Shannon Reviews: Muppets Most Wanted

I absolutely love the muppets and I was soooo excited for this movie. It has my two favorite female actresses, Tina Fey and Miss Piggy and sooo many more funny people in it and the muppets are amazing and it just looked overall like a really great fun movie.

And it was a really great and fun movie. The music was amazing, I'm a big fan of Flight of The Conchords, so of corse I was very excited that Brett McKenzie did the music for this and the other recent muppet movie. I think he did a fantastic job of making it slightly whimsical and funny. I thought that all the non muppet cast members did an amazing job singing as well. Josh Groban and Jemaine Clement were the only two professional singers that I think were in the movie, but the whole cast did a great job. Ricky Gervais was really fantastic in my opinion. I'm not totally sure that they all did their own singing come to think of it... But if they did they did a great job!

And I was a little sad that Jason Segal and Amy Adams weren't in this one. I know Jason loves the muppets a lot and I was so proud of him for writing the last muppet movie. I think he did amazing, but I really love the cast of this movie also. Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais and Ty Burrell are probably 3 of the funniest people and with the muppets they were totally amazing.

I liked that there was a "bad" Kermit in the movie too. I've been a fan of the muppets my entire life basically (as anyone with good parents should be lol) and Kermit is the nicest frog you will ever meet! Seeing an evil Kermit just sort of added something fun.

And I saw this movie with my mom. We probably enjoyed the movie more than any kid in the audience. You really are never too old for a muppet movie and I will always be a fan of the muppets. They are just as funny for grown ups as they are for kids. I think that the last one may have been a bit funnier, but this is still a fantastic movie.

I think it's great that they actually do use grown- up comedy writers to work on these movies. I think that gives it the sort of feeling that muppets are for everyone. They don't have any non- kid friendly jokes in the movie at all, but with all the songs in this movie and everything, it's not unlike watching an episode of Flight of The Conchords. It's just really funny. And if you work for Disney or The Muppets or something and you're looking to make another movie with a young comedy writer who is perhaps just a girl with a blog named Shannon... Let me know! I'd love to write a muppet movie, as I mentioned I am a lifelong fan and I think I can write something amazing.

Byeee!!!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
