Throwback Thursday: Rewatching The Office

Going to take a break from my regularly Scheduled Scribbles About Music Throwback to bring you this! I'm re-watching the Office and it might be even better than the first time I watched it, to be honest!

I have The Office on DVD... and I have a DVD player... so I don't really know why I decided to watch it on Netflix... but I did and I'm loving it. If you liked The Office watching it the first time around... you might like it even better watching it a second time. Its still exciting to me to see Jim and Pam becoming a couple and Dwight and Angela and I'm almost at the point where Michael and Jan get together... it just didn't get any less exciting even though I already know what happens.

I also didn't really appreciate the first season... I had only watched it once, I had maybe watched Diversity Day a second time... but for the most part I was just like "meh, not that interesting, I'll skip and watch season 2",,, but Season 1 of The Office is actually pretty fantastic. It sets up a lot of what happens in the next few seasons, even just in the first episode. They already establish that the company can't keep both the Scranton and Stamford branches open and its not looking too good for Dunder Mifflin Scranton... it sets up a lot.

The last episode that I watched was The Fight in Season 2... so I think I'll do a little Top 5 so far, in no particular order.

1) The Dundies 2) Sexual Harassment 3) Diversity Day 4) Hot Girl 5) Office Olympics. We all know the best episodes haven't even happened for me yet (The Injury) but these are some really really good ones.

I love the way that Jim and Pam are shown before they get together too. You think that they're a couple in the first episode or that they're going to get together... but then you meet Pam's fiancé Roy. And you see that The Office is really what was sort of getting them together. And they want to get together on the weekends and stuff but they can't. Its just very well done, and I can see why so many people love the show and really wanted them to get together... I know I did! Lol.

And looking back on it... all the other relationships were done well too. I remember when Andy and Erin were getting together and they were like "ohhh no. It's just another Jim and Pam" and then it wasn't!  And I'm sure they brought Holly on knowing that Steve Carell might leave before the show ended and that was a nice way to get him out of the show. Its just little things like that that I'm sure the writers were mindful of.

Ohhh and Jan and Michael... I thought that was done really well to. Just very funny! I love that Jan was the crazy one...

And all of Michael's bad jokes...  just so funny. And how nervous he was that people would stop liking him. Just a great show with really funny jokes!

Alright... that is everything! I hope you guys liked this if you're fans of The Office, or if you're thinking of rewatching it. I haven't seen every episode still, believe it or not! There are a few episodes I still need to watch in the last few seasons (after it had kinda jumped the shark to be honest.) But I don't think it'll be bad. Its still just a funny show and I like watching it over and over again.

I'm gonna go watch it now... lol.

Bye!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
