13 Nights of Blogoween Day 3: Scribbles About Events: Camp Evans Base of Terror

This is a fun local Halloween event! I went last year and this year... and whenever the first year they started doing this was... and its improved a lot and it is probably the best haunted house I've been to... I like the ones in Six Flags a lot... but this one is pretty creepy in itself.

Camp Evans Base is a weird place in general. Here is the history of it all. Its a huge place, so its super creepy to just have a haunted house that massive... but it is really good. And I think they've even expanded how big it is. The first year I think it ended early but there was a haunted hay ride with it... now they just have the walk through, which is really cool. They have a lot of really cool decorations and a lot of people in costumes.

They sort of have everything in little sections. So you go in one section and its an asylum, one section dolls, one is a haunted Alice in Wonderland type of thing, a clown section... they separate everything pretty well too so that the transitions of themes make sense and seem kind of gradual. I always think that's really cool, because like at 6 Flags Fright Fest they have different houses for different things and this is just the one big trail so its interesting to see how they separate everything!

The one thing about this year was that they didn't have as much stuff as last year. There were some spaces that were kind of short and some that didn't have much stuff in it... but it was still really fun!

I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for something scary to do in New Jersey. Its a really good and scary place to go to. Its not too scary, there were some kids there that looked scared... I guess I would have been scared to go as a kid... but if they don't want to do the walk there's other fun stuff for kids to do. They have hot drinks and food, they played Ghostbusters (not the new one) outside and they had a magic show or something. I think it could be a family friendly event!

Hope this was helpful!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
