Here's the Top 10 movies this week! I didn't want to do this every single week... but I'm kind of liking it... so let me know if you want me to keep this up or stop for something else. Most likely if the charts are too similar and nothing really interesting happens, I'll skip a week... but there was something I thought was kind of interesting this week. So yeah!
10) Light's Out- This is its 4th week on the charts and it's made 61.1 million dollars... not to bad! A lot of times horror movies are pretty low budget and do quite well in the box office... so while I thought this wasn't that good the last few weeks... it probably isn't really that bad. And horror movies never advertise a lot... so that's kind of cool. Yes the budget on this movie was $4,900,000 and it made $21,600,000 opening weekend... so that's not bad at all! Horror movie business seems like the business to be in! Lol.
9) 9 Lives- This movie looks terrible... but in a good way. Kevin Spacey is the cat. Totally watching this on TV. Maybe a good drinking game for adults just watching this because it looks bad would be any time they make a cat pun... but yeah. Its made 13.6 Million dollars so far... not great.
8) Florence Foster Jenkins- This movie looks amazing... but also sad. I'm said its so low at the box office this week! Only made 6.6 Million Dollars so far! The Budget was 29 Million... so that isn't great... It'll probably make a lot more money, I don't know if it was released everywhere yet... but yeah.
7) Star Trek Beyond- I've talked about this a lot in previous chart chats... so I'll spare you too many details on this one. It's the 4 weekend on the weekend chart and it hasn't quite made back all the money it cost yet... but it probably hasn't been overseas yet, and action movies always do well there... I'm surprised. Am I getting the movie industry wrong here? Lol.
6) The Secret Life of Pets-This is the 6th week in the top 10 chart for this movie... not bad. I've talked about this a lot too.
5) Bad Moms- I didn't even know this movie came out until I saw it on Chart Chat! It looks really funny... idk if I want to see it that much though.
4) Jason Bourne- I'm surprised this hasn't been doing that well. I know people seem to really like the Bourne movies and were excited Matt Damon was back... but I guess that its not as exciting as some of the more original movies out there... which are at the top 2... Or at least the first in a series like Suicide Squad. But yeah. Maybe people are tired of it. It seems like a specific crowd that likes the Bourne movie.
3) Pete's Dragon- Out of all the disney Live Action movies, this is the one I think I'm most excited for. I really like the original and I think Elliot the dragon in the cartoon is so cute... and I feel like he should still be a cartoon... but anyway... this is probably good and I'm a little surprised it isn't a BFG level hit.
2) Sausage Party- Shocked this is #2 to be honest... I didn't think this would be that big a hit at all! It looks funny but I don't think I want to see it in theaters. I don't know why, I'm not a big fan of the raunchy animated movies... but I'd probably watch this at home just cause it looks so funny and disturbing.
1) Suicide Squad- Again! I've heard good reviews and bad reviews on this... and I think its an "I'll watch it at home" type of movie. I don't really know if I want to see it in theaters because I don't like watching superhero movies in theaters all the time... people are crazy. I don't like seeing movies opening night anymore... and this is no exception really. So not that it'd be a bad movie... but its something I want to see at home. I'll even watch Batman v Superman at home. I've heard mostly bad things about that, but some good... enough good to maybe make me a little interested. And if I watch Suicide Squad... might as well watch Batman v Superman too.
