Scribbles About Youtube- Starkid's Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier

So this is something I think I'm going to do from time to time because it's something I've gained interest in again. Obviously, I've been loving musicals and I love that there is the option of watching funny musicals based on things I have an interest in for the most part right on youtube! Not on Youtube Red Even... which I hope they continue.  This is one I've wanted to see for a while... but for some reason just haven't. It's sort of like Wicked... but with the characters from Aladdin. It's Jafar's real story in Aladdin and why he is a good guy, but the story just got told wrong. And it all kind of adds up. I thought that it would be a little like something that wouldn't really add up... but I've seen Aladdin several times, and pretty recently... and it all makes sense and fits in with the story of Aladdin and other Arabian mythology that Aladdin was based off of. I thought it was just very well done.  And it's very funny... but

Chart Chat- 1/30/17

10) Gold- Never heard of this movie! It sounds kind of boring from the IMDB description. It's basically about finding Gold... it says released in 2016... so that's weird. But yeah. Doesn't sound like something I'm going to watch. But good it's in the top 10. Ohhh Matthew McConauhey and Bryce Dallas Howard are in it. Might be good. Lol. 9) Monster Trucks- Really shocked this movie did so badly! I really thought it looked good! I think that MacGyver guy is going to be a big star... mostly because he's hot... and I just thought this would be more of a thing. 8) Rogue One- I love Star Wars! Hopefully I can see this movie before it's out of theaters... don't think I will... but hopefully I don't get spoiled at least. It looks really good. I recently rewatched the originals... so this is probably a good time for me to see it. 7) Sing- The soundtrack for this movie is amazing! I want to see the movie... don't think I will in theaters, but I love t

January 2017 It List

Here we go! 1) Hamilton- Making it's 11 millionth appearance on a Scribbles About Life It List... is Hamilton. I actually saw the play now! And it was the best! It is a really powerful performance! If you've listened to the soundtrack... for the most part that is what is in the show... but watching it live is just amazing! If you are wanting to see it... HIGHLY recommend trying to get tickets! It is the best. 2) Crazy Ex Girlfriend- I just bingewatched most of the second season today... and I love it! It's a really funny show... it's a really good one to bingewatch because I always want more after watching one episode. The CW shows in general would all be good if they were streamed... hmmm... Anyway yeah this season is really funny and really good. 3) A Series of Unfortunate Events- I'm going to say both the TV show and the books... even though I just started getting back into the books. I'm reading The Austere Academy right now and it's great! But the

Out of Blog Ideas...

Soooo I didn't really write enough to do a Scribbles! this week... and I don't really take enough pictures for it... and I'm kind of stumped as to what to write about... so yeah?  Today I had a sort of lazy day and I bingewatched Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Didn't realize the season finale was next week... that sort of always happens to me with this show... which is okay I guess... but it's upsetting. I like bingewatching though and yeah.  Anyway I feel slightly less interested in blogging... and this just happened overnight... where I was like "wow... don't really know what I want to do with my blog or my beauty blog." And I like doing both and I like posting on both blogs daily... but at the same time... Not quite sure what else to talk about sometimes. And it's not like I'm going to quit the blog or anything... because I still do really like these blogs and I think that I've been kind of proud of what I'm posting lately... and I stil

Scribbles About TV: Time After Time Trailer Review- This looks like the worst show ever.

I'm not saying that this is going to be the worst show ever... I don't want to judge it before it goes on the air... but the trailer is certainly an interesting concept that will be hard to pull off. So the trailer starts out with a man saying that he believes his friend is Jack The Ripper... and that this friend has a Time Machine and he is going to present day NYC to kill people there... so yeah... that is basically the whole concept of the show... and when I saw the trailer last night... I actually had to go back and rewind to make sure that this was all really happening. I'm still kind of astounded by it. Now... I can kind of see what the show is going for here. I think Mystical Realism is becoming very "in" for TV right now... and I love that. A lot of Science Fiction shows are gaining popularity, Stranger Things, Westworld and things like that... and I think that is what the show is going for. Plus there are shows like the new one on NBC about the superh

Throwback Thursday:Jimmy Neutron Boy Genius

This was quickly added to my list for Throwback Thursday when I saw it on Netflix. I loved this movie and the TV show as a kid, but you always need to know how it holds up... and it held up really well. The actual plot of this movie is really good... but I always really like the animation of it. I don't really know why, I think the colors and like the effects of Poultra are really cool. It isn't overly cutesy but its really just fun to watch because of the way it is animated. Another reason I love this movie is that when I went to Universal as a kid I went to Nickelodeon Studios (Of corse) I really really wanted to get slimed and my dad was a participant in a Jimmy Neutron game! They had him wear a helmet that looked like Jimmy's hair and he dressed like him... it was really really funny. And my Dad had fun with it and he was a good sport about it... although I have to say back when we went there wasn't a whole lot to do at Universal and it was all simulator rides..

