Scribbles About Places: Boston, Massachusetts

I haven't been to Boston in a really long time, but my sister used to live there, so I used to go there quite often! Here are just a few things I liked to do there... keep in mind I was a kid... so I can't totally recommend  bars or drinks or anything... which is a little sad, but we did some tourist-y things and some not touristy things... so it was pretty good!

There are lots of historical tours that you can do. My favorites were the Duck Boat tour and the Ghost Tour... I'm not sure if Boston still actually does the Duck Boats, but are cars that they used in the war that you can drive on the land and then they go into the water. It's fun. The tour guides were really fun and its an interesting look at the city.

And then there was a Ghost Tour that I really liked. You would go around all the graves of historical people and the tour guide we got was really good. I feel like the tour guides they get in Boston really know their stiff and do an interesting job of telling the history of it all. I don't think it was too spooky for kids either.

The food was all really good too! The Oyster House had the best Chicken Nachos ever... I don't think they made them the second time we went back, but it was really good when we first went there. And they did walking tours around there too where people dressed up as historical figures... and one time we saw a Red Coat and an American Soldier going into the bathroom... it was funny.

And some of the best t shirt stores to stop at are in Boston. Johnny Cupcakes, which is cool and a staple... especially for halloween. And Life is Good, which I'm sure is a little bit more well-known and its still fun to just walk around the actual store. The Johnny Cupcakes store is designed like a bakery, which is cool. The boxes the shirts come in look like Dunkin Donut boxes also... just a really cool store! I like it a lot!

It's not far from Salem either, which his a good place to go if you like history! A lot of it was kind of gimmicky... but it was a pretty fun place. You can tour Nathaniel Hawthorne's house. It was pretty fun!

Another fun outside of Boston thing is the wonderful restaurant from Ming Tsai, Blue Ginger... even the Maraschino Cherries that they put in the drinks are amazing! Best meal I ever had was probably the butterfish from that restaurant... sooo soo yummy. Its kind of a fancy place, so its somewhere you sort of need to dress up for. The desserts are really great too. Its just a really great place!

And that's about everything... I know I'm forgetting a lot probably... there might be a Part 2 to this... but for now that is everything! I haven't been to Boston in years, so this stuff might not be there anymore... but these were my fun memories... so I figured I'd share these!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
