Man Crush Monday: Scott Auckerman

1) He's a really good host- The non-crazy parts of the podcast are always really funny. He gets to really good host. He's nice to his guests and promotes them and says how talented they are... but he's not like overly brown nosing. He'll joke around and I feel like he just seems like someone really comfortable to have interview you. I think it would be very nerve-racking to both improvise and do an interview promoting a project, if the host was someone more intimidating. Idk there are a lot of hosts I think aren't good to their guests and some that I think intimidate people... He's good at that.

2) He's also good at improvising- Hosting isn't easy. Improv isn't easy. He does both really really well. It is such a unique show and mostly because of his ability to multi task in this situation makes it even better. If you listen to the episode with Taran Killam and Paul Brittain as the Calvin Twins, he does a great job of sort of helping them with their improv and adding to it. He said that they came in with basically nothing except "I thought we could be guys that owned horses" and then he helped them go along with it and it was totally insane and it just turned out really funny.

3) He is a really funny and entertaining "Straight Man"- He isn't really the over the top scene stealer of the show... but that doesn't mean he isn't really funny. I'd say he's just as funny as everyone else on the show and he has some really funny quotes and he kind of does a character also and its really funny.

4) He has a cute dog- Check out his instagram or Kulap Vilaysak (his wife's) instagram. They have a cute dog! I love dogs! It gives him more man crush points.

5) He's okay with making fun of himself- He always kind of makes fun of himself and his podcast a lot. Its something not everyone is okay with. I'm sure Ryan Seacrest would never make fun of himself, and he wouldn't take crap from anyone else. He just knows how to take a joke and that is not something every man can do, and it also adds man crush points.

6) He did extra work for How Did This Get Made- He watched Tyler Perry's non Tyler Perry directed movie Alex Cross! From what I've heard that is an awful awful movie, and yet he watched both that and Sharknado. Good for him! He gets extra podcast points too!

7) He's actually friends with the guests on his show, and he seems like he's having a good time hanging out with friends - Half of the "Best of" episodes are just him and Paul F. Tompkins singing the Cantina song from Star Wars... he just kind of bros out with his buddies and they seem to be having a good time. He seems really easy to get along with. Like if you met him at a party a mutual friend of yours had but you didn't know him and you saw him again you would say "ohhh yeah. Scott Auckerman is pretty cool." Lol. Long explanation... but true!

8) He just has a cool job- again see above. The worst thing he's done is watch Alex Cross. Cool job. That adds man crush points as well.

Byee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