Scribbles About Broadway: Hamilton Review

So... I've mentioned a few times that I kind of like Hamilton... just a little bit... lol. JK that is an understatement... I LOVE it! Anyway, I really can't say enough good things about this play or the cast... it's just even better than the hype! I saw it on a Sunday... and Sunday is a little bit different for Hamilton. They have a different actor playing Hamilton... which is pretty cool actually. The guy that I saw was AMAZING and it was his Broadway debut! So it gives actors that are lesser known a fair chance to be a star on the hottest show on broadway. The cast was pretty star-studded in general if you ask me though... maybe not the biggest stars, I'm sure they all will be big stars when they're done with this... but yeah. Jordan Fisher was in Greece Live and he was in a Disney Channel Musical, he played John Laurens and Phillip Hamilton. Taryn Killam from SNL played King George. The woman that played Angelica was Nina in the original cast of In The Heights.

Scribbles About Food: Teak Restaurant Review

So this is super exciting. I have been wanting to try this restaurant called Teak in Red Bank for a while now. It's a little bit pricey, so I haven't been... but it looked like a great place and a lot of fun. I actually won a gift card from a Facebook page called Jersey Shore in Motion. If you live near the Jersey Shore or vacation at The Jersey Shore... I highly recommend checking out the page. It's a great page for food all around the Jersey Shore... they were super nice and helpful when I won the contest. I guessed the amount of Candy Corn in a jar and I won that whole jar of Candy Corn and a $100 gift card to any Jersey Shore in Motion Restaurant... so that was cool. The Bar/ The Wait/ The Service.  I didn't get a drink from the bar at all, but my friend and I got a coke... which was on the house... really really nice! It was busy, but it didn't take long... I was impressed with the service at the bar! There was a wait for the table. I think they said 35-40

Weekly Wrap Up 1/23/17

Favorites  Hamilton- I saw Hamilton yesterday... it was even better than I thought it would be... and I really thought it would be good... I'll have a full review on that... I'm sure you already kind of know my feelings about that. I listened to the Soundtrack a lot this week too... so that was especially good.  Teak- On Monday I ate at a restaurant called Teak in Red Bank. I'll do a Scribbles About Food on that, but that was delicious! It reheated sooo well too. I was really impressed! Very yummy!  A Series of Unfortunate Events- I watched this again this week... I need something else to watch because I'm about to watch it again... and I already did my review. Lol. I really need to get some of the books now because I'm just so into this series right now.  News and World Events The Womens March was awesome and there were a lot of funny signs that actually said something meaningful. No matter what your thoughts on the current president, I t

Scribbles! 1/14-1/20

Saturday 1/14  I saw my niece again today. She is the cutest little baby! She was a little fussier today than she had been before. Lot's of "Waaaaahhhhhhh" which was cute. We sang Wheels on the Bus to her... it was a fun day. I finished watching A Series of Unfortunate Events too. I think I'm going to watch it again... but like each part day by day in 4 days because I think that might be better... and then I'm going to pick up where I left off in the books I think, which is book 5 and then on from there... just because I really want to finish it. I don't think I need to reread the first 4 books because I remember them pretty well... and I just watched the show. I have to admit... I was a little bit Disappointed in Sir.  They said that you couldn't see his face because it was covered in smoke I was hoping they would do that on the show too because I liked that imagery in the book... so that was what I was most looking forward to and in turn what I

Scribbles About TV: A Series Of Unfortunate Events Review

I really liked this show! I liked it so much that I actually went back and watched it again! And it was still really good! I liked the series... I didn't mind the movie that was made... but it was a little disappointing because it was just a lot to put into one movie... 3 books in 1 movie is kinda rushed feeling... but it makes sense as a Series... literally it is A Series of Unfortunate Events, it just works as a SERIES! Not so much a movie. I loved the first episode because I'm a big fan of the Addams Family movies and Barry Sonnefield directed those and he directed the first 2 episodes... I think he directed more than that too. I just think he's really good with dark humor and this whole series is ALL about dark humor... and I love that. I thought that The Bad Beginning and The Reptile Room were really funny episodes. The Wide Window Part 2 was a little funnier... The Miserable Mill I was a little disappointed in Sir to be honest... I mentioned that in another post..

Throwback Thursday: 13 Going On 30

So I watched this on VH1 around Christmas Time because it was on... they really need to bring this movie to Netflix because it's pretty fantastic and VH1 doesn't get the whole thing. I didn't catch the very beginning... but I did watch most of it from around the time when Matty gives her the Dream House... so sweet. It was a little weird to watch this movie because when it came out, I was 13 or almost 13... and now I'm closer to being 30... but I still felt more connected to the 13 year old Jenna instead of the adults in the movie. Like I'm not totally sure when I turned almost 30... but I don't like it. I'm still 13 year old Jenna who likes the same music as when I was 13 and has kind of the same style as I did then... I don't know... its just kind of a weird thing and I was freaking out a little bit from it. This is also the movie that introduced me to one of my favorite actresses, Judy Greer! I love Judy Greer, she's so funny and great and s

Scribbles About Food: Review: Bradley Beach Elbow Room Bar and Kitchen Elbows and Cheese

