a year ago, never posted it and never took the pics... so this is a little weird lol. Okay here we go. Once upon a time there was a princess named Isabelle. Isabelle was not your normal princess because (rolls dice) instead of a castle, she lived inside of a book. Her book was in a library also with many other books, and when no one was reading her book, Isabelle would travel into other worlds. She loved it! She could go from the world of Jane Eyre to Harry Potter. She had fought in The Hunger Games and kissed Romeo. She met Holden Caufield, and yes, he is as crazy as he

Scribbles about TV: 3rd week of March 2015

Lots of Tina Fey this week... She's in a lot of good stuff and I loves me some Tina Fey... so yeah. One thing without Tina Fey that I saw on Sunday was Monsters Inc. I love this movie, I just saw the end and I'm still pretty upset that they didn't do a real sequel on Sulley's reunion with Boo... thats just disappointing. I didn't mind Monster's University... but... it wasn't what I wanted. So that made me sad... even though its one of my favorites... lol.  And then the Tina Fey Madness started. Admission was one, I really love this movie... but I've seen it so many times I kind of lost some love for it. Its not super funny even though Tina Fey is in it, its sort of a melodrama... but its good. Paul Rudd is good. Its a good movie, I like it a lot.  And I saw Muppets Most Wanted. Which I also really like. Everyone is funny in that. I had no idea Ricky Gervais could sing as well as he does... there are lots of other good songs. Brett McKenzie is

Shannonopedia: Random TV Facts

I know a little about writing tv and some things that are good and bad, and I know some random trivia facts that you may find interesting... so I'm going to mix them together and combine them. A cold open is the scene that roles before the opening credits. On The Office there was a Cold Open where Kevin makes a big bowl of chili for the office and spills it all over the floor. Mindy Kaling was one of the writers at the time and was very against this cold open. She fought the writers hard on it and threatened to quit because of it. They used it, she didn't quit. Everyone was fine. She writes about this in her book Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me. There was actually a sitcom made called Heil Honey about Hitler and Ava Braun living next to a Jewish family. It was either cancelled after 1 episode or never aired for obvious reasons. It was recorded however, and a few years ago I watched it on youtube. If you think it sounds offensive... it is even worse than that. Hitler wa

Scribbles About TV: Community Season 6!

So I was really excited for season 6 of Community. Not just because it is one of my favorite shows, but I was also curious to see it translate to Yahoo. I've only watched one other thing on Yahoo, Burning Love, which is a hilarious spoof of The Bachelor, The Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad... its really funny and good. I think season 2 is still up on Yahoo's site. I recommend it. Its also cool to wake up on Tuesday and there it is. A new episode, or in this case 2 new episodes. I was up around 7 and both episodes were already up... which was cool. And its still a really funny show... I still really like it. But it isn't exactly the same as the other seasons. Every season centers around a class that the group is taking and that class kind of sets the tone for themes in the series in general. Spanish, this group of weirdos meet each other and are struggling to get to know each other, and communication... something which Jeff is particularly bad at. Season 2 Anthropology...

Useless Super Powers

So now I'm just going to list some super powers that would probably be useless. Why? Why not. If you are a super hero and have any of these abilities, I don't mean to offend you... but you know. You probably aren't. And if you are... you need a TLC Show. My Strange Superpower? Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?! That would be awesome. I feel like I should produce this. The ability to turn into cheese sometimes- It would kind of suck to be Captain Cheese, which is what I'm guessing is what we call the person with this superpower if he chooses to be unlike Billy (and be a hero). Basically Captain Cheese does not have control over this power, just every now and then he turns into cheese. And the reason can't really be pinpointed because its pretty random. I guess this could be useful if you were looking to lure a giant mouse or if you were listening in on someone or something. Or if the villain was deathly allergic to cheese. There are lots of ways this could benefit, but

Man Crush Monday: Seth Meyers

1) He's a good host- He always seems genuinely interested in all of his guests... which is something I don't think a lot of hosts really are. I feel like he just likes talking to people and he's really good at it and I just like him. 2) He's kept his SNL Friends- Its rare to hear of someone being in an SNL cast and not still being friends with other cast members that were on during the same run, or even older cast members and newer cast members... so I guess it isn't really a huge deal or anything that he's still friends with everyone, but its really cute. I love that Amy Poehler was the first guest on his show and he wrote a chapter in her book. I love that Fred Armisan is his band leader and I love seeing their banter every night. And I love whenever he and Bill Hader are in a room together pretty much... well not Bill Hader, Stephon... but still. lol. And also a few weeks ago they showed a video of Will Forte making a speech at Seth's wedding in chara

Scribbles About News: 2nd Week of March 2015

1) Two Bachelorettes- It has been announced that for the first time ever, ABC's "The Bachelorette" is going to have 2 women competing over men. I find these shows offensive. Idk. First off, thats a weird way to meet someone. By dating 20 people all at once? Thats weird. And like it started off okay in my opinion. Just a guy looking for a girl... but now its so much different than that. Its about women fighting over some loser... all these things for ratings. There's some sort of deal these shows have with those tabloid magazines. And its also about people that want limelight and want to date famous people who shouldn't be getting limelight or dating famous people. Not my cup of tea... however interesting twist I guess. I almost want to see how it works... idk I saw the first season of The Bachelorette because it was on before Celebrity Mole Hawaii... and the second season I saw most of because it was before Celebrity Mole Yucatan... so that makes sense that I am m

It List: March 2015

This is an exciting month... I haven't been able to leave my house due to snow... so my favorites are more on the indoor side this month. Lol. 1) Keurig 2.0- I was excited about this. We got this in February and it is one of the best investments my family has made... in my opinion at least lol. I actually enjoy waking up in the morning because of this bad boy. I haven't tried many different types, but Foldgers and Gloria Jeans are really good. I have a post on my Keurig favorites right (link) if you want to see those. My favorite favorite is definitely Foldger's Caramel Drizzle. Its just really sweet and yummy and I've been loving it. 2) Bath and Body Works Cherry Blossom- Soooo for the spring Bath and Body works released some of their older fragrances that they haven't had in a while as a limited edition collection. I picked up 3, you can read about them here  but this one is my absolute favorite. I remember my friend got a lotion of this for me when I was in l
