This week is very similar to what it was last week... so I'm not really doing a countdown on it... I'm just gonna say what I think and what I know of the movies... so its kind of regular but kind of different I guess. I'm not sure... but we'll see!
1) Suicide Squad- 3rd week in a row! I think this will end up saving the new DC movies that are coming out... even though I've heard bad reviews on it, its making a lot of money... and maybe that's a good thing about it being released in August. I've said this isn't exactly one I'm rushing to see in theaters, but I think it'll be a fun one to watch at home. Like Watchmen... I know a lot of people didn't like the movie Watchmen... I liked it, but I think its because I watched it at home and not in the theaters. I feel like it'd be a little cheesy in the theaters, but at home I could accept the cheese.
2) Sausage Party- I think I'm going to have to see this when its on TV. I really don't want to see it though. I think it'll be really funny... but I don't think its really my style. I don't know. We'll see what happens everyones saying its great. The trailer actually horrified me... so that's kind of why I'm incredibly hesitant about it.
3) War Dogs- This movie looks great! I don't think I'll see it in theaters... I haven't been in a "movie going" mood lately... not sure why, but this looks really good and I want to see it. It looks funny but also action-y and I just think it'll be a good one!
4) Kubo and The Two Strings- I don't usually like it when kids movies are more serious like this one... but I think this will be really good. Again, not rushing out to see it, but it looks action-packed and fun. I could see this being a good one to see at a kids birthday party or something. Its good!
5) Pete's Dragon- I really want to see this one! At first I was kind of against it because I remember the other Pete's Dragon and I liked the big cartoon dragon. I thought Eliot was so cute and I still think he is one of the cutest disney characters. I do think Disney is doing a great job with their live-action movies and I'm sure this one will be beautiful and heartwarming and memorable. I'm thinking of doing a favorite Disney movie post sometime soon and I don't think I'd include many live action movies in it... but lately Disney's been doing some great ones and with the Marvel Movies and Star Wars they've got something special now. There is only one live action Disney movie I think would be included in my favorites... but I might do a separate category for live action movies so... yeah. Look out for a future post on that!
Ohhh wait... Muppets count too... okay so there are some more because I really love the muppets!
6) Ben Hur- I have no idea why they wasted their time and money with a remake of this movie... there are so many action movies that aren't doing very well at the box office that I'm not sure why they thought "Yeah... nows a good time to remake Ben Hur. For $2million? Done!" But... they did. And most of the reviews of this were terrible... Sandy Kenyon from ABC 7 news didn't mind it... but he didn't think they needed to remake it... and they really didn't.
7) Jason Bourne- I've mentioned this in a few other weeks. I don't really follow the Bourne movies... I saw one of them when I was a teenager... but I didn't pay much attention to it. It was fun though I guess. But most people like these movies and Matt Damon, so its good that they're still making them and that he's back... so yeah. Probably a good one.
8) Bad Moms- I typed this out Bad Mons... which made me giggle. Like "Ohhh its bad, mon!" But no, it is bad moms! And it looks good, but its another one I can watch at home if I want to. I'm sure its really funny though.
9) The Secret Life of Pets- I think I'll like this movie... I know a lot of people that didn't but I think it looks cute and I like Illumination movies of corse... you know I love minions... so I'll probably actually buy this when its out on Blu Ray or DVD. I think it'll be cute. All the toys are cute, I have one of the toys from the cereal box... and I know they're making more of these already... so its here to stay!
10) Florence Foster Jenkins- This movie looks great! I'm excited about it. It does look sad though because she really thinks she's a good singer and she isn't. And its a sad story... but Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant are always good! So I'll definitely watch it!