So I thought I would do a little review of The Elbow Room Bar and Kitchen in Bradley Beach. This is not the chain restaurant called The Elbow Room... although it is sort of like a comfort food restaurant... it isn't all Mac and Cheese like the chain restaurant... but I figured I would order their signature Macaroni and Cheese dish anyway. I'm picky with my cheeses so I asked what cheeses they had in their Mac and Cheese beforehand... I think it was Cheddar, Jack and something else... so just regular cheeses... nothing spicy, nothing bitey... no swiss cheese or parmesan or anything like that... just regular macaroni and cheese... which I like... but at the same time... it was just kind of regular macaroni and cheese. You could make it at home if you wanted to... its just pretty ordinary Mac and Cheese... it wasn't terrible and it was a good sized portion... but it was regular Mac and Cheese for like $9. Not quite sure its worth that. It's also a lot of food... I was

10) Passengers - this movie looked good... but also kind of bad. Lol. It's interesting, I'm not super into Sci Fi... I am super into Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence... so I think I'll make a point to watch this movie at some point. 9) Underworld: Blood Wars - Not super interested in the Underworld Franchise. Haven't seen any of the movies. I respect that they've been out forever though! That's pretty cool. Also Kate Beckinsale is kind of a badass. Maybe I'll try watching one of these for Scribbles About Feminism or something? Hmm. 8)Sleepless - Never heard of this movie... so yeah! I don't really have time too look up what it's about so we'll leave it at that! 7)Monster Trucks - surprised this movie is so low on the list! I thought it looked good, the guy from MacGyver is in it, he's hot. This reminds me of Transformers... which is a movie I don't like, but this is like the parts of Transformers that I do like... so I think it'

Weekly Wrap Up: 1/15/16

Favorites  The Sing Soundtrack- So my dad just downloaded this... and I have to say, it is really great! I haven't seen the movie yet, but the soundtrack was really great! It has a little bit of everything with a little bit of sooo many different performers and lots and lots of famous songs. Some great remixes... it's just like the reason I love soundtracks... in a nutshell. So many people where I'm like "wow, I didn't know they could sing like that!" Very cool.  Adam The Woo- Adam The Woo is a really cool vlogger. He used to do a lot of Disney park vlogs, now he has an RV and he travels across the United States in his RV and just explores what a lot of little towns and places in the united states have to offer. It is really cool and interesting to see the world this way. BTW it is on his channel The Daily Woo, which I'll link in the clickables. Bright Sun Films- This is a youtube channel with a series called Abandoned, which is super interesting.

Scribbles! 1/8/16-1/14/16 Stacey's Baby Shower, I get mail, I catch up with my friends... and I'm an Aunt?????

Sunday  Today is my sister's baby shower! I'm really excited to go. We're actually having it at one of my mom's best friends houses... so it isn't that big of a party, but its going to be very pretty and well decorated. My mom's friend does a lot of stuff on Pinterest and she's very talented and crafty... so it's going to look awesome! And it did look awesome! And it was tons of fun! We got subs from one of our favorite places, Nino Jr's for everyone to eat. There was a hot chocolate station and  I had the most delicious hot chocolate ever... Honey cake desserts. Little jars of honey as the favors. It's just really cute and fun. Everything was absolutely perfect! It was a lot of fun! I don't really want to share too much because it's a private thing and I don't think I'm going to say my nieces name... I might have somewhere on here... but yeah. Everything was perfect! This is a little rattle set we got... I forget if we go

Scribbles About TV: Blackish 2016 Election Episode

This is kind of the episode I've been waiting for since after the election. Blackish is one of the best comedies on TV that actually make commentary on social issues. Last year they had an episode about the Black Lives Matter Movement, they've mentioned politics in many episodes before, this year they talked about Atheism and being a new parent vs. being a parent of 4 with a 5th on the way... there's a lot that this show does and it does it well. There are very serious issues brought up in really funny ways. The Black Lives Matter episode had a more serious tone... I think this one did have a more comical tones... but the real life issues of tensions between Trump Supporters and Hillary Supporters was very, very real and they resolved the episode in a way that gives me more hope for the future. The episode was a pseudo bottle episode too I guess you could say... kind of like the Black Lives Matter episode of last season. What I would consider the main story is Andre'

Throwback Thursday: Aladdin

My favorite Disney movie ever! The first movie I ever saw... so did it hold up... Absolutely! This isn't that big of a Throwback... I feel like this is a movie I've managed to catch just about every year or every few years. ABC Family AKA Free Form usually plays this around the holidays and they played it right after I came home from Disney World the last time I went... which was in High School and that was the first time I really remembered it all in all and I loved the way that Aladdin and Jasmine fell in love. Its just such a sweet story filled with adventure and of corse its really funny too. I think the last time I watched it though was after Robin Williams passed away The Disney Channel showed it commercial free, which was awesome and I had it on Tivo and we saved it for quite a while, but I don't think I ever watched it after that. I got the Blu Ray a few months ago because as I've said... it is my favorite Disney Movie... so that is how I watched it this tim
