Scribbles About a Dream: Work Nightmares

This is kind of a  weird thing, I like my job for the most part. I like the store I work at, I like the people I work with, but it's not like being a cashier is my passion in life. I like it for right now, but ultimately it can actually be stressful. I know there are far more stressful jobs out there obviously but its more stressful than Gweneth Paltrow's life. So I can complain, I'm not complaining but I have permission to.

Anyhoo when we have sales it gets slightly more stressful. Most of the customers are nicer and happy about the sales, but at the same time people get angry. Plus there's the added stress of people bringing up like 50 items of clothes, asking the price of everything and then only taking one of those things and leaving the rest by the cash rack for me to put back... its just a tad more stressful and I tend to get actual nightmares about working when that happens.

So anyway I had a dream that this woman was buying a bunch of stuff that wasn't ringing up on sale and a bunch of stuff that was too, but she was getting angry about it and complaining. So I went to see a manager and then when I came back she said "No its taking too long" and she just took the whole bag of stuff and left the store. And I was like "wait you have to pay for that" and she was like "no you take to long" and I woke up after that.

And this is weird because it's not like this is something that's ever really happened. I don't think this situation would ever happen, its a little ridiculous. It was super realistic in the dream, but its not something I think would ever happen like that in real life. There are grumpy people that I've waited on in real life, but no one that would complain about everything and then steal all the clothes. It was just bizarre and frightening.

I guess its kind of a good type of dream to have when you work in retail. Prepare for the absolute worst because nothing that bad will happen ever very likely. That goes for any job or real life situation I suppose, but yeah. Just something you should know.

So that's about it. Really weird dream, I don't get too many dreams like that just when the store gets busy I guess I get worried. Lol. Strange, but these are real worries of people working in retail. Dealing with angry customers and trying to be nice to them is a big issue and shoplifting is obviously a big issue too! If you're thinking of going into retail, just keep those things in mind and if you can deal with them you can deal with anything! Other than that its pretty fun and a good way to make some money.

I've also had school dreams that were stressful test type of situations that were all really weird. Do not like these dreams. Those dreams are far worse! Maybe I'll talk about them sometime, but I think I've blocked those from my brain. Lol.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
