Stuff That Happened This Week! 1/25/15

1) Comedy Central announces roast of Justin Bieber- This is exciting news for me because I hate Justin Bieber as a person, but I can stand his singing to a certain degree... also I love comedy and depending on the panel, this could be absolutely amazing. Jeff Ross is going to make this kid cry! I'm hoping Nick Kroll is on the panel because he does a character very similar to the Biebz on Kroll show. I'd kind of like to see him be the Roast Master actually... idk who else I'd like to see... maybe some other Canadian Comedian... this could be amazing. Its going to air in March and I'm just wondering who the panel is going to be.

I'm not a huge fan of roasts, but the Roast of James Franco was absolutely brilliant. I think this might not be as good because I don't know if Bieber will roll with the punches as well as Franco did. Plus usually they don't actually insult the roastee that much. They kind of insult everyone on the panel... and usually there will be one person they'll really try to get and then that comedian will get them back really well. Like on the James Franco roast, I'm pretty sure Jonah Hill just ragged on Sarah Silverman because she gave it back hard.

So this is potentially quite exciting.

2) Kid being charged for missing a bday party- This story smells fishy to me... I think its a hoax... but it was on the news and it was interesting so I figured I would mention it. In London a boy rsvped yes to a birthday party and something came up, I think they said he had a doctors appointment or something and he couldn't make it. Then the dad gets a 15 pound charge from the parents as a fee for missing the party. This sounds a bit sketchy to me, first off cause thats a weird ass thing to do but its believable enough that if its on the news... people will believe it. Second, I'm imagining the birthday party was on a weekend and it seems weird to have a doctors appointment on a weekend. I'm not 100% sure that thats what the kid was doing... but there was something with the timeline of the party and the reason the kid missed it that made me think "hmm, thats strange." Also when its fake its usually a dad or a grandmother... so thats just another small red flag to me.

This might be real, but theres a lot of doo doo in the news... so don't trust weird stories like this one.

3) American Sniper stirs up controversy for serious and silly reasons- A lot of people have been praising and criticizing the movie American Sniper. I haven't seen the movie... but to me its the story of an American Hero and his struggles. He's one of the most dangerous snipers and he protected our troops from a lot of dangerous terrorists. On the commercials, it doesn't at any point seem like this comes naturally to him. He's both talking to his wife about their baby son on one end and also targeting a child that is being forced to be a suicide bomber. Michael Moore called him a coward. But I don't think this story is just about the glorification of an American Hero. It shows the struggle of someone in a very different situation than most people are that is definitely a struggle. And I know Michael Moore apologized or something... I'm not criticizing Michael Moore, I don't think he's always right... but I like his filmmaking. I saw Roger and Me and I thought that was really good and its useful to watch his movies, but keep an open mind. These are his views, they might not be the same as yours. Rambled a bit there, but its all worth mentioning. Lol. This is the most political I think I'll ever get on this blog on a movie I haven't seen. But this movie too, you don't have to agree with the war to appreciate the struggles of Bradley Cooper's character and see the complexity of the situation he is in.

On a lighter note, the silly controversy of it all... the fake baby. This is like the fakest baby that was ever in any movie. It does not take an expert to tell that thing is fake. And that Bradley Cooper is just playing with a doll. Apparently the two babies they had in mind were not into it. They probably sided with the criticism of the movie and decided to go out... lol. If you look really closely, you can see Xavier Roberts written on the butt. Lol.

4) Chris Pratt and Chris Evans make a Superbowl bet for charity- So this is the most awesome super bowl bet between Marvel Bros... ever. Evans told Pratt that they are now enemies as their teams are against each other in the superbowl. Pratt suggested that if the Seahawks win, Evans goes to Seattle and dress as Captain America for Seattle Children's Hospital waving a Seahawks flag. If New England Wins, Pratt, will go to Chris Haven in... well somewhere in New England I guess...as Starlord in a Tom Brady Jersey.

I think its nice that these guys are bros, broing out over football for charity. Evans was also in What's Your Number with Mrs. Starlord, Anna Farris.

Hopefully their bet doesn't deflate... idk if this is a good joke, but its a good segway...

5) Patriots deny deflating football- Brady says he didn't do it. Bill Belicheck says he didn't do it. Footballs don't just deflate themselves... and although New England has a lot of history and ghosts I'm sure... I doubt those ghosts are betting on the Super Bowl... so someone did it. I think it was Gisele Bundchin, Brady's wife... because she doesn't like dealing with a cry baby. Lol. Can you tell I'm not happy with them in the super bowl, as much as I don't like sports.

Bill Nye also Bill de-Nyed that this was possible... and I agree with Bill Nye on most things in the world. So yeah. Bill Nye the Science Guy.

6) Zooey Deschannel and Baby Daddy are engaged- That is right! Zooey Deschannel recently announced her pregnancy and has now... possibly unofficially... ENGAGED! I feel like I talked a lot about her and her boyfriend in last weeks STHTW... but not sure. They've been together a long time, they're having a baby. They're cute and will be cool parents.

7) Will Ferrel hits Cheerleader in the face with Basketball for upcoming movie- At a lakers game this happened! Will Ferrel was filming a movie in which he plays someone recently divorced and kind of crazy I suppose and in the movie he throws a basketball at a cheerleader I guess... which is what he did during the game this week. Yeah. Hopefully the ball was under-inflated and hurt less.

8) Tom Felton gets sorted into Gryffendor- The very famous face of Slytherin, you might say, recently took the test to see which Hogwarts house he is in and he got into Gryffendor. I am a Slytherin, so I'm a little torn about this issue. I actually retook the test recently and got Slytherin again... so I guess I'm pretty much a true Slytherin. So uhhh yeah. This is a thing.

And that is it. Lots of stuff this week. This is probably the most political and sports-y I'll ever get on this blog... so yeah. And I may not be well informed on the issues at hand... so these are more opinions than anything. I don't think there is anything bad with Gryffendor, but I am a Slytherin.

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
