Shannon Reviews: Tyler Perry's Single Mom's Club

Sooo this was kind of the last movie that I saw on Spring Break, but I think it'll be the first movie out of theaters, so I'm going to review this first. I don't think I've ever actually seen a Tyler Perry movie before, I know he doesn't let critics screen his movies, which I respect. I don't think his movies are meant for critics to see because they aren't films critics would appreciate. This was just one of those good movies about regular people in everyday life.

So I just kind of wanted to see this movie, it looked pretty funny so when my friend said "hey let's see single moms club" I was like "sure!" And I was pleasantly surprised by it! I thought it was a fun enjoyable movie, but it also had strong female leads with good story lines. The way that the friendship formed between the women was really nice in my opinion. It was just an organic and natural type of friendship but it also had meaning because they were going through the same thing and it was a real bond that these ladies had.

Another thing I really liked about the movie was that it had good parent/child relationships too. It didn't show them as overly perfect like in a lot of movies, but it was real. I felt that it was loving and strong and realistic.

Also this movie had the hottest guys in it! Ohhh my gosh all the love interests in this movie were really hot. The only two I know are. Tyler Perry and Terry Crews, who are both good looking and funny, but the other three who are less famous and all names I don't know are INCREDIBLY HOT !!! Terry Crews was hilarious too!

I mean there were problems with the movie. It isn't like years from now people will be comparing it to Citizen Kane or anything like that... But how many people have actually sat through all of citizen Kane. I feel like a few of the moms at least got their hair done like in the middle of shooting the movie, so it isn't always consistent. Also they kind of added some backstory that was really just thrown in out of no where. It's just a cute story that's fun to watch with a friend. I would definitely recommend it. It's just fun!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
