Review Time! Maleficent Review

I know this is a little bit of an older movie and it will probably be out of theaters soon, but it is still showing quite a bit and I kind of wanted to see it and my mom and I wanted to see a movie... so we saw this. I wasn't really expecting to like it quite as much as I did, I have been super picky about movies lately and this got such bad reviews, but I really really loved it!

Now it wasn't what I expected the movie to be at all. My sister loves Maleficent and she was really excited about this movie and she was a little disappointed that Maleficent wasn't the same as she was in Sleeping Beauty. She wasn't nearly as wicked... she wasn't really wicked at all, just kind of misunderstood. Speaking of Wicked: I thought this story was going to be like Wicked where its a completely different view of the Wizard of Oz and it tells what happened with the Wicked Witch. Or I thought it would be like a super villain origin story where it tells how she became evil... which I guess it kind of did. But the story itself wasn't that different from the real version of Sleeping Beauty.

I also mentioned I saw this movie with my mom, and I think this is an absolute great movie for mothers and daughters to see together. I don't really want to spoil anything, but it has a very strong female image (in my opinion) and I think its an important movie for young girls to see. It's really good. It's probably not great for dads to see... lol if you saw the movie you understand that, but I don't think I know any men that actually like or would like this movie. It's not a dad movie, so if you saw it on Father's Day... I'm sorry. lol.

There's also a long part in the middle of the movie thats a little boring... well its kind of a lot boring... but its not the worst I've ever seen in a movie. It was still loaded with great visuals, really beautiful movie all around. It was actually kind of moving how amazing the visuals were.

And the fairies that raised Aurora were sooo sooo funny! They were the comic relief in this more serious disney movie and I really enjoyed seeing them. I thought they were great. And one was played by Umbridge from Harry Potter. It's funny because I recognized her, but I couldn't place who she was. At first I thought she was Granny from Once Upon a Time, then I thought she was the nun from Orange is The New Black, and now I looked up who she was. Anyway the fairies made the movie more interesting in the middle when the movie got kind of boring.

Also I should mention I saw this in 3D. I don't see many movies in 3D because I usually don't think its worth the extra money for just a few effects, but this was actually really a great movie in 3D. It was worth the extra money, it didn't have that many effects, but it did put you in the world of the movie and it was really cool.

Definitely go see this one! I was super impressed and I highly recommend it. It's actually a cute story even though it doesn't seem that way. If you like the story of Sleeping Beauty and you liked the original, I'm sure you'll like this. They didn't change anything really, and its just absolutely a beautiful and meaningful story.

Byeeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
